Pros: Great attention to detail. Thumbscrews everywhere, a plastic container for extra screws, rubber mounting system for drives, and there's a matching bezel available to cover optical drive bays. This is beyond great fit and finish.

Airflow is excellent, noise is low (but not completely absent), cable management is good and the case looks nice.

I really like the rotated motherboard design, since I'll never have an obsolete front IO panel. And I think it looks cool. There really is something to having a unique chassis. Did I mention I'm not going to be stuck with obsolete front ports, but do get to have good ol' firewire there? Or thunderbolt in a couple years? I love it.

This is really a professional case, capable of handling and cooling SSI EEB motherboards. Numerous review sites have mentioned that the real dual 140mm fans would be great for water cooling, but that's not my expertise. I do know it's very spacious inside thanks to the hard drive mounting system.

Cons: Price. I managed to snag it during one of the low blips, and I probably wouldn't get it otherwise.

The layout does not work and play well with "blower"-style centrifugal fan graphics cards, since the air goes out the front and gets sucked back in. But normal downfan cards are fine.

The case has a graphics card support brace, which is actually very nice, since it takes the strain off the PCI slot. I have a small (8") card and the brace provides noticeable support...

However the brace can impinge on large CPU coolers. I have a CM Hyper 212 Plus, which is a relatively narrow cooler with a 120mm fan, and the fan has to go on the "push" side because of the brace. I guess I could just leave it out and have it be like a normal chassis, but I think they could have redesigned it to give a few cm more clearance...

There are no tie-downs for cables on the backside of the motherboard tray (I just let them dangle and it's fine) and the aluminum also tends to take fingerprints.

Other Thoughts: I really like this case, largely for aesthetic reasons. So many cases are either plain white/black/black with a silver front/ black with trim/whatever boxes, or freakish mesh monstrosities.

Looking at one of the monstrosities get taken apart in a review, I realized the work done on the underlying metal to allow the mounting of the silly parts, the holes and connectors, was actually rather interesting to look at. I call this the "high tech" aesthetic.

This is different from the cheesy "look ma, I'm a Cylon!" parody of high tech, but much more in line with the architectural movement. I find this case is a good example of this aesthetic applied.

That is because of the rotated motherboard design combined with the aluminum grating. The effect is that the connectors, cables, etc are visible but veiled. So the experience of seeing the "tubes" is there, but there is still a nice sleek wrapper keeping the lines clean and the experience subdued.
