In Win H-Frame Mini Aluminum Mini-ITX Computer Case

With its shiny appearance and innovative frame with R-curve design, the H-Frame Mini redefines the Mini-ITX chassis. In Win uses the laser-cut aluminum plates to create a solid structure on this case. The aluminum side panel and tempered glass side panel accommodate many different types of builds. This compact case comes with a 180W power supply, and supports one low profile card, one slim ODD, two 2.5" HDDs, and a Core i5/i7 processor (CPU power 65W or lower). The cooling, even without a fan, is no problem thanks to its open-air design. In addition, the H-Frame Mini gives you the flexibility to place it in either a tower (vertical) or desktop (horizontal) position.

5 out of 5 eggsMinimalist Modular Design

Pros: Solid Aluminium construction
Minimalist design
Quiet power supply
Should receive MOMA Design award

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Wish the price would come down to $99.
Would buy several more at that price.

Designers could have saved some bucks by eliminating the
totally superfluous and frivilous Clear plastic side.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello ,

Thank you for leaving feedback on our H-Frame Mini chassis. We are glad to read that you really enjoyed building out of it. We can assure you that the price follows the quality of the case, but we will consider other suggestions in our future products. Thank you for choosing In Win.

Best regards,

In Win Development Inc.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little case

Pros: This case is very small and elegant with the glass panel on. Power supply fan is quiet. The pre wired drive bays are excellent for cable management. All you have to do is insert the drive and screw it in place and plug the other end of the SATA cable to your motherboard and you're good to go.

Cons: Not really a problem if you have integrated graphics but if you dont you are very limited to the graphics card you can use. There is only a single low profile slot which only allows thin cards without large heatsinks or fans. You can't fit anything longer than 7 inches so keep that in mind if you plan on using a video card. Also the power supply is only 180W and I believe its custom for this particular case so you cant replace it for something with more output.

Other Thoughts: Great case for an everyday, low power destop computer.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Case

Pros: * Low mass
* Excellent cooling design
* Optional glass top looks really sleek

Cons: * Cabling can be pretty tricky to route and keep hidden
* PSU requires use of the CPU power connector (4-pin) so VIA boards aren't an option (found that out the hard way)
* Calculations suggest PSU is only in the 70's% efficient

Other Thoughts: Using this for an open source IPS using Snort, Barnyard2, Sagan...I forget the others at the moment.
PSU exhausts a lot of hot air. Running an ASRock mobo with AMD A6 APU w/stock heatsink and fan, 16GB RAM, Intel mSATA 30GB SSD OS drive, Samsung 840 Pro 512GB logging drive, and an Intel 4-port NIC. Measured power consumption is averaging at 32.5W. Calculated average power consumption (without PSU losses) is 22.9W. 10W of only heat...nothing accomplished by it being there.

That said, once cables are routed (and that can be really tricky), and the glass top is on (instead of the aluminum one pictured), the build looks really slick. I have this in a room with a modern/industrial decor and it blends well and is whisper quiet.
I got another piece of glass cut for only a few 10's of dollars and used it as the back cover and now I think this is my favorite rig (aesthetically).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat stylish case

Pros: Compact, stylish, good cabling on the inside.

Cons: Cramped, proprietary power supply

Other Thoughts: Actually own two of those - a red one which is out of stock and now a blue one.

Power supply is decent - I've been able to run a Haswell core i3 and a low profile Radeon 7750 on the included power supply without any problems.

The space for the video card is quite cramped, but it will fit a low profile Radeon 7750 which is pretty much the most powerful low profile video card you can get.
Just make sure that the card is one slot wide - some low profile cards had huge heatsinks and actualy take up two slots worth of space, they will not fit in this case.

Newegg sells Powercolor low profile 7750 which fits perfectlly into this case.
