4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: IN WIN GT1 Black SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Lots of room for cable management, very user friendly & comes with 2 fans. everything easily snaps into place

Cons: the front fan doesn't have a led light and I wish the front panel came completely off.

2 out of 5 eggsInwin GT1, bittersweet, or just bitter

This review is from: IN WIN GT1 Black SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: To start off, this case has great build quality for the price, you get a very rigid and heavy frame, with side panels that have very little flex. One very large window on this model, that has a slight smoke to it. Air flow for the most part is decent ( if you can get fans to mount properly, explained in cons ), and integrated fan control switch allows for slightly quieter operation. the looks of this case are very nice as well. The tool less drive bays are okay, though a given on most cases now adays Two included fans are actually decently quiet and move air.

Cons: Now for the cons, and boy are there a lot of them. to start, i have been using this case for a long time, and have upgraded from mediocre parts, to enthusiast grade parts all with this case. First and fore most, in terms of fan mounts, this case absolutely blows. The two supplied fans are decent, one in the front, with a supplied dust filter, and one exhaust in the rear There are two extra on the top, one on the bottom, and another on the front. The fan locations on the front and top are garbage. The case uses two plastic tabs that snap in and hold onto fans, not the traditional screw mounts, and these mounts vibrate. Bad. due to the obvious nature of the fans vibrating, these tabs do not hold onto the fans tight enough, and the noise is incredibly irritating. i had to completely remove fans on the top due to the incessant noise they would make. But the mounts on the top do not even provide sufficient air flow, the small honeycomb shaped cutouts are not enough what so ever, and i had to drill extra holes just to let the fan work at half capacity. These two mounts are also NOT sufficient for a radiator such as the H100. there is not enough clearance, the only spot is for a single rad, which is able to be mounted on the rear fan mount ( with more case modding ) Now onto dust filters, only the one on the front, and two on the bottom ( one for the PSU ) are filtered, and it seems they were and after thought, these filters are held in by formed tabs on the sheet metal, and require the PC to be flipped on its side to be removed and cleaned, which can be a pain. The ONE filter on the front, requires the side panel to be removed, and the front to be popped off, for the filter to be pryed off of the front of the fan. Cable management is quite poor in this case, Few cut outs mean squished cables, the spot towards the top, where the 8 pin CPU power is fed through, is extremely tight, again, cable squishing tight.

Other Thoughts: Maybe i am being too hard on this case. If you plan to put very light components, and don't have many plans for upgrading, this could be a great choice, but for gamers and enthusiasts who want a value mid tower for the future, this is not for you, look elsewhere, This case is amazing in theory, and on paper, but in the real world, it falls flat

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Chassis

This review is from: IN WIN GT1 Black SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: -Beautiful design
-Good airflow
-A lot of expansion bays for HDD/ODD
-HDD Hot-swap bay on the top!!

Cons: -Front Panel becoming a bit flimsy; It has been over a year now, so it's not a big deal. It's not too bad,

Other Thoughts: I'd recommend this chassis any time. It's not only aesthetically a work of art, but it's very roomy. I'm not sure if my stock heatsink is doing such a good job, or if this case is just catching the breeze.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good case, a few problems

This review is from: IN WIN GT1 Black SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: The top drive bay worked well for looking at some of my old hard drives, very nice fans that come with it, fan control works great and is simple to figure out. The HDD status lights are very cool. This is easily one of the best cases for the price you can get.

(For those of you having trouble with the fan control, make sure the one molex from the PSU is plugged into the molex female that goes into the case, and the rest are connected with to that.

Cons: The front window came semi scratched and the PCI blockers are very hard to get out.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Bad

This review is from: IN WIN GT1 Black SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case is fairly sturdy. It comes with all the standoffs, and screws that you'll need.

Cons: Only 3 case screws... I am missing one. This is why I am only giving it 4 starts

Other Thoughts: I'd consider buying from them again. Hopefully everything on the case works when I get all of my parts in.

5 out of 5 eggsGood case

This review is from: IN WIN GT1 Black SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: The overall build of the case is sturdy and it sits high from the ground to allow for good cooling from the bottom. It aslo includes a good amount of room behind the motherboard for cable management that got my built looking very neat and tidy. The case also includes a place to hook a padlock to lock the side panel on.

Cons: The is not enough room to put standoffs. The case comes with standoffs but it has raised bumps where the standoffs go (built in standoffs maybe) that just seem very impractical. I had to mount my motherboard directly to the ''bumps'' which I did not like doing but was the only thing I could do to be able to line up the IO shield.

Other Thoughts: I would recomend buying this case if you're looking for something practical and nice looking. I also used the grill on the top of the unit to mount a 10 port usb hub using a screw into the holes, works well and does not cause any damage.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

This review is from: IN WIN GT1 Black SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: I bought this case without seeing it which is rare. I was actually glad the red little pieces are optional to put in. I left them out so my case is all black. I have some pretty big GPU's and it handles it fine with more than enough space. Also, airflow is great and the turbo switch makes things stay really cool with increased airflow. I would highly recommend this case to anyone doing a new build. There are blue lights at the top on both sides that flash with the HD and it just makes it look menacing. I love this case.

Cons: The Front Fan that comes with the case is loud at Silence settings, but in the future I'll replace it. Also, this case does not have enough space for cable management

3 out of 5 eggsStyle as Hubris

This review is from: IN WIN GT1 Black SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Stylish, and with some very nice features. If I were doing a simple build, I would totally go with this box. Lots of slots for HDD and lots of places for cooling fans. The case comes with rubber O-rings to shock-proof HDDs, which I thought was a neat idea. It's been a while since I saw a new case.

Cons: The stylish hexagon ports on the top. There are slots for two 120mm fans up top, so the vent area needs to be larger, and not occluded by style.
This case will not fit a radiator for liquid cooling, which is going to be a part of my build. So I RMA'd the case under the Iron Egg Guarantee.
(that's a Pro for Newegg)

Other Thoughts: As others mentioned, the screws holding in the 2 fans that come with the case will strip easily.

The GT1 came to me with no manual and no hardware. An email to their website and they offered to ship them to me - but they didn't ship them until 3 days later. Nice of them to make good, but the sense of urgency could be improved.

I had difficulty 'seating' my mobo against the back of the case. That might be because I had some interference between my ASUS board and the ASUS backplate - which was strange. There was significant resistance to getting the motherboard aligned with the screw holes. I can't definitely pin that on the case.

Minus one egg for preferring style over ventilation - number of fans notwithstanding
Minus one egg for shipping without manual or hardware.
I would give 1/2 egg for their customer support - but not a full egg.
Overall score: 3 eggs.
