Pros: I'm sure this thing will be terrific if the company ever decides to create a Windows 10 driver.

Cons: Works only with the vendor's enterprise software. No Windows drivers at all. This was confirmed by their tech support.

Pros: Durable. Compact.

Cons: Outdated. No software. No customer support.

Other Thoughts: I agree with others that this device lacks of software. I recommend to buy upgraded DigitalPersona 5160 Model that comes with IdentaMaster software with which you can log-in to PC and encrypt the files with biometrics.

Pros: Granted that the software does not come included all you have to do is go to google and do a search for Digital Persona software and you will find it. Very easy to use and the scanner does catch the fingerprint extremely well. This is used in a doctor's office with around 10 people using it and they love it so far.

Cons: Does not come with software.

Other Thoughts: I don't understand why this thing gets such a bad wrap, it works just fine.

Pros: Good product design, fairly durable, anti smudge features help with fingerprints, easy to clean.

Other Thoughts: I am amazed that people review this with negativity. I have FULL support on these fingerprint readers and their enterprise software, I have had nothing but good things with these readers, I currently have 16 deployed and will be adding 5 more today, so please don't listen to junk reviews where they state there is no support, I call them often for documentation and assistance.

Pros: Accurate and fast.

Cons: No more consumer support. Stopped in 2009. Nothing beyond Windows 7. Existing version 4.11 software did not have many features.

Other Thoughts: I have used Digital Persona products for over five years through different iterations of their finger print readers. It is a shame nothing is sold to do the same thing.

Pros: These fingerprint scanner are built well and last longer than the previous brand we were using.

Other Thoughts: My company uses these scanners with DigitalPersona Pro for Enterprise. We currently have around 50 of these scanners in place as we transition from the previous brand.

Let me clarify some misinformation that has been given.

1. These scanners work with 32 bit and 64 bit Windows 7 and Vista. They also work with 32 bit Windows XP SP2 or SP3.
2. You can not pull a fingerprint off of glass and use it with this scanner to get a successful read from DigitalPersona software.
3. DigitalPersona DOES support this product.

Pros: Works great if you have the right system. Works with Win7.

Cons: They no longer support it.
May not work with IE9

Other Thoughts: Great product, just to bad they no longer support it.

Pros: Fast

Cons: Does not come with software. Only able to get it to work on an older machine that had already had DigitalPersona Personal loaded and then only after updating the driver from the DigitalPersona (automatic updates loads the wrong driver). Their Enterprise solution is expensive unless you have at least 10 installations.

Pros: None

Cons: Does not come with software. Called Digitalpersona to get software and they said I had to buy a license for $85.

Other Thoughts: Newegg needs to stop selling item.

Pros: very accurate and fast. No driver issues or BSOD.

Cons: Not 64 bit compatible. cost more than it should as this unit should cost no more than $40 max. Save your self some money and just remember the passwords. This unit can be fooled with a piece of tape that has the persons finger print on it. I took and touched a glass and then used tape to lift the print. then transferred the tape to this unit and it worked.

Other Thoughts: NOT very secure. get a face recognition or eye scanner.
