LIAN LI PC-A16 A Silver Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

  • Aluminum ATX Mid Tower
  • USB / Audio / IEEE 1394 Front Ports
  • 6 External 5.25" Drive Bays
  • 3 Internal 3.5" Drive Bays
ICON Loading...

LIAN LI does it again! The PC-A16-A offers maximum room for your drives without resorting to a full sized tower. A staggering six 5.25" external drives are available up front by removing the rarely used 3.5" external bays. If you need any of the external bays to be 3.5", a simple adaptor can be used to convert them seamlessly (sold separately). Naturally, it includes 2 USB ports, a Firewire port, and two audio ports up front, but located on top of the case for even easier access.

You'll have no trouble setting up your perfect system here, either. The Drive Cage is easily removable, as is the motherboard's tray, giving easy access to all of your components. Likewise, you'll have no worry about accidental cuts or scrapes as all edges have been folded over to prevent that dangerous razor sharpness.

The tray supports all standard ATX Motherboards up to 12" x 9.6", with 7 PCI expansion slots in the back. The system comes with two 120mm ball bearing fans to be used in the front and back of the system, and has room for two additional 120mm fans if needed.

  • newegg Great Expandability with 9 Drive Bays The LIAN LI PC-A16A boasts six external 5.25" drive bays and three internal 3.5" drive bays for great expandability.
  • newegg Excellent Airflow and Cooling The LIAN LI PC-A16A features a multi-ventilator front panel, two 12cm ball bearing fans in the front and at the back, and one side fan for effective cooling of the VGA card.
  • newegg Compatible with Water Cooling The LIAN LI PC-A16A features two pre-drilled water cooling holes on the top panel so water cooling installation is a snap.
  • newegg Anti-vibration Feature The LIAN LI PC-A16A features anti-vibration rubber rings in each assembling HDD module and anti-vibration springs attached to the top panel for reduced vibration and noise.
  • newegg Easy Installation for Hard Drives The LIAN LI PC-A16A features a removable motherboard tray and assembling HDD modules for easy installation.
  • newegg Multimedia I/O Panel The LIAN LI PC-A16A's top I/O panel enables remarkably convenient access to two USB 2.0 ports, one IEEE 1394 port, one microphone jack and one headphone jack.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice wide case. Lots of extra connectors. Internal edges are all rolled. All components fit easily. Lots of room to route cables behind the cages. Very quiet fans: I didn't really appreciate how loud my old computer is. I like having the switches on the top of the case.

Cons: The reset button is unnecessarily hard to depress.

5 out of 5 eggsLian Li Case PC-A16 for Windows Home Server

Pros: The case materials and build speak of excellent quality and workmanship. I bought the case as part of a system I was building using Windows Home Server (WHS) and have have found it very suitable for the purpose.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have the two stock fans, plus I bought the additional carrier to hold 3 more 3.5 inch drives, so a total of 3 fans plus CPU fan. The system generates relatively low noise, but is not as quiet as my Mac Pro.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: Slick aluminum look. Full 9 bays of 5.25" front slots. 3 large quiet fans keeps the computer cool. Slightly wider frame. Special drive chasis helps keep the hard-drives cool. Removable motherboard tray. Cable ties to help prevent blocking good air-flow.

Cons: Only one hard-drive chasis (fits 3 drives, I need 6). DVD faceplate sold seperately. No real place in the front to grab the case when lifting/moving. Unusual placement of the power and reset button, but I like the idea personally because I have the case on floor and don't have to reach far.

Other Thoughts: This is my third Lian-Li case. I love them all so far. Would definately buy again in the future because they have very good designs. I recommend this case.

5 out of 5 eggsHigh End

Pros: Beautyfully simple design, good finish, cool operation

Cons: Flimsy plastic parts may break before you even know they are there.

Other Thoughts: Lian-Li takes advantage of the uglyness of computer cases from other manufacturers.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Great case, both in build and design.

Cons: Almost worth giving it 4 eggs over, but the wires that run from the Power LED, Button, reset, etc. are too short to pung in when a CD drive is installed in the top 2 spots. I knew this getting into it, but its still annoying.

Other Thoughts: Get one, you won't regret it. (See above)

5 out of 5 eggsnice

Pros: Plenty of room for most installations, being a bit shorter then most mid-towers(445MM /17.5"can fit were other performance cases will not.Anodized silver aluminum case not prone to finger prints as the black. Power, reset buttons on top along with USB/ firewire ports are very accessible when placed closer to floor.

Cons: knock out for floppy or similar would have been nice to include for this price...Light from indication lamps bleeds onto case... Filter provided W/front fan only.

Other Thoughts: Almost perfect case!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Excellent design, more space than you'd think. Great for any system build, lots of room for mods, etc.

Cons: The short wires from the Power and Reset switches. (I knew that I'd be getting into that, so just be warned!)

Other Thoughts: If the wires were just 3-4 in. longer, this would be a perfect case!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

Pros: Beautiful case All internal parts are rolled, no sharp edges. Removable motherboard tray is nice, expandable. Lian Li sells a hard drive module that will give you another 120mm fan up front and 3 more hard drive slots. Thats 4 120mm fans and six hard drives.

Cons: led and switch leads are a little short.

Other Thoughts: As always NewEgg rocks.

5 out of 5 eggsI'm loving this case

Pros: Aluminum looks amazing. Very clean looking. I love the buttons/ports on the top of the case, it makes the front look cleaner. you can set up all the drives the way you like. This case is great if you run alot of drives or readers... but you'll need 3.5 adapter

Cons: Led's are way to bright and are bleed through the case, a simple solution would be to put a simple black piece of plastic around the LEDs....

can only hold 3 hard drives...

Cannot use top Drive slot because of the power/led cables are too short, not too much of a problem, and would not be a problem with a mATX board

No 3.5" slots or adapter in the box

Other Thoughts: First Lian Li I have owned and it will not be the last.
Very good build quality, but needs a few improvement... 9 out of 10 eggs if I has a choice.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: It's Lian Li. Really nice case. A little wider than normal cases. Great air flow. My 8800GTS fits fine. You would have to move the HD cage up to get a GTX in.

Cons: The front fan is a little noisy when on high.

Other Thoughts: Cool and quiet. Looks really good. Lots of room. HD cage is a nice setup. HD's slip right in on rubber mounts. Cage can be moved all the way to the top if you want.
