1 out of 5 eggsMade By Generac - Terrible Customer Support

Pros: Small, quiet, low cost when purchased.

Cons: Failed to run in 'quiet mode' after 10 months despite very low use. Called for warranty repair. After 5 months (so far) Generac has done nothing to fix the problem despite providing them proof of purchase and following their maintenance program. Half hour waits on line, disconnected calls, never calls back, customer support people who are no longer there. I would never buy a Generac-made unit unless you don't care about their warranty because they are one of the worse companies I have dealt with in over 30 years.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Compact, and quite.
Looks and sounds very much like my Honda eu2000 ,a little smaller and different color.
It's only 800 watts. This is my new camping genny.
Small enough to take anywhere you want power.

Can't beat it for the size. I ran a industrial size fan for a couple hours just to test it.

Would make a great emergency back up for TV, lights, and a fan or central heat.

Cons: none at this price

3 out of 5 eggsSmall, low cost generator

Pros: Light weight, compact, easy to use, low cost, 4 stroke engine (no mixing of oil in gas), fairly quiet.

Cons: hard to get to oil cap to see level (remove side panel with screwdriver, reach in to middle of case to remove cap, need flashlight) , very hard to get oil cap on/off (hands don't fit; used needle nose pliers to start), 800 watts means only 7 amp max (so my 2HP circular hand saw is too much of a drain).

Other Thoughts: I could not find any reviews of it so I bought it 'blind'. It starts fine and in the eco mode it is fairly quiet with little or no load - you can easily stand over the generator and talk in a normal voice. That does not mean you cannot hear it - it is comparable to standing next to a car idling. At full load/no eco mode the engine races up and it gets louder but you can still talk right next to it without any difficulty. There was only one item I could not run on it -- my circular hand saw (which I did not check until I got the generator; it said it required 13 amps!). Still for the cheap price (clearanced well under MSRP) I think it will meet most of my needs for a portable electrical source.
