5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Case

Pros: -Build quality
-Looks amazing
-Awesome cooling, good quiet stock fans
-power supply mounting system and expansion slot locking mechanisms work very well and are extremely secure.

Note: The fan power cables of all 5 LED fans are long enough to reach the fan controller. I just had to rotate the bottommost fan on the front and the back top 140mm fan 180 degrees. After that the cables will reach with no problems.

Side panel window can be purchased from Frozen CPU.

Cons: -Cable management is tricky.
-Need to use screw driver to tighten too less screws as it is not possible to get them tight enough just using hands.
-Recommend using additional screws to secure 5.25 drives as tool less locking mechanisms don't secure the driver very well.

Other Thoughts: Recommend spending some time looking around for good deals on this case. I was able to purchase it for $270 but it can be found for even lower if you live in certain areas.

5 out of 5 eggsLian Li A77F

Pros: -Roomy interior
-Great airflow
-Amazing build quality
-Tons of extra features like the PCI-E card holding bracket and the great PCI-E mounting
-Comes with all the fan mounts filled with reasonably high quality fans.

Cons: -The cable management system is a little dated with no rubber grommets and the lack of places to tie down cables and the bar at the bottom of the motherboard tray making it difficult to pass a 24 pin connect through. It's not a huge deal but it does detract from the neatness of my cabling. (Not enough to warrant a 4 egg rating)
-The fan controller is located behind the front panel and needs to have the front panel removed to change fan speeds. Again not a big deal since the fans are extremely quiet as it is. (Not nearly enough of a con to subtract an egg)
-Cables aren't all black but again only a minor gripe.
-Silver interior could be a con for some people but I specifically wanted it so that it would work with my black, silver and gold color scheme.

Other Thoughts: This is an extremely high quality case with tons of extra features, an incredible amount of space and good airflow. It's big and relatively expensive but if you're buying a case like this you should know this well in advance. I would have preferred the case come with 3 120mm fans in the top instead of the 2 140mm fans but if you're willing to spend some extra cash you can probably find one.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Case

Pros: Amazing build quality, excellent features (cooling, organization,, etc.) If there is case that is worth $350, this is it. I migrated both my main media server and backups to two of these cases (along with some supermicro 5into 3 drive cages). I've got room for 20 drives per case. The drives stay nice and cool. The case and fans are much quieter than than the coolermaster 590/(2)8-bay esata cages that they replaced. Lian Li also does a great job of including just about everything you'll need from tons of different types of case and motherboard thumb screws to usb 3.0 to 2.0 interfaces to wiring organizers. This truly a top not case. I waited for months for it to go on sale and I am gladI did.

Cons: Price, but if there is a case that is worth the price, this is it.

Other Thoughts: Probably the lase case(s) I'll ever need.

Pros: Ok this case screams QUALITY. The aluminum mesh in the front doesn't fall out or bend if You touch it unlike ALL my other cases. I even pushed down on it on purpose and the meshing never moved or poped out. This case also has plenty of space for water cooling inside if thats Your thing.... I am seriously impressed with the all aluminum craftsmanship and to be honest I will never buy another cheap piece of feces ever again. Lian Li I love You!!!

Cons: Monsterous size looks like GodZilla compared to my old ladies antect 900 which is a cheap piece of feces BTW.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have two PC-A77F cases and found them to be a PC builders dream. Plenty of space for drives, liquid cooling and just about anything else you want to stuff into a case. When you pay the price they charge for them, you would think they could afford some customer support function.

I own four Lian Li cases in total and in general I am very pleased with them. However, the bitterness of lack of customer support has soured me with any thoughts of ever buying another one of their products.

Cons: Poor customer support!

Other Thoughts: Did I say poor customer support?

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very good airflow. My hard drives are always at only 1 degree over ambient. The processor is about 4 degrees over ambient under regular use. Everything else is also kept cool. My house has a central air conditioning unit with a vent in every room though, and it is on 24/7. YMMV.

The case does a good job at trapping sound. With the tower under my desk I can't hear anything. I have 7 120mm Aerocool Shark fans on max speed on it. 13 if you count the ones on the heatsinks.

It is very big. Bigger than it seemed in pictures, I was shocked when it got here. It has plenty of room for anything.

Its also completely tool-less, which at first I didn't really care for. Once I started assembling my system inside it I was really thankful for it. I will now never buy a case that isn't tool-less. With just my hands I can take the whole thing apart! The PSU, ODDs, HDDs, Mobo, side panels, HDD cages, the VGA support beam thing, it's all removable by just turning a latch or thumbscrews. Nice.

Cons: The outside of the case easily catches fingerprints on it, I have to wipe it down to remove them.

The inside of the case is not painted black, it is bare aluminum. Would've liked black.

The windowed side panel for this case which is sold seperately (Part: W-LF2AB-1) by Lian Li is incredibly difficult to find for sale, I want one but have not found it anywhere. It's like they don't want my monies.

The 4 front panel USB 3.0 connectors do not connect via internal motherboard headers, they have to be routed out the back of the case and connected from the outside.

The top three 5.25" bays can accomodate a 4th HDD cage, but it doesn't come included. I have an external Blu-ray drive, so I paid forty dollars for a cage exactly like the three that come with the case. So now the front has four 120mm fans, instead of three. My case can now also house 12 HDDs instead of 9, which will be useful soon. It would've been nice for it to come for free, it's easily removable anyway.

Other Thoughts: For anyone wondering- the internal 3.5" to 2.5" drive converter compatible with the HDD cages in this case is model number HD-321. Just search for "Lian Li HD-321" if you need it to mount SSDs. It holds two 2.5" per single 3.5". I know it fits because I took a risk and bought it myself.

Also not really a con- to have air flow be more uniform inside the case, I bought two 140mm to 120mm shrouds for the top two 140mm fan slots. This way the entire case is lined with fans of the same brand, same size, and same airflow. 4 intake on the front, 2 exhaust on the top, 1 exhaust on the rear, and I count the exhaust of the aftermarket VGA cooler as another 120mm. The system certainly keeps very cool, I must've done something right. Uneven airflow impedes cooling, they should've put 120mm holes on the top not 140. Unlike others I also had no trouble with fan cable length, probably because I bought my own instead of using what came with the case.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

Pros: Awesome Air Flow. And Quiet.

Tool less

More Room then what i know what to do with. Room to grow as new stuff comes out.

Air Fliters for fans.

Cons: Had to tighten a few things down with a screw driver.. Finger torque was just not holding to specs.

My biggest problem, the front fans cable was not long enough. Seriously i think the enginer putting this stuff down on paper forgot to measure or something. it was like 2 inches short. Had to resort to some massive daisy chaining temporarily.

Other Thoughts: Wish it had Fans on the side of the case. (Little extra air cooling for the massive GPUs. What else can i say?)

Better fan control then a hidden 3-speed switch.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case.

Pros: -Room for ALL your hardware, water cooling, sli/x-fire, etc...
-EXCELLENT air flow.
-Given the great airflow and 6 fans it's QUIET by my standards.
-Comes with all fans, blue led top and front if that's your thing.
-Build quality is very nice.
-Aluminum case = amazingly light (this was a real nice surprise).
-Water cooling inside is nicely prepared.
-This case is a great one to mod--many creative options.
-100% metal, no plastic!
The list goes on...

Cons: As with most of the other reviews, this case is not without its negatives.

-Tool-free optical drive bay mechanism was useless for me.
-Provided fan cables are not long enough to reach the stock fan controller.
-USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 adapters: only two provided but four are needed.
-mobo tray not removable.
-GPU suppory bar: nice idea but mediocre in practice.

The fact that it's not painted and has no window is not a con. I knew this going in. Lian Li does sell, a la carte, side panels, top panels, etc. Hoping for these parts to be available in the future as this is still a new case.

Other Thoughts: Overall, the cons for me are minor. They are certainly far outweighed by the pros. For a premium price, however, I'd like to see the small things taken care of.

Would I buy it again? Without a doubt.

I did a TON of looking around before I bought this case. The 800D was the other choice but I felt the Lian Li won on its superior air flow; of course the 800D looks better. At the end of the day, performance beats looks, as those can be modified more easily.

If you can overlook the above cons, you will not regret throwing down on this beast of a case. No case is perfect, but for me, this comes as close as any case out there--no regrets.
