This device holds a charge and is much stronger than I expected. It definately helps with a sore back. I also use it for my shoulder pain, but I am not sure how much it helps, since it is ligament damage I am dealing with. Overall, for muscle soreness, especially in your lower back, this product can't be beat. I have a bad psyatic nerve as well as a slipped disc that likes to pop itself out from time to time. I love doing triathlons and it seems my back goes either right before or during my races. Got this little sucker as some before and after care and so far it's done the trick. Price is perfect and you can get more sticky pads on Am a zon.
