5 out of 5 eggsCompact & Conservative good looks

Pros: Attractive
Compact
Light weight
Sturdy case
Inc. PSU

Cons: USB 2.0
No media reader
PSU only 300w

Other Thoughts: This is a good case for those looking for a PC with a small footprint. It is well built , good dimensions and nice to look at (the blue led ring that another reviewer found "obnoxious" is part of it's charm IMO) . I did not have much use for the cooling adapter and removed it to increase useable space; the case should come with a better cooling solution then the provided adapter which I think is maybe useless anyway. The PSU mine came with does have a hefty feel to it and I've had no issues with it after 9 months use but would like to see more watts.

The case did not come with a media reader but there is a 3.5 inch bay at the very bottom that is accessible thru a small hinged door that could be used for one.

I have a 2.5 notebook drive in mine but it does have room for a 3.5. If you plan to install two drives use notebook drives or SSD's stacked. I have a MSI board with an AMD A8 cpu installed.

Keep in mind the small dimensions of this case and don't try to do too much with it and you should be fine.

5 out of 5 eggsLittle Black Box

Pros: Love these cases! They're small enough to hide behind most 22" and above monitors, they look nice and with the right hardware they are nearly silent. Since I started using these cases over 18 months ago, I've ordered 200 for my organization and side business.

Cons: The only issue with these towers is the relatively small interiors. If you are not careful, they can be a pain to work in.

Other Thoughts: I use these for basic office PC's. The hardware I use is a 65W or less CPU with onboard graphics, 8GB RAM, and a SSD. No optical drive needed.

3 out of 5 eggsNice case for 24/7 HTPC PSU fan died at 5 months

Pros: Great size and reasonable good looks for an HTPC. My wife asked me to kill the disk access indicator (which was easy to do). I had no problems using an AMD A10-5800K and stock fan.

Cons: Yesterday, at five months, we started hearing mechanical noises. Pulled open the case and the PSU fan would periodically jerk forward a little and with a loud buzz and with no obstructions (I can turn it by hand, but it is stiff).

Other Thoughts: In Win site says that their rma is for direct customers only and to see where I bought the box for warranty. Newegg of course says to see the manufacturer. I need something now so I ordered a new (non In Win) SFX psu but I'll try to get the existing PSU replaced and keep it as a spare (or use in another build). We'll see how In Win responds.

Manufacturer Response:

We apologize for any inconvenience that you have experienced. This is not correct for RMA that is for direct customer only. In order for us to assist you promptly, please kindly contact our RMA dept at 909-348-0588 ext 741 or email us at customerservice@in-win.com for the RMA number. We will process your case as soon as we can. Thank you.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Ordered this to build a HTPC.
- Compact case
- Quiet and cool

Cons: This case has given me problems since I first purchased it. There's a problem which causes the computer to short out on the case. When I was first building my PC I was baffled as to how everything worked when I had the case open, but as soon as I closed it up, it wouldn't even turn on. I somehow managed to get everything in position so it didn't short out, but then about 8 months later it just started shorting out on itself again for no reason. I'm currently using the PC with the side of the case off and everything works fine, but you know, I'd kinda like to have the thing closed up.

Other problems:
- Doesn't come with an actual instruction manual and assembly is unintuitive.
- Obnoxious blue power ring LED (easily obscured, just annoying when watching a movie in a dark room)

So it would be 4 stars from me if not for the whole not actually being able to operate the computer with the case closed up thing. I'm very annoyed, but not annoyed enough to pay for shipping/replacement costs.

3 out of 5 eggsGood, now that I never have to open it again

Pros: - Fine user experience, once built
- Slick looking, great for HTPC's or sitting on your entertainment center
- Nearly silent PSU fan (hopefully, at 300W)
- Sufficient cooling (without cooling plate)

Cons: - Frustrating builder experience (see other thoughts)
- no screws included for mobo or drive mounting
- no instructions included except pictures for cooling plate, barely considered instructions at all
- cooling plate did not fit with my choice of motherboard or RAM
- side panels include chunks of the top and bottom of the case, making it incredibly difficult to tuck away unwanted power cables in the bottom bay (exterior 3.5) because they stick out the bottom.
- 3 total drive bays, only 2 sata power connectors on PSU, not a problem for me, but maybe for some
- motherboard standoffs already mounted, but none on the bottom right where I could have used support while plugging in many connectors.

Other Thoughts: There is a "cooling plate" inside this case that directs the air from the CPU fan out the side vent. It has two parts, the frame, and the adjustable intake. The intake is supposed to adjust the aim to account for the different placements of the cpu and fan on different motherboards. Mine was too far south on the motherboard, even with the available adjustments. After I ditched the intake, I realized I still couldn't completely close the case without squeezing really hard. It turns out my RAM was 2 or 3mm too big, and was pushing on the frame of the cooling plate. (This may have been my mistake, but I saw no hits of needing low profile memory.) So I got rid of the frame too. It was almost completely blocking the back vent anyway, and removing it let me route my optical drive cables somewhere besides right in front of the cpu fan. Now I've overclocked my A8-5600k from 3.6 to 3.9GHz, and it's at 61C under load with the stock cooler.

With it completely removed, the cooling seems fine, but the case is still difficult to close completely. But the lone fan, my CPU fan still blows half of it's air directly into my optical drive.

I really hope I never have to open this case again. If I don't have to, I will be satisfied. It was frustrating to get almost no instructions with a non-traditional case. I almost broke off part of the front panel without them. A single diagram of the case interior and 10 screws would have gone a long way with me.

If my optical drive fails because of heat, I will surely return and give this a 1 egg review. Otherwise I can't really give it more than 3 eggs. This isn't a horrible product, but I see few signs of a quality manufacturer. I want a company to go out of there way to satisfy a customer, not risk short changing them to save money.

5 out of 5 eggsHas been running 24/7

Pros: Compact and nice looking case.
I'm not into "bling" and prefer to have a silent and non-distracting case (think office environment) but the LED light around the power button grew on me so I left it connected.

Cons: Low quality power supply, but it has lasted over a year now and cannot be heard over the stock Intel CPU fan inside the case.

Other Thoughts: In the future I will just bu separate case and PS.
Again .. the included PS has run 24/7 for a year+ without issue, so it's just a preference - not a complaint.

4 out of 5 eggsnice but

Pros: This case really looks nice. it is a good compact design.

Cons: The quick mount drive tabs did not come with the case.
Power supply options are limited with a microATX motherboard.
If you use a MiniITX motherboard you can fit a larger powersupply.
If putting in an DVD rom or BRD in you will have to shop carefully for a heat sink that is down- or up-draft and under 65mm tall or offset fins toward the back of the case.

Other Thoughts: if thinking of using this case for a media center on a shelf, cooling is going to be an issue. i had to cut an opening for a front mounted fan.
also i had to change the fan on the CPU to UP-draft to avoid drawing in hot air.
With a little modding , i got the case to be a good shelf HTPC

4 out of 5 eggsalmost perfect

Pros: Slim, considering it holds mATX with full height cards. Room for a full size Optical drive, an external 3.5" (useful for esata, USB, and SDcard reader). and a internal space for a full size 3.5" drive. almost all the spec one would want.

Cons: cooling is limited. My system works fine, but these are the limitation to note, especially when pushing your system with Prime95 or games.

1. no mount point for fans, especially to cool off HDD area. relying on the PSU for all the air flow is lacking. One of my 3.5" 7200rpm HDD died after much use. End up replacing it with a 2.5" drive to keep the heat down.

2. The PPCT cooling design may not fit your motherboard's location for the CPU/heatsink. I took out the plastic piece so the stock CPU/heatsink would fit.

3. though there is room for 4 expansion slots, it lacks airflow to put any card that would generate much heat, eg: video card. I have no need, as the intel Sandy onboard video ware enough for my use.

4. some ppl mention PSU issue, though mine works fine.

Other Thoughts: The design can be better if cooling can be improve.

Add a couple 120/92mm fan mount points.

Refocus PPCT to move air around the case to cool off multiple components: HDD, chipset, CPU, expansion cards.

Ensure there are air/inlet outlet in multple places in case the user place the case in a position that blocks air from certain surface. (eg: putting a book on the top.) You can't be prepare for all type of use, but it helps.

The lacking of quality efficient PSU should not be a complain at this feature and price/point. It should work though.

4 out of 5 eggsexcellent case!

Pros: I bought this case 2.4 years ago - wow! I put an i5 in it and the beefiest graphics card that would fit in the slot at the time (Radeon HD 5770).

After all this time I can safely say that I would definitely buy this one again. I have built many HTPCs over the years and this has been my favorite case.

The cooling in it is excellent. My build has plenty of computing horsepower but it never gets too hot, and the interior stays pretty clean. Because of the efficient cooling and 300 watt power supply, you can build a rig that will play some pretty intensive games that many HTPCs or laptops would choke on. Yet, it's very small - about the size of a shoe box if a shoe box were square.

It's very good looking, and the overall build quality is satisfactory. Just looking at it, you would think it would cost more than it really does.

Cons: There is only one complaint - the power supply isn't the highest quality. It doesn't weigh much, looks cheap, and I've read that some people have had them burn out. I knew that when I bought it and decided that since the price of the case was so reasonable, I could afford to replace it with a higher quality one down the road.

So far my power supply is still kicking, but its fan did die about 9 months ago. Replacing the fan was easy and cheap. If it came with a high quality power supply, (even if the price went up a bit), I would have given it one more star.

Other Thoughts: Next time I build an HTPC, I'll probably use this case.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent case

Pros: - Extremely low noise power supply fan
- The microATX smallest case I have ever seen
- Full size extension slots
- Easy to install, no sharp edges
- Great manufacturing quality
- Cool airflow vent system for the CPU
- Very nice faceplate

Cons: - Power and HDD LED super bright (put some layers packing tape on it to dim it down)
- 350W Power supply may be on the weak side for a big honkin' video card

Other Thoughts: I like that the optical drive and USB ports are hidden behind a door which makes the front plate look nice and clean. I bought 2 and put them next to my TVs as media players and these things rock!
