5 out of 5 eggsTHE BEST MicroATX

Pros: Compact, aluminum finish, thick side panels, vented front, internal distribution, hot-swap SATA boards, 2 x 120mm fans in front, 1 x 140mm top exhaust. 2 x 2.5" slots for SSD's

Cons: Some people lack common sense and resourcefulness and had no clue on how to overcome some minor design issues like:

SATA ports and MOLEX port on the hot-swap board are close together and you must use a LEFT ANGLE SATA CABLE instead of the conventional right angle. They are easily found anywhere online.

It is tight in the case but that's why I LOVE IT. I've got TWO nvidia GTX 480's and a NOCTUA NH-C14 cooler.

Some complained that the PCI-E card metal bracket didn't fall into place. I had to bend the tip slightly and they went in just fine.

The exhaust fan blocks the clip on the 8-pin cable from the PSU. By taking the filter off you get the clearance for the clip OR cut the clips off. I removed the filter because who needs a filter on an exhaust fan anyway.

I just wish I could've found the silver one.

5 out of 5 eggsSexier than a Mac

Pros: This case will make your PC look like it was designed by Jonathan Ive and the Apple design team (i.e. Mac Pro). I headed the warning of others who had compatibility issues with the ASUS GENE motherboard and opted for the Gigabyte GA-Z68MX instead. I can report that there are zero issues with top-fan clearance or SATA ports being blocked. And, like the ASUS GENE, the GA-Z68MX supports SLI. I am running 2 460GTXs in SLI right now. Top card never breaches 70C during gaming.

Cons: The CPU cooler can be no taller than 155mm or the actual height of the Zalman CNSP9900MAX, which I am using right now to keep my i5-2500K stable at 4.5GHz. I also got serious with cable routing and got some twist-tie mounts to really flatten my cables against the motherboard tray. I have had no problems with the tool-less doors popping off due to taking this precaution.

Other Thoughts: I just moved my components from a Lian Li X500FX. I really appreciate fitting the same components (minus ATX board) into a smaller footprint. There is just way too much dead space in many full and mid tower PC cases designed for ATX boards.

1 out of 5 eggsShould have listened to the reviews

Pros: Aluminum, solid construction, great concept, tool-less

Cons: Poor implementation, lack of testing by Lian-Li, installation takes a while

Other Thoughts: 1. As another owner stated, the top 12V ATX power connector on many motherboards will be extremely close to the top fan making it nearly impossible to remove the fan for cleaning and difficult to install without breaking it.

2. The hard drive cages with built-in SATA/Power connectors are a great idea when it works. The SATA cables do not fit on the back properly because they push the side cover off. If you use a common L-shaped SATA cable it won't fit because the connector on the back of the hard drive cage is backwards. It's like Lian-Li never even tested this setup.

3. You have to take the face plate off your optical drive to make it fit. In addition there is no way to remove the optical drive without first disassembling the pre-included cover. This isn't impossible to do, it is just cumbersome. For a mostly tool-less case you'd think they would have a better solution.

5 out of 5 eggsCorrection

Pros: Beautiful PC case.

Cons: The description of the product mentions two components (cable management and motherboard thumb screws) that are missing. I have contacted Newegg and Lian Li, but have NOT received any responses yet.

5 out of 5 eggsGorgeous

Pros: Just a gorgeous PC case. There are some problems, but this case is so beautiful. If you have some experience, you can avoid some of the problems.

Cons: The description of the product mentions two components (cable management and motherboard thumb screws) that are missing. I have contacted Newegg and Lian Li, but have received any responses yet.

I don't like the way the side panels attached to the case.

Hard drive cages are not convenient. The bottom cage is not removable. The SATA hot swap parts are not well thought out.

The tool-less optical drive is a joke.

Top fan is not well thought out. No need for filter. Lian Li should provide regular fan screws so that the fan can be installed without the filter. The provided screws are too long.

I would like to have USB 2.0 ports in front in addition to USB 3.0. I don't need e-SATA.

Other Thoughts: With all the cons, still the case is a beautiful case that deserves five stars!

4 out of 5 eggsHigh quality but does have some design flaws

Pros: 1. Rounded edges and incredibly high quality cuts of sheet paneling for the case.
2. Top access ports are laid out well (other lian li cases had them side by side so larger USB keys wouldn't fit if you had something else plugged in).
3. Exhaust vent well placed
4. All fans came with filters (below PSU, front fans, exhaust fans), the filters have a rotatable snap design making it easy to remove.
5. Can fit full size video cards if you remove the middle hard drive cage.

Cons: 1. The tool less pop out side panels are a mixed blessing, easier to open the case but if you have a lot of components and cables they wind up pushing against it in some cases which causes a bulge which isn't a problem with regular side panels that uses screws.
2. No space for a radiator in front (too close to the HD cage) and despite having a large exhaust fan; it's too close to the motherboard to use one as well.
3. Tool-less installation of 5" drives don't necessarily secure it, you'll need screws still.
4. Doesn't have a whole lot of sense why they use molex power connectors for the hot swap bay for the hard drives, it increases the amount of connectors if you need to use an adapter, increasing clutter in the case.
5. Didn't come with cable management bits (even though it's advertised).

Other Thoughts: Despite the quality of the case, anyone else find Lian-Li's customer service downright HORRIBLE. I've never once had them reply to any of the problems I've had about their products, so be warned, you're on your own when it comes to these cases.

Net time I'm dropping by their offices in Taiwan to give them an in-person rant, it's incredibly frustrating.

1 out of 5 eggsLooks nice, horrible design

Pros: - Looks
- Light weight

Cons: Oh, there are so many things wrong. All of them are attributable to an utter lack of thought and design:

- The single biggest issue is that the top fan is so close to the motherboard, that if the CPU power cord has a top latch, you CANNOT connect the CPU power cable if the top fan is installed. For reference, I was trying to use a Asus Maximus IV Gene-Z. Another 1/8th to 1/4 of an inch more height would have taken care of this easily.

- Similarly, if the motherboard is installed, it's extremely difficult to get a power supply in or out. I could only get mine in because it was modular and I was able to remove all the cables. If you can't, you're out of luck. The reason for this is that the bottom left catch for the side panel protrudes in so much that you unable to move the PSU towards the opening, but the mobo is so close you can't move it up either.

**** Continued, see below.

Other Thoughts: - The design that the upper hard drive cage connects to means that there is a 1/4" drop not far behind the upper front fan. This completely prevents you from installing a radiator for water cooling. And the bottom cage does not move all, also preventing radiator use.

- The bottom air vent below the PSU is about 1.5" too far towards the middle (lengthwise) of the case. This means the bottom intake for my Seasonic PSU was partially blocked.

- Despite the documents with the case, there is NO cable management hooks. And it's a TIGHT case.

- The orientation of the SATA plugs and their proximity to the power plug on the back of the lower HD case means you can't use the "L" connectors that are coming standard with most mobo's now.

- No removable mobo tray.

All in all, this is the single-worst designed case I have ever come across when it comes to actually fitting your components in it. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
