4 out of 5 eggsGreat mATX gaming case with a little modding

Pros: * Stylish, yet simple and professional looking aesthetics
* Compact
* Lightweight
* Very good quality aluminum construction
* Lots of ventilation, decent airflow by mATX cube case standards as previous models (Lian-Li V350, V351, V352) had poor airflow.
* DVD and USB panel can be mounted on either side
* Stealth DVD cover included
* Accommodates ~11" long video cards (with modding to allow PCIe power connectors and cables)
* Can mount four fans by mounting 2 x 120x25mm in the front with rubber grommets, and 2 x 120x12mm slim fans in the top via the exhaust filter bracket with fans such as the Scythe slim series (model SY1212SL 12M).

Cons: * Long video cards (GTX 285, 580, etc.) with upward facing PCIe power connectors will interfere with the shelf that divides the upper and lower chambers of the case. This means the user will be forced in squishing and bending the PCIe power cables (not recommended), going with a shorter video card (ie; GTX 460, 560 series, etc.) preferably with front power connectors, or extending the hole in the shelf with tools such as a Dremel which is what I did.

Perhaps an oversight on Lian-Li's part or they really intended the V353 to be strictly an HTPC or office PC case, but gamers or professional graphics users with long video cards should be aware of this issue and be prepared to do some modding to allow proper fitting of their long video cards with top power connectors.

* Cable management can be a challenge - as usual with these types of cases, therefore a fully modular power supply is highly recommended.

Other Thoughts: I bought the silver variant of this case (Lian-Li V353A) as I was in the market for a cube style mATX case that has good cooling, high quality construction, and nice aesthetics (qualities that are difficult to find in most mATX cube cases today). I also knew what I was getting into with the hole in the shelf being too short for video cards (see above in the pros and cons sections) and was prepared to do some modding. After I inspected the case to make sure there was no problems, I then extended the hole in the shelf with my Dremel till it lined up with the front 25mm thick 120mm intake fans. The mod was a success as I have no issues with my GTX 285 card. This is a nice case for an mATX gaming LAN build just as long as you're prepared to do some modding work with a Dremel or similar tool. Very pleased with mine!

* i7 2600K, ASUS MIV Gene-Z, 16GB DDR3, GTX 285 2GB, WD 500GB RE4 HDD, 2 x 120x25mm fans (front), 2 x 120x12mm fans (top), Corsair AX850W fully modular PSU, LL V353A

4 out of 5 eggsSleever's Delight.

Pros: *Small
*Light
*DVD/USB mount on either side (or both sides if you want to buy another USB adapter)
*Looks good.

Cons: *Wasn't able to fit GTX275 without what I would consider dangerously bending power cables (top plug style).

Other Thoughts: Addressing gamecockfan's review:

There are indeed fans mounts for the two internal front fans - they are beneath the filter (i.e. remove the air filter bracket and you will see them).

There are a number of ways to mount fans:

*Remove air filter from bracket - use the air filter bracket to mount 2 120mm fans.
*Remove air filter AND bracket - use exisitng mounting position (rubber grommet slide in style - similar to hard drives)

I personally have:

2 slim-line 120mm fans (normal/fat wont fit over power supply) to the roof (mounted without air filter but using the air filter bracket).

2 normal width 120mm fans to the front of the case (bottom section) using the filter bracket AND filter.

1 normal 80mm fan exhaust.

**This is the MOST fans the case will fit without modification.

4 out of 5 eggsHard to keep cool

Pros: Compact. Will accept a fairly long (but not tall) video card. Nice HTPC case.

Cons: Comes with no fans. Only has one factory fan mount location and that is for a 80mm in the back. I mistakenly thought this case would accommodate more cooling fans so I'm using an i7 2600k and a HD6950 video card. CPU and video card runs pretty hot. Video card height can be no taller than the PCI slot on the back of the case. A card with heat pipes that are taller than the card will not slide in. The the top facing power plug ins on my video card are very tight as the second level "shelf" is very close to the top of the card. Would probably work well for a generic HTPC with on the CPU graphics.

Other Thoughts: Looks can be deceiving. The photos of this case seem to show a bunch of fan mounts. What looks like 4 in the front and two on the top is really only a qualified 2 mounts in the front. It is POSSIBLE but very difficult to mount 2 120mm fan in the bottom front location but there no screw holes to mount fans. I used RTV to glue them in but there may be other creative solutions. What looks looks top mounts are blocked by the power supply.
