2 out of 5 eggsre-review

Pros: all-metal

Cons: Changing my opinion on this - see my previous review above or below. After having/using this for a while it has one serious design flaw. There's not enough air flow to keep the unit cool, OR the thermal cutoff is too sensivite. Even in a very large room, and way before the room gets hot, the unit overheats and shuts down. It will restart after a while, once it cools off. I've disassembled it and tested, the thermistor is definitely cutting off the power. My plan is to remove some of the side vents, back them up with aluminum screen, creating a lot more input area for sucking in cold air. Maybe it will stay cool enough to be of some use. If that doesn't work I'll maybe try and find a different cutoff thermistor. Or just toss it, it's not worth my time to spend an hour on this thing.

4 out of 5 eggsVery compact, all metal

Pros: Small, all metal

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: We bought this as it was the smallest ~1500 watt unit we could find. And after receiving it, it certainly is smaller than anything else in that wattage range that we've seen.

I like the all metal body. While not light, it's sturdy.
