5 out of 5 eggsThese are for my desk!

Pros: Nice white light; energy savers; very much better than CLF bulbs; very cool in use; no flicker;

Cons: May we see these bulbs again at Newegg?

Other Thoughts: Live in 18 unit building. Today someone near me installed a smart appliance. Turned on my light to see one bulb flickering other bulb steady. Don't know how that could happen. Pray for steady light again.

2 out of 5 eggsIs not 55W equivalent.

Pros: They do what they're advertised, usually.

Cons: I bought five of these and got a discounted rate. I was expecting the brightness advertised, but this bulb was about as bright as the 40W Collection LED's on this site that go for much less than this (and, frankly, look better too). This bulb is not worth the price.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you very much for purchasing this unit.
We strive to provide the most reliable and highest quality products to our customers.

The Energy Star programs requirement is listed below.

Nominal wattage of lamp to be replaced with LED Lamp

Wattage (Lumens)
25W 200
35W 325
40W 450
60W 800
75W 1,100
100W 1,600

The 600 lumen bulb would fall approximately 50W of power give a or take a few watts.

5 out of 5 eggsI like it! Color is great.

Pros: I have several of these in an overhead chandelier and like them a lot.

It isn't quite "daylight" color but very (very) close.
Much better color than soft/warm white color, tungsten type bulbs.

(I have a daylight rated CFL in the same chandelier, too so I can compare side by side. Only a careful inspection shows a color difference, so no problem at all).

There were no problems switching from a regular incandescent to this LED bulb.

Cons: None really.
I'd like it to be a little brighter if used alone.
In a group (see above) no problem on brightness.

I'll be looking at other models as they come on the market.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure why others are complaining about the start up (ignition) time. It seems okay. Maybe 1/2 second to full on ... that seems fine to me, and I assume LEDs in general will get better at this. I am happy for now.

I will buy more of these, and look for sales. Price is still high but the electric bill saving is spectacular.

4 out of 5 eggsGood light still not great

Pros: The light is faster than cfl is to get bright.
Very bright light. Price is getting closer to what can be considered affordable for everyone.

Cons: The light is bright, but doesn't feel as warm as a normal bulb does. Gives that slightly fake feel like a cfl bulb does.

Other Thoughts: I'd buy again. I'm sure as time goes by I'll get more used to them.

1 out of 5 eggsA little too slow

Pros: I like the color, it is bright enough, and it's an LED!

Cons: They take a full second to come on.

Other Thoughts: I purchased 2 for $12 (15-$3 off). For that price, I thought it would be worth it. If it weren't a hassle, I would return them because of the 1-second delay to power-on. Old CFL lights did that, but I have not heard of LED bulbs doing that. I thought LED bulbs were all instant-on. Obviously, not.

5 out of 5 eggsBrighter than I thought

Pros: Brighter than I expected. All the reviews say it isn't bright, but it sees to be as bright as a 40w equivalent CFL, just more directional.

Cons: It is about the same length of a CFL bulb. Hopefully LED light bulbs will become more like old style incadescent light bulbs (or even better incandescent fan bulbs)

Other Thoughts: I bought this as a test to replace CFLs. In most applications this bulb would work just fine, but others a more traditional omnidirectional lighting bulb would be desired, at least I think. At a discount though, these bulbs are a great value. If they fit your needs, snap them up. If you're not sure, buy one and try it.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Overall, a very good LED lamp. The stated lumens & color temp seem about right. Will be ordering others.

Cons: Hope they get cheaper so I can buy many more of these. Although the 600 lumens are probably correct, I doubt that it is equivalent to a 55 watt bulb.

Other Thoughts: Those that complained about the color temp apparently didn't check the specs. The color temperature is listed as 4500K, which is not a "warm" light. I prefer this temp rather than the 3000K lights which seem way too yellow/orange to me.

3 out of 5 eggsBlah

Pros: Light is white and bright. I would say every bit as bright as a 55 watt lightbulb should be.

Cons: Doesn't fit the light fixture I bought it for. The plastic above the threads make it to wide and won't screw down far enough to touch the light socket contact.
Doesn't dim. It does fit a lamp with a wall dimmer but when it's turned down it flickers and goes out.

Other Thoughts: I bought the bulb for a upward facing lamp in a room with my plasma TV. The bulb isn't much good to me for anything else except maybe my drop light.

3 out of 5 eggsArtificial light

Pros: It appears this light will fit in most Edison fixtures, and the price is low.

Cons: The light from this bulb is very artificial looking. I have purchased other LED bulbs, and worked with a company designing them. Getting that warm color that comes from an incandescent light has always been tricky when dealing with LEDs, but I have seen other companies come much closer than this light has (3M LED Advanced).

Other Thoughts: For now this light will be ok for an area that isn't used often, but I don't plan on using it in an area I spend most of my time in.

2 out of 5 eggsMisrepresented specs

Pros: Energy Efficient

Cons: Misrepresented. 600 lumens is more like a 40 watt bulb. A 60 watt incandescent bulb is more like 800 lumens. Also color temp is blue. Incandescent bulbs are more like 3,000 degrees. To replace a 60 watt bulb look for a 12 watt LED.
