LIAN LI PC-V352B Black Aluminum MicroATX Desktop Case

Pros: Not a bad case considering the size. I was using for my NAS box. Has good airflow through the case and the easy fan removal makes it nice for quick cleaning of the filters.

Cons: Because of it's size as most have mentioned modular PSU is a must. Wire routing is definitely tough especially with the HDD tray and ROM tray being really close together. Also having the back panel attached to the mobo tray isn't the most convenient. You really have to be creative to route the excess PSU cables.

Other Thoughts: My case had a short somewhere in the fan controller that is mounted to the back panel. After I had everything installed in the case and was screwing in the side panels I had arcing between the screw and the case/panel. It was shutting my computer down every time it would arc. Checked all the PSU cables and then decided to unplug the power to the fan controller and was able to install the panel without arcing so knew that was the problem. Looking to get a replacement or refund to get something else.

Pros: Beautiful case. I've had an NZXT Alpha and a Cooler Master HAF 922 and this one just looks SOO much better. I wanted a case with a smaller foot print that looked nice without being obnoxious and this fits the bill perfectly.

Great airflow even with less than adequate cable routing options. There is a fan speed switch on the back which can accommodate up to 3 fans, and even on the highest setting you can't hear the fans. The fans come with finger guards, and the two intake fans on the front slide out easily making it simple to clean the included filters.

Easily (mostly) fits everything in my build detailed below, while looking great and keeping everything cool & quiet.

Cons: It seems that Lian-Li put very little thought into smart component placement. The 3.5" bay in the back of the case only really gives about 1- 1.5" of space between where the cables go into your HDD and the back of the case. Adding to this, the 3 pin ports for the fan speed switch are directly across from the bottom-most HDD bay, forcing you to be a little creative on how to avoid blocking the single exhaust fan with a mess of wires.

A modular PSU is also a must. Even with my modular PSU mentioned below, I had to take my dremel and cut off a flange from the reversible 5.25" bay because it was catching on one of my PSU cables and wouldn't go in the case completely.

Also, I didn't have this issue, but I imagine if your video card has 6 or 8 pin ports on the TOP of it, it may not fit in this case as there is very little clearance above the video card. I haven't bought an aftermarket HSF yet, but due to the lack of vertical clearance I don't think there will be too many options.

Like many others have said, this isn't a case you can get up and running in 15 minutes, you really need to plan your build out in order to get the most of it and avoid any potential headaches.

Other Thoughts: All in all, I would highly recommend this case to those who are willing to put in a little more work than would be required for a typical case. Even with the cons mentioned above, I only took off one egg because it is a fantastic case that I'm very pleased with and would gladly use again.

Cons: I, like many others had issues with cable routing for the 5.25: bays. Also, a longer 3.5" to 5.25" external caddy as our "modern" card reader tried to sag due to no rear support. The place to mount an SSD drive makes cable hook up difficult. The 80mm fan for HDD bay should be seperate from the motherboard tray, IMHO.

Other Thoughts: About an hour to build. The second one took about 45 minutes.

If you expect to put it together and be gaming in 15 mins you're in for a shock.
This is for my backup computer and is on a bookshelf perfect fit with bays right wear I use them.
This case is just what I needed.
Just beautiful when put together properly.

Before buying ANYTHING know what you're getting. I knew up front about the cable routing but still dock an egg for it.

as has been beaten to death routing for cables to the 5.25's is NOT standard I solved the problem with a step bit and an oldwater cooling grommet

Other Thoughts: If you're buying this case you probably need something that will let you face 5.25's to either side of the case with a small footprint. I used a silverstone strider psu with the short cable kit(sold here on the egg).

When I was done the cable management was perfect (tho it did take some thinking) and the airflow was more than enough to keep the gpu/cpu well within norms.

Pros: Compact, elegant looking, simple and well organized. Get a modular power supply. Case fans are VERY quiet!

Cons: OK, I'm sorry, the design of the 5.25" slots is patently stupid. I'm NOT pulling punches here because bluntly, Lian Li is a high end case builder and should know better. It is nearly impossible to route cables back in there, it's a total hack. There's no reason they couldn't have a decent sized gap in the middle and not compromise the structure of the 5.25 caddy. Instead, it's an utter mess.

Further, the 3.5" caddy should be configured so the cables connect pointing toward the MIDDLE of the case, not the rear, this ends up requiring some more creative routing.

Finally, there's a LOT of vertical room in the lower part of the case where the motherboard goes. Given all the unique routing of cables, it would be nice if there were points to easily attach cable guldes / zip ties and if the mobo would site a little higher to aid in running cables down the side.

Other Thoughts: It seems like with a little more thought into this case, it could be an EXCELLENT case. Fingers crossed, because I would like to use it again...

(1) very stylish, beautiful appearance
(2) whisper quiet case cooling fans
(3) small-ish size

Cons: Cons:
(1) Too much time required to assemble! This case requires LOTS of time and patience to assemble -- almost too much to make the price worth it. You have to spend some time thinking about where you want your drives to go and how to orient them first so that you can route power and data cables accordingly. In some cases, you need to plug in cables to disks/drives before securing the drive to the chassis because once installed, they're inaccessible for making other connections.
(2) Poor internal access for cabling to 5.25" bays: the case allows for 5.25" drives to be mounted on either left or right sides (not on face of case) which is nice, but the drive cage into which you mount your drives has only a small gap on one end of the cage -- near the case side wall -- for you to bring power and data cables into the drive cage area. Though it works, this seems like a design flaw to me. I dread thinking about trying to get an IDE/ribbon cable up into the 5.25" drive cage!

Other Thoughts: (1) Buy a modular power supply so that you can plug power cables into drives first, mount drives in the case then plug the power cables into the power supply.
I used an Antec BP550 power supply that just barely fits inside this case. The modular cables were a life saver.
(2) I love the quiet operation and stylish appearance of this case, but I'm going to think twice about buying this case again.

Pros: Side-loading optical drives were my main criterion for ordering this case. Since the bays can open to either side, it was the best (and nearly the only) option for my application. The aluminum is thick enough to provide rigidity, and the finish is excellent, if the fit isn't.

Air flow is excellent due to the 2 120mm fans.

Cons: Where to start?
1) The only cable access to the 5.25" drive tray is out the front or back. Why the didn't put access ports (OK, holes) in the bottom is beyond me.
2) I had to cut off one flange of the sliding 5.25" bay in order for it to clear the non-modular main power cables on my power supply. The PS has to be installed before the tray, so there was no option.
3) The supposed lack of sharp edges just isn't so. I cut my hands 3 time working on this box -- more than any other I've worked on -- and I have small hands.
4] I expected more precision from this "premium" case; maybe this is too picky, but the screw holes in the sides don't line up perfectly with the holes in the frame, so when I finished jockeying the screws tight, there are some small gaps between the sides of the case and the frame due to very slight buckling.

Other Thoughts: I've looked at Lian Li cases for years, but haven't been able to justify the expense. If it weren't for the side-facing drive bays for my optical drives, I wouldn't have got this one. Over all, I'm not as impressed by this case as I thought I'd be, but at least I'm over my "craving" to buy a Lian Li.

Pros: This case is well made. Lian Li didn't overlook any of the small details with regard to construction. The screw holes are countersunk, edges are rounded, drive mounting screws are thumb sized and knurled, slide out motherboard tray works pretty well, peripheral slots are vented, front case design is CNC machined, LED power / reset buttons are top notch, and the slide out drive bays are a nice touch.

This case includes a fan speed regulator and all fans. The fans are QUIET and come with finger guards, which are a must given the internal space constraints. The two 120mm fans in front are slide-out.

This case accommodates a standard ATX power supply.

Includes an E-SATA connector and CF card reader.

Case is well packaged by the manufacturer and survived a UPS delivery to my office.

Cons: The slide out 5.25" drive bay doesn't have a place to route power / SATA cables! (I wasn't going around the slot covers either...) Solved that problem with a cutoff wheel and some masking tape... The instructions that come with this case just say "install drives in bay." Lian Li must know about the problem...

Any changes you make to the 5.25" drive bays may impact the installation of the side panels. The cutouts in the side panels are a snug fit against the slot covers and I had to take extra precautions to make sure all of the screw holes were aligned...

That said, the screws that hold the side panels on are fine thread counter head bits that are easy to lose and even easier to round / cross thread. Be *very* careful when reinstalling them into the case's soft aluminum threads.

There isn't much room between the hard drive bay and rear case cover. 3 hard drives were a tight fit because the power connectors have to be looped around. The bottom drive needs a 90 degree cable.

Other Thoughts: Case is bigger than it looks.

If you want to do everything right, this is the case for you. After about a week of taking my time to slowly build things after work, I was satisfied with the results. You don't want to do a rush build with this.

As other reviewers have said, get a semi modular standard ATX power supply. There isn't much room to stash cables away, and this made a difference.

I had to extend the wiring of the fans to comfortably reach the included fan speed controller, which is mounted on the rear case cover.

I have 4 3.5" hard drives installed in this case (3 in the 3.5" bay and 1 with adapters in a 5.25" slot). You can only use 2 of the 4 5.25" slots. Proper wire routing took some time to figure out!

Bottom line: If you are good with your hands (read: mechanically inclined), this will be a walk in the park... with Dobermans

Pros: For a really tight and longer than I expected build, this is a really flashy case, very smooth look to it, I love it, especially in red!

Cons: -Like others have said, this is not a quick build, this has to be the tightest case I've worked with.
-Right angle SATA's needed for this build, made it easier for me, luckily the ASUS Maximus provided it.
-Coolerguys.com had the Red version I was looking for and they have all the accessories for the Lian Li brand I needed.
-Coolerguys.com is also the place you need to get the 3 1/2" bay to 2 1/2" converter if your running SSD because this case does not come with it.
-The last 2 was cons because I had to shop out of newegg to get it and meant I had to play a little bit more than I should've -1 egg. -_-

Pros: slide out tray

Cons: I had to move SATA drive up on shelf as drive box attachent screw interfered with SATA cable. I found no proper way to wire the DVD ROM drives. THere is no wire holes in the box, whihc slides in and out hard and scrapes wires coming out of power supply.

Other Thoughts: This was no advantage over my existing box at all.
