Small is beautiful. The LIAN LI Mini-Q PC-Q12 is a great chassis for those looking to build Mini ITX Media Center / HTPC that combines compactness, strength and style. Sleek aluminum construction with curved edge smoothly fits into your TV cabinet and complements your house decoration. Removing or attaching the side panel is easy thanks to the tool-less design. An 80mm top exhaust fan with abundance of vent holes ensures efficient ventilation. The HDD cage supports four 2.5” HDD for easy storage expansion. Two USB 3.0 connectors are built on the front panel for easy integration with the latest transfer technology. A preinstalled 80 PLUS 300w Micro-ATX PSU delivers robust and pure power for the entire system.
Nice workstation/HTPC case
Pros: Compact; not much wasted space. Clean design. Front panel USB 3.0. No external drive bays. Easy disassembly.
Cons: Front panel USB 3.0 connects to rear ports instead of a motherboard header. Many internal cables are way too long. No expansion slot. Chassis fan is not PWM.
Other Thoughts: I like the clean, simple design of this case a lot. It's very compact; yet provides just enough space for some half-decent cooling. My biggest complaint is that there's no expansion slot. Not a huge deal for me since I plan on using the Intel video anyway; but it would have been nice to have the option. It seems like this could have been done within the existing space constraints; certainly if the case were ¼" taller/longer.
