5 out of 5 eggsSuper small form, non-nuc build, that hangs on your monitor

Pros: Super small form

VESA mount

Built in small form PS is quieter than expected

Cons: Non-standard PS is a serious unknown. There are lots of comments on the previous version of this model that discuss the noise pollution and durability issues with it. It happens that this one is pretty quiet so far, and I have found that replacement OEM PS are readily available if a bit costly.

The VESA mount/stand needs to come with some little rubber feet/isolators. The unit tends to "walk" around a bit while on a desktop.

The power and HDD activity LED are bring enough to be seen from Mars. As another poster here suggested, it is a good idea to color some tape and mask the brightness, or disconnect the connectors from the mobo after build. This is annoyingly bright in a bedroom at two in the morning.

Other Thoughts: I built this case with the AMD A8 7600 and an MSI A68H mobo with built in WiFi

I had a very specific purpose and placement in mind for this build, so when I found this case I was very happy. My other option was the Antec case which only has a 90W PS. It would have forced me into a less powerful and less useful build for the future. I was very happy with the way the build went. I will say that you MUST look at your mobo layout in reference to the way the power runs for the SATA drives underneath. There is only one hole to route from the top (mobo) to the bottom (drives) section of the case. It would be easy to need a SATA power extender, as well as a longer SATA cable if your mobo connectors are not near that hole.

The VESA mount/stand is small. The monitor (tv) I was planning to hang it on has a wider mount for putting it on the wall. I need to find or make an adapter for the smaller mount holes. This may not be an issue with PC based monitors.

Assembly and installation of components as well as OS were a breeze. There is nothing to the build, so there really aren't much by way of drivers, etc. to deal with. The inside of the case presented to sharp edges to speak of, and it is quiet enough not to be bothersome even on the stock fan(s).

In spite of the cases shortcoming, for the price and the form it provides I could not see rating it less than 5 stars. The only thing I remain skeptical on is the lasting quality of and availability of replacement PS when and if this one fails.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case, non-standard power supply

Pros: It's really amazing you can fit a whole computer in something like this. Obviously you cant fit a power-house machine in here, but I had a plan to fit a 6th generation Core i5 in this to get some decent performance (see cons).

The ODD and SSD slots are cleverly placed. Really an impressive piece of layout and design.

Cons: The power LED (like many cases out there) is waaaay too bright.

The power supply is a non-standard size. Information I found lead me to believe that it was a Mini-ITX power supply. Turns out that is not accurate. You cannot use anything other than their PSU or external PSU. This really messed up my plan. 120w really isn't in the safe margin to run a Core i5.

Power supply runs very hot. It's clearly VERY inefficient. Yet another problem I had planned to solve with a different power supply.

Other Thoughts: I ended up putting an FM2+ system in this when the Core i5 plan didn't work out (A8-7600), and donated it to a nearby place that helps homeless people get jobs... so it will not be going unused.

Aside from my annoyances though, it's actually a pretty good case for a lower-power machine. Keep your machine in the 100 watt range and this won't disappoint.

5 out of 5 eggsITX Desktop Computer Case

Pros: A great ITX Desktop Computer Case, fit the build for this project.

Cons: it's a bit tight, but guess that comes with building a ITX Computer.

5 out of 5 eggsIN WIN Excels again

Pros: Perfect for the user who wants to tuck their computer behind a monitor or keep it on a shelf out of sight. Excellent cable management, plenty of room in the case, and fits Mini-ITX LGA 1150 boards.

Cons: Has pre-drilled holes for Wifi antennas, but they're in the hard drive cavity making them useless as I have not seen one wifi antenna cable long enough to reach into the motherboard compartment. Power supply can be a little loud, but I believe it depends on what processor you're running. I have built i3's and i5's and the i5's are definitely louder than the i3.

Other Thoughts: I want wish that In.Win would make some minor improvements to this case.

1.) USB 3.0 Please
2.) Either add or sell a SD Card reader that is compatible with this case. They have the tray and mount and cut out, but I have looked high and low and found nothing.
3.) Add another SATA power connector to the PSU to run dual hard drives. Also put four holes in the Optical Drive tray to mount it.
4.) Get rid of the needless cut outs for Serial ports and put your wifi antenna cutouts there.
5.) Make the power cable a standard ATX style power cord instead of a mickey mouse laptop style.

This case is good but just minor adjustments and it would be perfect.

4 out of 5 eggsLittle disappointed

Pros: Nice size, no wasted space. Cable management is a breeze. Looks great on the shelf with the rest of the computer gear.

Cons: Unfortunately, this case, no matter what, will not work with my AMD mother board. Works great with my ECS NM70-I2(1.0) Intel Celeron 1037U 1.80GHz Intel NM70 Mini ITX Motherboard/CPU/VGA Combo. But I put in my BIOSTAR A68N-5000 AMD A4-5000 Quad-Core APU Mini ITX Motherboard/CPU/VGA Combo, and nothing. Power light comes on but no boot, no nothing. Biostar board works great in another case, but will do nothing in this one and this is the case I wanted for my new build. If it was not for that, it would be 5 stars easy. Fan in this is not loud at all so maybe they did something about that, but can not, no matter what I do, get my AMD board to power up. No beeps, no nothing. Oh well, there is always Antec :)

5 out of 5 eggsBest case for the money

Pros: Slim form factor, wall mountable, pedestal mountable, easy to take apart, clean edges, no complaints, comes with a PSU that CAN handle a 65W i7

Cons: My cons are all about the power supply. It does the trick, but there are things that a prospective buyer NEEDS to know.

-PSU looks to be proprietary. This could be bad if it fails. No mention on IN WIN's website if they sell the replacements but for the price of the case, you may as well buy another case if the PSU does fail as you'll be removing everything to replace it anyways.
- PSU is only 120W. You can run a Haswell Core i-Series with this, but the only one's compatible are the i5-4440S and the i7-4790S and you lose overclocking, but why would you want that in this small of a case? Any other processor has to have a TDP of less than 65W.
- PSU was almost too loud on half of my units. It seemed to be worse on the i5 units than the i3's that I built. The noise is not loud, but definitely audible.

Other Thoughts: I wrote a previous review that outlined the optical port was not ambidextrous and I have to renege that statement. The tray for the optical drive is reversible so that when you mount it, the tray opens the right way.

I have purchased 15 of these. Each one has been very easy to use and assemble. If you're planning on using an Intel 1150 processor, do not use an aftermarket heatsink, it may not fit. The case gives you about 1/4" clearance with the stock Intel heatsink. I cannot attest to AMD as I have never used their newer desktop processors in any of my machines.

1 out of 5 eggsVery loud power supply

Pros: Small

Cons: So loud that it makes it unusable in many ways you need a little computer.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdating my previous review

Pros: See my prior review on this case

Cons: Retracting 2 cons from my previous post.

Other Thoughts: I am updating my review as I received 3 more of these and just completed the build today. To update, I retract 2 of my Cons on this case.

- Optical drive tray design
The three new cases I received have an ambidextrous optical drive tray, something my first case did not have. A newer revision? I don't know, but all three of them went together without a hitch once I discovered this.

- Power supply noise
I guess it was an isolated incident. Again, maybe I got a newer version with an updated PSU but I can barely tell the computer is on with the exception of the LEDs.

All three of my cases came with the SATA cable for the DVD drive and an extra one for the hard drive, something my first case did not have.

Overall, I am still pleased with the design of the case and the aesthetics of it. Will definitely be using these until they're discontinued.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value for small footprint case

Pros: - Holds two 2.5 drives if DVD drive is not being used.
- PSU included will work with an i3 and i5 under 65W.
- Plenty of space for expansion devices, precut holes for Wifi Antennas, USB 3.0 ports, and card reader.
- Cover fits the heatsink and fan from an i5-4440S with no issues.
- Plenty of ventilation, which isn't important for a Haswell processor, but definitely keeps the temps down.
- Includes the SATA cable for an optical drive. That in itself is a $5-10 part that you don't have to buy.
- Although not toolless, it was easy to take the case completely apart. Was able to complete my install in under 30 minutes

Cons: - PSU fan is a little loud when pedestal mounted as the stand covers the vent slightly
- Stupid design for the optical drive port when wall/monitor mounted. When wall mounted, the optical drive opens with the drive facing the wall with only about an inch of room. No way to flip the bracket for the optical drive to make it open opposite.
- No USB 3.0 ports on the case, but not enough to knock off any eggs as most Mini-ITX boards lack the capability and the internal connector for USB 3 is so BIG.
- Has a slot for a SD reader, but good luck finding a compatible reader, even from the manufacturer, again, not a big deal, I don't require that feature, but may be of importance to someone else.

Other Thoughts: Bottom line, I purchased this case for a small build. I hesitated on it before because the pictures make it look the size of a larger Micro-ATX case. I am glad I got it as it works perfectly for my builds. I just ordered 3 more because they offer so much for a low price. I was using a slightly larger case and what it made up for in portability, lacked in other areas. Glad that i purchased this case and will be using them until Newegg stops selling them.

5 out of 5 eggsSTELLAR music machine case

Pros: Tiny. Has VESA mounts. Has internal PSU that will more than power 65 watt TDP or lower processors with an IGP and a single hard drive. Fits mini-ITX boards (although, barely!). Comes with all the cables you need. Huge piece of black mesh on the side that makes it feel open-air.

Cons: No internal fans. Won't fit much more than a stock HSF, and I doubt it will even fit the HSF that came with my 5800K (good thing I ain't using that in this case). Needs another 2.5" drive mount.

Other Thoughts: Currently running a VIA C7 mITX board, half gig of RAM, and Server 2003 in this. It makes just enough heat to sort of feel like a running computer. Great daily driver, and a wonderful music-only machine. Just...make sure you have a CPU cooler that is literally no taller than your motherboard's backplate, 'cuz it won't fit.
