Excellent choice
- Pros: Space. Tons of space. If you have a lot of components, or are considering a water cooling solution, this is the case for you. The dual PSU areas are the perfect fit for a radiator/pump, or if you want an external system, there are perforated slots in the back to run tubes through.
For air cooling, the stock fans running at stock speed are whisper quiet, and airflow is greatly improved over the G70B. Coming from a packed to capacity mid tower with awful cooling, my components dropped 25 degrees before I did any fan tweaking.
Thumb screws are plentiful and convenient. Comes with a complete set of screws/attachments if you don't already have your own spare parts kits.
The door on the top ports is solid and won't snap off.
The drive cage can be turned 180 degrees.
The feature list is 100% accurate.
All the case components work perfectly as they should. Case wires are semi-long.
Seriously, barring any major motherboard redesigns, this is the last case you will ev
- Cons: These are not really cons, so much as minor nitpicks:
The case is HUGE. The pictures really do not do it justice since there are no comparison shots. But it is really, really big. This is just a friendly warning, in case space is a concern for you.
There is no case speaker, so you won't be able to hear your system POST, but that's not really a requirement or even common in cases that much anymore. You can get a post diagnostic tool anyway, if you really need to.
The side doors are kind of a pain to get back on once you take them off. There are three points that have to all match before the panels will go back on flush: they hook into slots behind the face panel, then it hooks into slots connected to the top panel, then it pushes down onto ridges connected at the base. Once you get all of those lined up, only then can you slide the door shut. It's a pain, but you'll get used to it.
- Other Thoughts: Cons continued:
The case feels lighter than you would expect, given its size, and the interior supports will squeak a little, since it's brand new. But don't let that dissuade you, the case is rock solid stable.
The "VGA Handle" or whatever it was called, that's supposed to provide extra support to video cards because they are so big is kind of annoying. Don't get me wrong, it's fully functional and does what it is there to do, but your mileage may vary as to how useful it is. It's not neccessary for the support of the case and is removable.
The Power LED is BRIGHT. It will make a small-medium sized blue target on whatever is in its line of site. Easily covered up though.
Only the top 2 5.25 bays have guide rails. Not a big deal.
Pros continued:
The filters on the intake fans work very well (I have two cats).
Motherboard tray is easy to remove.
The case is BEAUTIFUL. It is pure function over form, simplistic yet elegant.
BUY THIS CASE :)
When form meets function
- Pros: Style , Sophistication, Craftsmanship with attention to detail in a design that is well thought out. The computer case artisans at Lian Li have made the perfect case at a reasonable price. The all aluminum construction keeps this case light while acting as a gigantic heat sink to keep all your precious components cool. This case sports 6 quiet 120 mm fans and has rubber grommets on the HD mounts. Simply the best case ever!
- Cons: none.
- Other Thoughts: When you've grown out of impressing your friends with 1337 Pwnzor neon lights and UFO designed cases, this is the case to get. Classic style doesn't go out of fashion, this is the tuxedo of computer cases.

Good case, but quirky
- Pros: Typical solid Lian Li construction. The 6 120mm fans run quiet and keep the case (particularly the hdd) cool. The case is well laid out and easy to work with.
- Cons: The leads from the HDD LED are reversed. This is such a common and well-known problem that it really isn't an issue - just reverse the plug. There isn't as much clearance between the back of the HDD cage and side panel as I would like. Makes it tricky to pack the Sata and power cables from 6 drives back there.
- Other Thoughts: The case I received has had some revsions from the images that NewEgg has: The MB tray now has a cutout for mounting a cpu cooler backplate - unfortunately, it is off-center for my (ASUS P55) board so it didn't really help. Also, the PSU plate has a rectangular opening (instead of slightly rounded on one side) so it better fits modern (large) PSU's.
Not perfect but still outstanding
- Pros: 1. Large. Will swallow whatever kind of of hardware you want to throw in it.
2. Good layout, removable mobo tray, very modular to meet whatever your demands may be.
3. Intake fans have easily removable filters, pretty good stock airflow. Also surprisingly quiet, for what is essentially a giant aluminum cabinet there is not much reverberation.
4. Good build quality as expected from Lian Li.
5. Does not do its own trance concert light show while on. Very sleek for its size.
- Cons: Really nitpicking here.
1. Comes with a couple mobo tray cutouts for wire management but they are not quite adequate for a truly clean cable job, prepare the Dremel.
2. The panels/HDD cages can feel a bit thin but for a case this size to remain relatively affordable *and* be made of aluminum some trade-offs must be made. Just treat it like your precious aluminum baby and don't throw it around like a ham-fisted gorilla and you will be fine.
- Other Thoughts: Excellent product, can see this thing lasting me through several builds to come.
Great case
- Pros: A truly great case! You do get what you pay for.
All Aluminum, no sharp corners to slice open your hands. The enclosed plastic container to keep the screws etc organized is a nice touch. I like the removable backplane; makes installation much easier. Many fans; no need to buy and install extras, like I had to do in the past for cheaper cases.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: My server configuration:
