Very dissappointed, pay a bit more for something better
- Pros: For the price, this case looks great and has plenty of internal drive space. It's too bad that you can barely use all that space (see below).
- Cons: I bought this case to set up a reliable RAID storage server, so the number of internal 3.5 slots was impressive. The only problem is: only one side of the case opens!! So you can forget screwing in your hard drives (or optical drives) tightly, or getting them out easily. It'll be fun to watch the vibrations quickly eat through what is supposed to be a reliable storage system.
Another big deal is that the case is *VERY* flimsy. I read the NewEgg reviews and decided to go with this thing anyway... big mistake, it was dented during shipping (very slightly, not a big deal), and i can easily use my pinky on any side to make a dent. You could practically mold this thing into a sculpture!
- Other Thoughts: Don't make the same mistake as me; don't waste your money on this. Chances are you'll either have to deal with returns hassle, or find yourself with a nicely creased case after a few months of using it. Spend a bit more and get something decent that will last.
3 of 3 cases FAIL
- Pros: Price was cheap. Steel was straight and sides fit tight. Most of the steel edges in the case are rolled to prevent cuts. Clean looking case.
- Cons: Out of three cases ordered all of them had the front bezel standoffs broken. Two of the cases had all of the standoffs broken so you couldn't even attach the bezel to the case. Some of the buttons to eject DVD/CD drives did not seat right. One case didn't have the hardware package of screws and mobo standoffs. One front bezel didn't have the power LED seated in it's holder. Plastic is cheap and very brittle. You have to open a panel on the bezel to access USB ports.
- Other Thoughts: I bought three of these cases to setup a clients office network and I am glad that the clients won't be interacting with these desktop systems that much. I have received worse cases before during builds, but I though I would go with these as they were more expensive. I was wrong, these cases disappointed me from the start. For a case under $30 + shipping at over half the price these FAIL. After mixing up some epoxy and taking the knife to them the cases worked, but I won't ever buy these again. Too bad I didn't have the time to send them back for replacement.
Great Value
- Pros: Plenty of room, well ventilated.
- Cons: The metal is a bit thin, but it goes together very well. What more do you need. If you need to install an ATX (full size) there are 3 standoffs missing.
- Other Thoughts: I was looking for a cheap black case for a media computer / family room and this one actually looks pretty good.
