Other Thoughts: If you're looking for excellent DLNA support and the ability to naively play almost any audio and video types the WD TV models are better options than any Roku, which treats DLNA like an orphan stepchild and fights you when playing various audio codecs. However this is not the player to buy if you're looking for lots of great apps, which is where Roku and Android based players shine. So really the main reason to choose a WD TV player over others is to play your locally saved videos. As this the next generation from the WD TV Live Steaming Player that proceeded it that I also have, I expected it to be as good if not better than it's predecessor. and in that one expectation it failed. For some unfathomable reason WD dropped support for DTS audio (Blu Ray quality sound) for this model that it previously supported. Had I known this I wouldn't have bought it, as I've most of my digital media uses DTS audio. Overall this is not a next generation device that is better than it's predecessor and that's a real shame.
