4 out of 5 eggsQuick Update

Pros: Just a quick update to say thanks to InWin for sending replacement latches to me (see prior review).

I'd give the case 4.5 stars if could (also wish I could just edit/reply to my previous review).

Cons: N/A

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT case!

Pros: I picked up this case (after a LOT of shopping and comparing) for my (admittedly mediocre) first build. The case FAR outshines the components I stuck into it. This will probably be the case I use for my next build. There's lots of space, there's great cable management, lots of features, but not too many. For the price, I think this is the best case out there. I had a friend helping me with my first build, and he was very impressed with this case, and he's a seasoned (jaded) pro!

Cons: It's a little bigger than I was expecting, but the measurements are right there - I just didn't really look. I guess my stoopidity is not a con for this product.

Other Thoughts: Great case. I would definitely recommend it.

4 out of 5 eggsDoesn't suck

Pros: o Relatively inexpensive
o Fairly roomy
o Drive bays pre-wired for SATA and power
o Raised mobo mountings for common mount points (I needed to install one mounting for a standard ATX mobo)
o Pretty lights
o Largely tool-less install

Cons: The latches that hold the sides of the case in place feel a little flimsy and come off easily.

It would seem my case shipped with one of these clips missing. :(

The case doesn't offer much in terms of cable/wire management. A few holes but not much depth behind the motherboard. As far as I could see there was no way to route the 8 pin power cable for my mobo except in front. (mobo was ASRock Z77 Extreme4)

Other Thoughts: Neutral:

Silly locked hatch for hot swapping drives (as others have mentioned the lock is sort of odd since removing the side of the computer is reasonably trivial

No front ports for eSATA or Firewire (lack of demand?)

Bottom line: I'm reasonably happy with the case but may look elsewhere next time.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Mysticeti,

Thank you for your support for In-win products. It seems that you are missing a small particular clip to enclose the case. We would like to send you the missing piece to ensure you have the best experience with In-win products. Please contact our service dept @ customerservice@in-win.com or give us a call at 909-348-0588 so we may serve you to the fullest we can.

Sincerely,

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case For All Builds

Pros: This case is just fantastic on all levels, first of all this was my first build and inwin's BUC case just made it so easy.

-PrePlaced Standoff's
-Easy Harddrive installation
-Can Change HardDrives from the outside of the case with a key
-TOOL-LESS BUILD, Except to screw in the mobo
-3 QUIET fans, i cant even hear it at all there that quiet

- Nice Side Panel Removal Design.
-USB 3.0 Area on top, great for phones and other things.
-PCI Expansion tool-less install , just so great

Cons: Only thing about this case that i had a small problem with is how they advsertised the esata port on this website but instead they added another usb 3.0 to the top. But i guess small things like this really stick out when everything else about this case is just so amazing

Other Thoughts: Great build for new builders and old

3 out of 5 eggsNot the case shown on the web site!

Pros: Very large for mid-tower case, good quality, easy to work inside, nice design, supposed to have (see Cons) a lot of ports: USB 3.0 x 1 (top), USB 2.0 x 2, eSATA x 1, HD/AC'97 Audio (front), great ventilation - options to install up to 5 fans (2 fans are included), hard drive EZ-swap door on the left panel, great attention to little details

Cons: I received the case that is not the one shown on a web site! If you ordered this case because you wanted to have an eSATA port on the front of the case (like I did), you are in for a big surprise. There is NO eSATA port at all! There is a place in the shape of the eSATA port on the front of the case, but it is plugged! Instead of an eSATA port there is however an extra USB 3.0 port at the top of the case near the storage tray, so you get: USB 3.0 x 2 (TOP), USB 2.0 x 2, HD/AC'97 Audio (Front) Ports. Hardly an improvement! Who had such a idiotic idea to change the originally great design into something so much boring. I would never even consider this case if I new it had only USB ports and no eSATA.

Other Thoughts: After calming down a little bit, I have to admit that I shouldn't have given this case a 3-egg rating because this case is great! It deserves 5-eggs but only with eSATA port on the front like it is shown and described on the web site. I have to say that I am very disappointed with newegg.com for misinformation about the product. I never had any problem with anything I ordered here, so this experience comes to me as a big surprise. If you guys there know that it is a different product, show it as a different product and let your customers decide what they want to get. Don't make a decision of sending to us something that we didn't order.
Newegg! Please, send me my case!

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad with a few minor issuse

Pros: It has plenty of cooling and roomy for a mid tower. I like the somewhat tooles design of it. And the fact that the power supply blows out the bottom of the case and has a removable filter. Love the concept of how you put the drives in and dock them. And it was a relatively easy build for my computer guy to do (I have problems with my hands so I no longer do my own builds)

Cons: The back plane where the hard drives dock had to be soldered and the front light dose not light up (light not a big issue). Other then that i had the case for a couple months now and I am happy with it. I was told tho i have to be careful plugging in the drives tho do to the fact the connections had to be soldered.

Other Thoughts: Mostly happy with the case. Tho if you ask if I would have bought the case knowing the issues it had... Well I am not sure I think I might have. I am not to disappointed with the case tho just a couple minor issues but so far a good case.

4 out of 5 eggsGood case

Pros: Good size - not too large but large enough to accomodate several hard drives, DVD-ROM drives, etc. Well cooled with 2 fans one on front and one on top. Removable side area allows for inserting and removing hard drives without having to take off the side of the case.

Cons: The wiring for power switch, USB inputs on the front panel and top panel makes it very difficult to remove the panels. They need to make it so it is independent of the panels. This is my biggest complaint.

1 out of 5 eggsThe Buc Front Panel

Pros: The docking stations are great

Cons: I receive my replacement front panel on 7-10-12. On one side of the panel the plastic clips that hold it to the case were all a broken off. abut the catcher was that the missing clips were not in the package they gave me. I have E-mail them to see what will be my next step. Do I ship it to them again and pay more out of cost??? Or do I get another case? IT took them almost 10 days to get this panel. So do I spend more money on shipping it back and wait another 10 days? IF I do that I am out 100$ In Win needs to check who is taking out and shipping replacement parts! So Now I will E-Mail Jerry Liao Again!

Other Thoughts: Nice Case....But I should have gotten the Buc 101 because the I/O button stay in place.

4 out of 5 eggsFront Panel battles!

Pros: 1) top tray was a plus laying a ipod or flash drive on top 2) lots of room for ssd or large drives 3) Lot of room for third party heat sinks 4) with the install bracket hard drives and SSD drives comes out easy. LOVE the filers!

Cons: when taking off the front panel the wires needs to be pull out. Possible damages to the power wires, reset wires, etc. One main reason you need to remove the front panel is to get to the front fan filter. Right now I am waiting for a new front panel due to the start up button blew up!

Other Thoughts: The BUC 101 is the upgrade to this case. the case start up wires can not be move. Compare both Buc and Buc 101! I believe you would pick the Buc 101 due to the improvement and upgrades. but I do give the case a 4 only because of the front panel problems it doesn't get a 5. Plus the Buc 101 has 2 more filters than the buc!
