LIAN LI PC-P80 Black Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: This is a monster of a tower. You'll never lack for room with this case so stuffing all your water cooling, enormous motherboard, 3 graphics cards, etc... is easy. I use this tower as a leg end for my desk it's so tall. The overall build and finish is of the highest quality and can be felt everywhere. Non of the edges are sharp, everything fits very well and the door feels like something you'd expect from an exotic sports car (plus it can be adjusted to open from the opposite direction)The fans work well at keeping the heat down and fan control helps with the noise. Removable motherboard tray is nice but in my opinion doesn't matter much to most Computer builds unless you swap your Mobo a lot. If you have the room go for this Tower-of-Power.

Cons: My only cons for this tower are for personal reasons not engineering defects of any kind. I would have liked if the black on the outside was inside the case as well. Sometimes the door with the fans is a pain because I have to open it (super lazy complaint right?) to access my CD driver and card readers. However, a legitimate complaint about the door would be that you can see Mounted Drivers that display stuff like temp and whatnot. Non issue for me its all on my monitor.

Other Thoughts: Lian Li puts a lot of effort into their work. Definitely a brand I trust with a great tack record for quality.

Pros: Light Weight
Reversible Door
"Easily" removed dust Catcher in front of fans on door
Vibration Dampening HDD mounts (for those who hit their desk often i assume)
E-ATX Compatible...
Analog controller for fans in the door (dims and brightens the fans when going slower and faster, respectively)

Cons: The door being reversible is semi-questionable. Its poorly machined so if you reverse the direction of the door it no longer sits properly and catches and rubs when you try to close it.
No LED control for the fans, i never turn my computer off so when i goto sleep i would like to turn the LEDs off, but alas, not included.
E-ATX Cont: Yes, you can fit an E-ATX board in it, barely. The bottom of the board covers part of the slots for running cables so its best to run as many of the cables as you can before installing your board.
The reset button is EXTREMELY small, less than 1/4". I cannot actually push it with my finger i have to use a pin or pencil to push it. Also it is poorly placed for functionality if you like to use your front panel USB/IEEE or sound jacks.

Other Thoughts: BIG BIG CASE! I know people complain about such thins all the time but this is what the Dimensions section in Specifications is there for people. Over all, satisfied with the case, lots of room, lots of expansion slots

Pros: Have had this case apart allot. Several processors two motherboards, SSDs HDs, ect and I like it more now than when I first got it. This is well put together and made to make working on it easy. Please also see cons if you are considering this case.

Cons: I really like this case but I would recommend considering a few things before purchasing. Do you want the drive bays to show on the front of your case? There are allot of cool gauges and stuff that just get dusty and covered in this case. Do you want to mount an internal radiator? Without mudding this case will only accept a very small radiator. Does USB 3.0 on the front of the case matter to you? This one comes with USB 2.0 and other stuff but no 3.0. Still very happy with it and not sure what other case I would choose to replace it with if I could have any one but these are definite things to consider.

Other Thoughts: I like knowing I could throw a dual CPU board in if I want to.

Pros: Really quiet and well-built. The metal finishing is superior and it is solid throughout. Everything about this box says quality and smart design. Lots of room for everything. Very easy to get components into and out of, and the design is well-thought-out from top to bottom.

Cons: This isn't the best tower that I've ever had even though I paid a premium for it. There are other boxes with bigger fans on the sides and top, more and better air flow and more space. Next build I'll probably go back to the other high-end boxes, but save about half the Lian expense

Other Thoughts: The documentation associated with this tower is horrible and there is little more online. Unless you can get into the designer's head about what is going on with this box, you might never discover its secrets. For example, how could I add another fan? What are the options? What is the cabling scheme for the front USB ports? For the price tag, I really expected better documentation and better explanations for the unit.

Pros: This case is huge. It is very well built and has served the purpose of fitting my SR-2 system inside.

Cons: The airflow of this case is poor. If you are going to overclock, and have your system aircooled, then you may want to look somewhere else, or prepare to at least replace all the fans.

The case has only 1 rear exhaust fan, and a weak top exhaust.

My temperatures would DROP over 10C when I would remove the side of the case. That is HUGE.

Pros: The Lian Li PC-P80 is without a doubt one of the largest cases I've owned. Especially in the desktop ATX lineup. This case will hold at least nine hard drives and five 5.25 devices. The motherboard tray is large enough for the largest motherboards on the market with enough space at the bottom for a radiator. Four 13" dual slot video cards will fit easily in the case. The build quality is great as always with Lian Li.

You cannot go wrong with this case!

Cons: Not really a con; however, the one option that Lian Li should add to their lineup of cases is a powder coated or painted interior.

When I received the case, it was missing one of the 3.5" HDD carriages (supposed to have two of them). I opened an advanced exchange RMA and NewEgg came through as always with the advanced shipment and a UPS return label... Thank you NewEgg.

Other Thoughts: Nearly every piece of the case can be disassembled to allow cleaning, painting, and customization. Along with the purchase of a side window, the case showcases your high end components.

Pros: Had this case for almost a year now and it's worked like a champ. Quite a few things to say:

1. Easiest for fitting an SR-2 without too much modification. You will ideally, need to tap one mounting point on the motherboard tray to fit every screw on the SR-2.
2. Once it's filled with SR-2 and an SR-2 PSU, it's quite tight but you have enough room to work in. If this has a regular board combo in it, expect lots of room!
3. Top fan is controlled by an IO header board underneath the slanting part of the case next to the top inputs.
4. All 3 front door fans are controlled by an IO header below the lowest fan in a rectangular box at the bottom of the door.
5. I don't know how long main the main fans last as I replaced all mine with YateLoon Red LED ones. For tips on re-wiring the case, please reference videos mentioned below.
6. To access the top fan, unscrew the 8 screws horizontally around the top panel, then unscrew 6 more to removed the angled top section.

Cons: There are only a few seeing as how this is the first premium and "real" case I've owned in a long time:

1. Black metallic screws appear non heat-treated and are soft. I've stripped 3 or 4 working on this with normal pressures. This has required me to very carefully DRILL the screws and tap them out. Lian-Li, PLEASE heat treat your black screws! Better yet, match them and go get matching, stronger screws ;)
2. Very long graphics cards may make inserting or removing hard drives tricky due to having to pull drives back out of the cage.
3. Cages are oftentimes wedged in and barely want to move at all. Why this wasn't turned 90 degrees is baffling me.
4. Wish The Egg would carry the P80N version - depending on your needs, it seems to simply refine everything that made the original P80 so great.

Not a con but this case is heavy when full of course. It's solid though and I couldn't be happier.

Other:

1. Removable dust filter = awesome. Saved me so much dust build-up. I still blow it out every couple weeks with a Dustvac and clean the filter.
2. Heavy. Solid. GREAT!
3. The 3 fans on the front door *can* connect via daisy-chained molexes alone to a 4-pin to fan header converter - just barely. They tuck into the side indents of the door well enough.
4. Small inconvenience to open the door for any disc needs but again, I do like the finished and clean look.
5. I have 3 opticals in the top 3 bays and a 3.5" Rosewill card reader in the 4th. So far, should I accidently nudge the door, I've yet to see a memory card be eaten by a fan. Optical drives have enough umph to knock the case door open by the way should they eject a disc.
6. Keylock is great for moving w/o door opening.

Pros: this has got to be the coolest looking case i've ever seen it makes that expensive transformer thing (tt case) look like you know what .

Cons: the only thing i don't like about most lian li cases is the way they do the usb ports they don't put the same thought into it they do w rest of case .

Other Thoughts: 300.00 is not bad for a case of this quality if fans go bad replace with pwm like artic cooling or better .

Pros: Very Solid with a truly classy monolithic look. Super easy to build in and good cable mgmt. Also liked the removable MoBo tray. Proved to be very helpful.

Cons: I have owned this since Dec, 2010 (7mos) ond three of the fans have died! Two on the front door and the one in the top for exhaust. I just ordered 5 replacement fans so I can have a few extras if more fan problems arrise. BTW, all 3 dead fans still have working leds...goody.
The door is a bit of a hassle when inserting or burning discs, but I do love the super clean look, so...no BIG deal.

Other Thoughts: All in all I am proud of my build and this case. Built like a beautiful tank, bummer about the fans.

Pros: Giant - the size makes it easy to install extra components and to organise your cables.

Shiny - they case is just eyecandy hands down. It looks good and the easy access ports are in just the right location if you want to have your case on the floor.

Every part comes off! you can disassemble the entire case!

Cons: When you take out the 5.25" bay covers it leaves scratches on the inside of your case.
