5 out of 5 eggsVery much worthwhile

Pros: Wow, it's truly an excellent case. The brushed aluminum finish is very handsome. It doesn't show many fingerprints. The front fascia (incorrect term) pops off nice and easily. It's a quick job to clean. The included fan filters are pretty nice and trap a lot of dust. Cleaning them is easy too--just rinse them under tap water for a minute each, then air-dry them. They don't catch 100% of the dust, but they'll keep your internals MUCH cleaner. USB 3.0 upfront is great. I lucked out and received an early version using the USB 3.0 header, which included a header adapter for USB 2.0. The adapter was a tight fit on and off, but was perfect until I upgraded from Nehalem to Haswell.

Cons: Don't plan on using a 140mm fan up top. When I did that, the top of the case got this annoying rattle. Maybe I messed up screwing it in, but it was annoying enough that I removed it. It didn't really do anything.

Other Thoughts: I really like this chassis. It's not a M1 tank, but now 2 years on, mine is still very solid. As another piece of advice for anyone looking at computer cases... positive air pressure is your friend. You want more fans pointing in than you want pointing out. That ensures that the fan filters catch the dust & that dust isn't sucked in through any gaps.

2 out of 5 eggsFlimsy - not worthy of the name

Pros: Aluminum

Cons: Flimsy

Other Thoughts: My third LL case. The first two were great. This model, however, should not carry they name due to its thin and cheap construction.

5 out of 5 eggsLian Li. nuff said

Pros: Everything about this case, nay Lian Li, screams quality and minimalistic design. In the high end computer case world there are two types of cases: one that screams "HEY LOOK AT ME!" and the beautiful brushed aluminium finish that doesn't show off, but upon close examination shows its beautiful quality nature. This would be the latter. I am not one for flashy lights all over my cases, nor would I put spinners on my car. If you're into spinners, you are probably into your case having a clear side panel and blue glowy lights all over. The clear panel would only get dirty and requre frequent cleanings. The simple, yet well thought-out nature of this case leaves me wanting very little.

I am not one for toolless 5.25" mounting hardware. Most cases that come with it as a feature provide cheap plastic toolless devices that allow the dvd drives to vibrate and create noise. I typically remove them right away and screw in my drives with as many screws as possible. I did not do that this time and the drive stays quiet (seriously people; know the difference between quiet and quite).

I love that this case and most lian li cases come with pleanty of well-thoughtout cooling fans. Two 120s in the front, 1 in the back, and an optional 140 up top. It is noteworthy that if you have a large CPU fan, you may not be able to use the one up top, be warned and measure before purchasing a fan.

I love what they did with the hard drive cage on this model. It is so easy to install and remove drives I think I could teach my 2-year old to do it in an afternoon. The hard drives sit silently and I like it like that. They didn't make it possible to mount a 2.5" with the rubber grommets, but they're probably assuming that you'd only use a 2.5" if you wanted a SSD, which wont vibrate anyhow.

I love having the ports and IO buttons on the top rather than the front. I place my computer on the floor and it is very easy to reach them.

There is pleanty of space behind the motherboard for routing cables and they thought of all the places you would want to route them and placed a hole there for you to do it. Thanks Lian Li, you think of everything.

All edges are rolled, you will have to try hard to cut yourself.

The aluminium is sturdy and thick. Thicker and far lighter than most steel cases. I switched from a PC K7 and having an all-aluminium case has lightened the load significantly.

The front removes without tools, another typical Lian Li feature they spoil us with.

The fans are quiet and by experience with my past cases will outlast all hardware they cool. They also come pre-mounted with rubber grommets to keep them quiet. If you want it quieter, they give you watercooling holes if you're into that.

Seriously, they think of everything. I'd like to meet their engineers and shake some hands. Job well done.

Cons: I have to nitpick when it comes to cons. Anytime you purchase a bottom-mounted case, understand that it is not yet the industry standard and that PSU manufacturers may or may not be thinking of that when making cable lengths. Measure your PSU 4/8 CPU power lead and make sure it is long enough. I had hoped to route mine under my motherboard and back out the top to keep it out of the way, but it wasn't even close to long enough. I had to route it right by my video card and over my northbridge fan. Not an ideal situation, but it works. I'm very picky about my cable management. For this reason, I also strongly recommend purchasing a modular power supply. Lian li helps you find places to put your cables, but if you can take the unused ones out entirely, you're much better off.

My biggest gripe is the fan screen on the front. When they designed it, it sits flush with the front of the case, which is great if it isn't going over the large round-head screws that mount the fans. It is a tight fit and seems like you're bending the plastic a lot to get them to fit. If I had to look for and point out a design flaw, this would be it. Still, I haven't broken the filter yet and can't justify docking Lian Li an egg for it. They do such an amazing job (I'm not on their payroll, I promise).

The PCK7 I switched from had a removable MoBo tray. I didn't remove it often, but it was nice to have. The K7 also has a flip open door for the USB and audio ports, protecting them from dust when not is use. I liked that feature, but again, not enough to dock an egg. I knew about both of those things before purchasing and they didn't even make me hesitate to click the "add to cart" button.

Other Thoughts: True story: I've been buying Lian Li for my own cases for years now. I was first exposed to them by my college roomate who was building a watercooled computer in the classic Lian Li case that has evolved into the PC v1020 we see today. I've been hooked on their beautiful design and quality of craftsmanship since.

I write this having upgraded from a Lian-li (Lancool) PC K7 original version with usb2.0 and the leading factor in switching was getting an all-aluminium case instead of one with aluminium panels and getting USB3.0 ports in the front. Other than the bottom mounted PSU in this case and the removable MoBo tray in the other, the two cases are designed very similarly and I have no regrets about purchasing either. If you want to save a few dollars and don't want a bottom mounted PSU, I would recommend the PCk7B as mine lasted me 5 years and countless hours removing hardware for upgrades. It was always easy to work in and I never have cut myself on a Lian Li product.

If you like a minimalist design and don't buy this case, consider other cases in the Lian-Li product line. You wont be disappointed by any of their product's quality and you will find that paying a little more is well worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsperfect shiny blackness

Pros: Got this recently from Newegg for $79 with a $20 rebate making this the best case ever bought for $59 out of pocket.

Not sure what the complaints are.....there are little openings all over the motherboard mounting side of the case so routing cables is very possible if it is thought through before hand. I'm also not sure why the front would be falling off all the time as has been cited in other reviews.....I mean how much "moving" does one have to do with a case of this size? It is a big solid rectangle of shiny perfectly black painted aluminum. I look at this for $59 dollars out of pocket and just want to put 2001 A Space Odyssey on the Home Theater. This case is that minimal and it actually needs to be part of the room decor.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsIt's LIAN LI

Pros: It is a beautiful elegant case obviously. i'm not into cases with martians and other ridiculous bells, lights, whistles etc. what i like is a classy look with quality and for the most part LIAN LI delivers.

With this particular case and build i did have some issues however. But as for the good things about it the hard drive cage is terrific enough room to hold all. The 2 front 120mm fans are another big plus, drawing in all kinds of air to the inside.

Cons: my biggest issue, unable to install the corsair h50 with the radiator inside the case. i supposed its to be expected to a point considering it is a mid-size however if lian li had simply placed the rear exhaust fan "1 lower and switched position with the positions of the rear holes with the rubber grommets, then it would have fit and would have give the consumer the choice of where they wanted the raidiator. really poor design choice here -1 egg

Other Thoughts: cable management is not the greatest, and it really irritates me that LIAN LI cannot be bothered to include rubber grommets for the cable hole cutouts like you see everywhere in many cases

the motherboard cuttout does not line up well on the asus p8 z68 making it so installing a back plate for a cpu cooler difficult. defeats the purpose of having a hole there.

1 out of 5 eggsRattletrap

Pros: Looks nice, lots of drive bays. The buttons / ports on top are convenient.

Cons: I've had this case for about 1.5 years. It rattles and buzzes non-stop (four hard drives and a Cooler Master Hyper 212 cooler installed). Front panel is not well attached and doesn't sit flush against the case. Case is made of aluminum and gets scratched / marred easily. Drive bay covers don't fit tightly and come loose / vibrate.

Other Thoughts: Always thought Lian Li cases were supposed to be great, but this is the worst case I've owned (including ones half the price).

5 out of 5 eggsStill great!!

Pros: Solid build quality.
Removable top.
Removable top fan cover.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I bought this case in April, 2012, and still love it. I installed some Noctua fans in it and it's super quiet, if not silent. The LED's are not super bright, which is a good thing. The removable top is a great idea, because it aids in the installation of the CPU cooler. I'd buy it again!!

2 out of 5 eggsLian Li ....

Pros: The front case falls off 10-12x a day

Cons: front case falls off constantly and the pieces are breaking off causing it to happen even more.

Other Thoughts: Lian Li Cases are so supposed to be the best, I haven't had that experience, I should have RMA'd the first time the front fell off but I had just built it. and wanted to get my machine runnning!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Lightweight, aids in assembly for arthritic hands. Tthree fan filters good if you have cats or carpeting. Four available fans (one optional). Good attention to engineering detail - except as noted below.

Cons: Sharp edges on some cable runs, had to apply neoprene adhesive sheet to guard sharp edges. The SSD installation is backwards: when you plug in the SATA cables, the SSD falls out. Only one SSD slot option, two would be better. Steel screws on aluminum tends to gall without lubricant. LL should know that. Loctite to the rescue.

Other Thoughts: Not a bad case, compares favorably with the better Antec steel cases, so far as layout and drive options. A little more attention could be paid to the QC of the cable runs and cable-management plastic parts. The front fan filter frames need reliefs cut for the screw heads that hold the fans in place. As they come stock, the screw heads bow the filter frame making the filters less efficient. I replaced the LL screws with flat tops and relieved the fan frames - now they sit tightly against the aluminum frame.

4 out of 5 eggsGood case - requires improved QA

Pros: As always... Lian Li makes excellent aluminum cases.
- very good HD cage design

- lightweight without too much sacrifice to stability

- elegant constructions

Cons: - same as below... 3 of the 4 plastic front-grill retainer clips broken. Wasn't caused by shipping. Close inspection revealed that either (or both) wrong size fastening screws or too much torque applied during assembly.

- side panels also sightly warped. I'm guessing they were rushed through the stamping machines without sufficient cooling time.

- Incorrect screws used for front fan assembly. Should have used flat-head phillips. Instead, rounded head screws were used which resulted in too much gap between dust filters and case. This caused by the top of the screw pushing filter away from case - buckling filter away from case.

Other Thoughts: Still a good case. Hopefully Lian Li will send me the correct parts. The case isn't broken... just needs a little extra attention with this particular build.
