5 out of 5 eggsThese are good.

Pros: Purchased 5 of these to test. Have been using over kitchen table since 11/2014. Wife required bulbs that looked like bulbs when installed so these have been great.

Cons: Momentary lag between flipping the switch and getting light, but it's full intensity right away unlike a CFL which have to warm up.

Other Thoughts: Happy enough that I just bought 18 more off shell shocker to finish out the house.

4 out of 5 eggsso far, so good

Pros: good quality, long lasting, does not get hot, low power usage. 8.2 watts.. Dont contain hazardous materials like CFL types. has a good even spread across the room, almost like the old incandescent types.

Cons: made in china, can not use in inclosed fixtures, short warranty time. only 2 years...

Other Thoughts: I have had these in use for over a month now. I usually leave my light on for about 8 hours a day, and so far, no real problems. I was worried that they would burn out because of the long length of time that they are left on. I have had some LED devices that I bought in the past that worked great if left on for only maybe 10 or 15 minutes at a time, but if I left it on for an hour, a lot of the little bulbs inside that device would burn out. I have not found that a problem with these.

I have seen remarks about them being used in enclosed fixtures. I believe that they should be OK to use in them, as long as it is not used for extended periods of time. From what I understand, the base of these, between the top bulb, and the screw in base, is a type of ceramic and that base material is used to transfer heat away from the bulb, but if you have them in enclosed fixtures, it traps that heat in, and the bulb can overheat because of it not being able to release the heat. basically, using them for short periods of time in enclosed fixtures, that gives the fixture enough time to release that heat, but over hours, it is not a good idea.

I noticed that when I first started using them, every so often, the light seemed to kind of like, flicker, where it would not go out, but you could see a kind of blink in the light. It may be do to power inconsistencies, or it may have been something to do with a burn in period for the bulb, because it does not really do it now, like it did it when they were new. I cant say which it was, but just know, you may run into it, and if you do, dont worry, the bulb is not about to go out.

Unlike CFL's, these seem to keep their brightness over time. I know that the older CFL types get, the less bright that they become, where after months of use, a 60w equivalent will become more like a 40w. But these so far, the brightness, even after a couple hundred hours of use, are still about as bright as when they were first put in. This was verified comparing one in use next to a new, never been used bulb. These also have a more of a natural light then CFL's, so if you dont like the yellow tint from CFL's, these would be a good choice for you.

Overall, i got mine when they were on sale. I dont like the high price of these, but considering CFL's use about 13w vs these at 8 watts, CFL's have an stated average life of 8,000 hours, where these have 25,000 hours, I figured I would give these a try because in the long run, these would be a better savings over time. but only time will tell if they last like they say they will.

I deducted one star due to the flickering of the light that I saw when I first started using them and due to the company not standing up for their product over a length of time that they say they should last. This is evident due to the 2 year warranty.. They should last 3 years if left on 24/7, so only giving a 2 year warranty says to me they do not have a lot of confidence in them over time, but I will fin

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The color and light output compares well with incandescent bulbs

Cons: The description does not mention the bulbs can't be used in an enclosed fixture.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat now. Will let you know in 10 years.

Pros: Good color, brightness, build quality.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Put 3 in my kitchen light fixture (which is enclosed). This product replaced 3 CFL's (60 watt equiv). I don't notice a difference in brightness. I like the color of the light output on these bulbs better the comparably color-labeled CFL's. There is the briefest of delays before they come on, but nothing that I find annoying.

When the kitchen light has been on for a couple hours, the enclosed fixture is only slightly warm. I worry this may shorten the life of the bulbs, but I'd worry more if got quite warm. My final evaluation of these bulbs will have to wait 10 years. If they last that long, 5 stars all the way! Long life is the main reason I'm buying LED's at their higher price (compared to CFL's). I'll edit this review if one fails before then!

5 out of 5 eggsGreate 60W (ish) replacement LED

Pros: Bright and uniform light.
230 degree coverage.
Same size and shape as incandescent a19 bulbs.
Low power usage.
Bargain when on sale.

Cons: 1/4 second delay when turning on (not instant on).
Not dimmable.

Other Thoughts: I have replaced about 30 bulbs in my house over the last 2 years with LED bulbs from multiple manufactures. My biggest gripe has been the narrow beam angle on most of them. The ones that have a better beam angle usually have uneven light distribution. Then, there is the problem of their size and shape and getting them to fit in the light fixture. This LED has none of these problems. On top of it all, it feels solid and well made. Plus, I think its light output has the perfect warmth. I have determined that, for me, the 3000k band of light is the perfect mix of the traditional yellow (2700k) of an incandescent and the natural light (5000k+) given off by the sun.

one review says the bulb is dim. I do not have that problem. The 2 I bought are very bright.

Another review mentions the 17 year life span. I read that this number is due to the fact that their rating assumes 4 hours a day use while other brands rate their at 3 hours a day.

The only gripe is have is the 1/4 second delay from the time I throw the switch until the light turns on. This is not a big deal and I am not bothered by, as long as there are no other bulbs on the same circuit that do turn on instantly. I do not care about being dimmable but it may be an issue for you.

I also bought the dimmer version (w73001) at the same time. They are identical in every respect. I am running them side by side and the difference in brightness is almost unnoticeable. You have to be looking for it to notice.

4 out of 5 eggsReturn to Candlelight

Pros: Great price on sale. Low energy consumption. Nice color color. Works. Good for ambient light.

Cons: Dim. Lights up a room, but if the room isn't small the lighting is poor. I put one in a lamp in my small living room and it seems like a big night light. Not real good at lighting up a room.

Other Thoughts: Thankfully, I actually use the lamp in the living room as a night light that is always on. The CFL this bulb replaced was brighter, but it was 23 watts. Overall new style bulbs just seem dim. I'm not buying the equivalency ratings. The 23 watt CFL wasn't near as bright as a 100 watt incandescent, even though it is supposed to be. Better than the awful, dim blue temp LED bulbs in a hotel I recently stayed at, at least.

4 out of 5 eggsGood value

Pros: $5.50 during Shellshocker sale
230 degree beam angle
lower power consumption than other 60W equivalent (of course this is only 55W)
Worked with my garage door openers

Cons: CRI 80, this is LOW. CRI = Color Rendering Index. 100 is perfect (incandescent as the standard). >90 is good
2 yr warranty
660 lumen is less than other
17 year life span is lower than others

Other Thoughts: I put these in these in my garage door openers. You have to be careful with LEDs in garage door openers because the can interfere with the remotes (RF interference). These seems to shorten the distance the remote would work but only a little. But, I don't need to open my garage door a mile away.

I didn't care that the CRI was low. They're in my garage. Plus there's a yellow plastic cover that goes over the bulbs any way.

I mainly brought them because they were the cheapest LED I could fine.

I figure in the garage door openers, they should last forever.

Be sure you clean the lcontacts and adjust them, if needed, in the garage door opener light bulb sockets. Mine had some corrosion and were slight bend out of shape. The bulbs didn't like that. They would come on or they flashed.

5 out of 5 eggsWarm LED

Pros: These were perfect. Warm light and just bright enough to light up a good size room. I have bought many LED bulbs and these were the best yet and at a great price

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: LED brightness vary from bulb to bulb and brand to brand. These were the most consistent

4 out of 5 eggsGood but I'd still buy Cree

Pros: *$5
*Pefect size
*Bright and uniform light
*Only 8.2 Watts
*Relatively lightweight
*Good looking, much more attractive than most other LED and CFL bulbs.

Cons: Slow to turn on, not so slow that I check my light switch, but definitely slow enough to notice. When I put it in my light fixture with two CFL bulbs it's obvious which one is the LED bulb since it takes so long to turn on.

The "glass" is actually plastic, it doesn't effect the lightbulb at all, but feels a little bit cheap. I prefer the Cree weight and feel to their bulbs.

Other Thoughts: Remember its 3000K, it definitely looks a little white against my other CFL and incandescent bulbs.
