This plus a hub causes problems.
- Pros: Works like a charm. Hardest part of using this was running my Cat5 cable.
- Cons: Kept getting random disconnects when using with a hub. No disconnect problems when using without a hub. Tried 3 different brand hubs, powered and unpowered and still had the random disconnects.
- Other Thoughts: If you need more than one port at the end, you're better off going with an extender with a built in hub. And those are more expensive.
Extend USB
- Pros: Works great without any loss in the USB device.
- Cons: I would love to see this item in USB 2.0, but for what I am using it for it's not necessary.
- Other Thoughts: I am using this for a Sprint Wireless Broadband U720 USB device, which is sitting in my upstairs window.
Through this device I extended it to my downstairs PC and connected without problems 175' feet away. Far exceeding a USB 16’ foot limit.
- Pros: It will extend anything USB beyond that 16ft max...
- Cons: It does not come with a power supply which stinks because the one that is needed costs arouns $30 at Radio Shack. The cost...
- Other Thoughts: If you need something that will extend a usb cord, this is it but be prepared to pay $...
