PERFORMANCE LED Bulbs use ocular lenses to harness the output of high power Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). The light output is comparable to incandescent and halogen products and can be used for both distance and close-range directional light. What makes these special is that they achieve their brightness with up to 78% less energy than the bulbs they replace, and they last up to 30,000 hours. They are RoHS compliant and 100% mercury free. Additional benefits include no UV or infrared emissions, relatively cool running performance, ability to withstand vibration (no filament), no warm-up time or waiting to turn on and no detrimental effects from rapid cycling on and off. They can also be used in motion lights and photo cells.
Pros: Color, brightness, longevity, low-heat, low power consumption. These have the best (closest to halogen) color I have found, not perfect but tolerable. The brightness compares well to halogen, though maybe not quite as bright/contrasty. Have been running for over 6 months 8+hours per day without fail. So even though the initial investment is somewhat higher, you will save money in the long run in bulb replacement cost alone.
Cons: I am very critical of light color; these are not as good color-wise as halogen but they are better than any other brand I have tried.
Other Thoughts: I bought 3 of these about 6 months ago to replace the halogens in my home office. It seemed like I was changing a halogen bulb every other week; these have been running over 6 months.

Saved Megga Money
Pros: I have six of these bulbs in two pointable ceiling fixtures to light up my small kitchen. They have performed flawlessly for more than a year. Saved my sanity. I was changing the Halogen 50watt MR16 GU10 floods on a three month schedule. Halogen cost me major money to run... 300watts for six and burnt out in 90 days. Spent the money for these and now use 24watts and I have not touched them since installing them. SWEET.
Cons: Light is not as warm as Halogen 50watt bulbs I was using. Actually seemed a little brighter with the LED bulbs in a different way, not bad, but different. Get used to it and enjoy the fat wallet you will get shortly.
Other Thoughts: Huge improvement from a light bulb? YES. The wife liked them better from the day I put them in. If your still changing Halogens don't worry about the watt equivelent rating being lower by a few (15watts). These do the job very well.
