1 out of 5 eggsshinola

Pros: mellow lighting equivalent to incandescent

Cons: 2 of the 7 I've installed out of the 10-pack I bought have burned out already in less than one year.

Other Thoughts: I pay for electricity with my rent so that's not the issue. I want this technology to live up to its potential. Installed 6 bulbs last April. First one failed within 6 months. If that's the actual lifespan, advertise it as such, but that doesn't justify the +500% increase over the pre-Edison technology. I'll try to get the 2 failed bulbs replaced within the 3-year warranty stipulation, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid these!

Pros: Decent light when they worked

Cons: Purchased 3 of these 7 months ago. One of them started blinking non-stop and then going out completely. This thing didn't even last close to what standard incandescent bulb would last. This was a big waste of money. Avoid buying this brand as they are garbage. Newegg, please stop selling lights from this company.

1 out of 5 eggsHigh Failure Rate

Pros: It is bright. No buzzing sounds.

Cons: There is a one second delay. Light is a little directional. High (50%) failure rate.

Other Thoughts: I bought 4 bulbs to test them out about 11 months ago. I liked them in general except the 1 second turn-on delay. Also the directional light making it only good for fixtures that shines the light downward.

What I hated: The bulbs die out one by one.
The first one died right after one month. It is on 6 hours a day, so I got maybe 180 hours out of it. It started blinking non-stop every other second, and sometimes just shuts itself off completely.
The second bulb is dying as of yesterday. It started blinking and looks like it is only a few days before it turns into bulb #1.
50% failure rate in less than a year, that is a horrible number.

3 out of 5 eggsReally Nice....until it went out

Pros: Price was right accurate color

Cons: Only lasted 6 months.

Other Thoughts: Just had one of the 5 that I purchased start flickering a week ago and then went out last night. No RMA option, since it's only 30 days via Newegg. Only option is to try and contact overseas company now.... for a single bulb. Hardly seems worth the hassle, which is probably what they are banking on. 3 yr warranty .. oh, ok.

Otherwise I would have given them 4 or 5 stars.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes it's job

Pros: They've been working fine for ~9 months. I bought 20 and would have had multiple CFL failures by now. The base doesn't look brown and nasty like CFL's which always look like they're about ready to burst into flames.

Cons: There's quite a bit of variation in the turn on times. Most are .5 to 1.5 seconds but some are >2. Could be because they're in a cool basement.

Other Thoughts: I would have initially bought more if it hadn't been for the cone shape. These wouldn't work too well in a ceiling fan with the bulbs horizontal. I'm glad now because I wouldn't have been happy with the random turn-on time in a living area.

Cons: Price, but should go down as more are made.

1 out of 5 eggslasted only 6 months

Pros: bright (for a 40 watt equivalent)

Cons: Only lasted 6 months. Working good then flashed twice (like a camera flash) then went out. It's dead! Used 5 hours/day for less than 6 months. Warranty may be for 6 years but no customer support except for a foreign phone number (in China?).

Other Thoughts: From now on, I'll buy GE brand LED bulbs from local Sam's Club. Sam's accepts defective products in the store for the life of the warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsTerrific bulbs

Pros: Life of the bulb and driver, so far. Five year warranty. Lower power usage. Light spectrum.

Cons: Half a second delay when powered but not a nuisance

Other Thoughts: I've bought 12 of these bulbs so far and have had no issues with them yet. The five year warranty, I feel, is terrific.

1 out of 5 eggstrash

Pros: none

Cons: wheres the savings!!there is none

Other Thoughts: these are supposed to save you money,,that is %^,,they don't even last as long as a 20 cent incandescent. im going down to Home depot to buy regular old time bulbs b4 they are phased out...i will buy a few hundred to last me,,these so called energy efficient cfl, leds are so bad and so overpriced its insane to buy them...
