5 out of 5 eggsSome Help for Win 7...

Pros: Simple to use, does what it says in an easy fashion.

Cons: Software will not work on newer computers (it is outdated). For those of you having problems finding a manual or getting the software to install, I can help... See other thoughts below.

Other Thoughts: For those who can not install the software on newer systems, I installed it successfully with my 'XP Box' and transferred the installation files over to a win 7 x64 machine and found that method works fine. You can find the install files here: mediafire.com/download/d0q7ics6li24u6z
All you need to do is unzip it (preferably into your Program Files (x86)) folder, right click and make a shortcut to the DTCHelp file, and paste the shortcut wherever you want (desktop, Start menu, etc). The manual is included in the folder, you can make a shortcut to it or move it where you please.
This should make it a lot easier rather then trying to Google codes or install an app on your phone. I noticed someone else posted a link to the manual as well, but it is dead, hence why I included that in the file as well.
Happy Hunting~

5 out of 5 eggsMS300 Autel Scan Tool

Pros: Just had a chance to use this baby. Loose gas cap error code again.
Saved me $90 rather than have someone else tell me the same thing.
Well worth it's price. Paid for itself already

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Wish I had the MS309 or 310 model. Translates code right on the screen

2 out of 5 eggsSLOW shipper, device wont read codes

Pros: Small, simple device, will work on some cars, not all. Rather easy to clear codes. Worked on a 2004 Chrysler T&C van. Wont clear its codes though, just says "FAIL!".

Cons: Does not read P0455 code on 2008 Chevy Equinox. Just says "N/A". It will clear the code but wont show it. Had to take to repair shop to actually read the code. Seller has SLOW SHIPPING (TopLineTools). Took them 4 days to ship the item, while the other items I ordered that shipped from newegg shipped next day and I received those 3 items before this even shipped. PLEASE DELETE THE PACKAGE PHOTOS. This did not come in the package shown in the photo, just in an unpadded anti-static bag. Newegg, please screen your sellers.

Other Thoughts: I give it two eggs, it does work somewhat, but I'd save your money and buy one from a tool store with the name HF. This is a perfect case of you get what you pay for. I did only pay fifteen fifty for it though.

4 out of 5 eggsGood and Cheap

Pros: This unit is a good simple working device to read your car's computer and reset the check engine light. Interestingly enough it worked where more expensive models failed to work for me.

Cons: No cons on the unit itself, see other thoughts for a general con.

Other Thoughts: This item is sold through Newegg but not by Newegg. As such the shipping took a LONG time. Something to the tune of 3 weeks. It did eventually arrive and in good condition but seems to take the seller a long time to get it shipped. If you are in a hurry I would look elsewhere, if you just want one for future use and can wait a while this is a fine choice.

Pros: None.

Cons: "Link error" for every car I tried it on.

Other Thoughts: Don't waste your time. Took 3+ weeks to receive, and then it crashes every time. Buy ANYthing else...

2 out of 5 eggsIt did EVENTUALLY arrive--Have Faith

Pros: I bought this unit to help me trace an O2 bank sensor prob. Was tired of running to AutoZone or O'Reilly's to borrow their scanner. Now I can monitor my P0133 fault and get at a solution more effectively. Also handy is the ability I now have to see I/M status on all and KNOW when I'm at READY state for emissions check station. This is worth price alone. 4 Eggs for product. Simple to Use, All the basics for OBD-II, MIL status and Reset easy. The my reason for 2 Egg rating below.

Cons: My only beef about this purchase is SELLER as noted below in "Other Thoughts" section. As for the Autel MS300, only Con I've discovered is that neither of my CD/DVD drives on an XP-based PC will read the micro-CD owner's manual that was included with the Autel. I had to rummage around on-line to find a .pdf of the manual. BTW, there is a manual at download.xcar360.com/pdf/MS300Manual_1.01_20100401.pdf which seems complete enuf to make the Autel fully useful to the average joe.

Other Thoughts: My only beef about this purchase is SELLER, who probably means well, is NOT advertising an accurate estimate of time it will take for you to receive this device. I ordered 3-7-14 and did not receive until 4-4-14. Seller could improve by providing more realistic statement on ship time. I love free shipping so I would be OK with waiting a bit longer (media mail is SLOOOOOW), but want that stated in the seller's site. Was going with ONE Egg, but since unit finally arrived, I'm bumping to two due to signif delay and the same customer experience the proponderance of other customers have experienced with AES. I give the actual product 4 Eggs. Brutal to have customer's shipping expectations let down and that trumps product rating in this case...Come on AES, just update your statement on Shipping and you'll have much better ratings coming your way I believe!

1 out of 5 eggsMaxiScan MS300

Pros: none

Cons: this is a scam. its been a month, i still havent heard anything from newegg or this conpany. Newegg used to be my favorite place for electronics ,but now I rather order some junk from ebai. The shipping and customer service is much faster and better.

Other Thoughts: newegg is ruining your own reputation by selling this item on the website.
