5 out of 5 eggsPretty decent case

Pros: Space! Glorious Space! This is a pretty good size case to be honest. Well crafted, sturdy aluminum case. Tons of 3.5" drive room. Motherboard being mounted towards the top of the case makes for plenty of breathing room for drives and PSU below.

The 3 included fans are fairly quiet, and seem to move plenty of air. Has lots of ventilation openings.

Was able to mount all my hardware and the system worked out perfectly!

Cons: For me, it was a big issue. This case is listed as supporting mounts for 6 x 3.5" drives and 4 x 2.5" drives. Well that's not exactly the case. There are places where you can physically mount 4 x 2.5" drives, but Lian Li only includes enough hardware for 2! Even listed as so in the included instruction guide. Not only that, I spent a couple hours looking to buy the correct hardware, only to not find it on Lian Li's website, or any other website.

But that was corrected by mounting all 4 drives on the top front inner panel (where you would normally mount 2 flat) by using 2 screws each on the edge of the drive and snapping them in vertically. It also made cable routing for 4 drives a ton easier. (SSD RAID 10) They aren't as secure as using 4 screws each, but its not like the system is going to move around or be subject to issues, and they are SSDs, not mechanical drives. So, it works. But it would have been nice to have gotten all the hardware, not half of it.

The hinge open front is nice, but be careful. My biggest issue was the mini-sata connection for the optical drive. Had to connect that last, and have to disconnect it to open, but that's fairly painless. They could have prevented issues with the cabling for the front panel if they simply had routed the front wiring to have enough and be pinned near the hinge point.

And yeah, on the side panels, open them straight out. I didn't have an issue, but you definitely want to be careful with them.

Other Thoughts: Overall, case works fine, looks great and my customer is pleased. And with the system being a RAID 10 SSD, its hilariously fast.

4 out of 5 eggsForgot important detail in previous review

Pros: Refer to my previous review.

Cons: I think it's important enough to amend my previous review to also warn of size restrictions when choosing a video card for use in this case. When it comes to the length of cards you are likely fine, it's the width of the card that could cause issues in this closing the case. Shop smart, look for a video card that is no more than 5" in width.

4 out of 5 eggsNear perfect

Pros: Pretty compact yet houses a good amount of hardware. Top notch premium materials and craftsmanship. I also love the hinged fan/radiator bracket. It's also generally easy to work in, opens up without hassle. Overall nice feature set. Worth the price tag!

Cons: The cables for the fans are a bit too short, you can't open the case fully with fans attached to motherboard headers. Also I find that you also need to be aware of how the clips for the side panels work, pull from the center straight out or you risk breaking one of the clips (Does not slide!).

Other Thoughts: The first con can be solved easily by using four pin fan extension cables, it might also be smart to get an extension cable for your USB 3.0 header as well. Now in regards to the clips that hold the side panels on; it's pretty obvious that Lian Li is well aware of the chance of a clip braking if the panels are mishandled as they include an extra clip in the bag of included hardware.

4 out of 5 eggsUpdate to previous glowing review

Coming Soon!

Pros: I still love this case, but there is room for improvement.

Cons: When the cover of the case swings open, there is considerable force placed on the internal USB3 port connector. This resulted in the first broken MB connector pins that I can recall ever happening to me (bent yes, but never broken off).
Extreme care needs to be taken to disconnect the USB3 cable from the MB BEFORE completely opening the case cover.
Perhaps Lian-Li should include/develop some type of 20pin quick connect adapter and include it with the case? Otherwise a longer USB3 chassis cable should be used by Lian-Li instead, because this is a very common location for internal USB ports.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet Size, Sublte Styling

Pros: Easy installation of motherboard with no obstructions
Easy installation of hard disk drives: remove bay, install drives, insert bay! Nothing easier
Power supply and case fans, external ports are all in optimal locations for my setup.

Cons: The only cons I have are pretty petty and few; I wish that the 120mm fans had 4-pin connectors so that my motherboard could adjust/manage their power - that said, with the MB in another compartment, it would never know how hot the drives were.... Hmmmm, I guess this is not a bad thing. :/
Cable management is tight, but that's to be expected and depends on if you made smart/wise choices for power supply and motherboard.

Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend this case to anyone who has a media center server/pc -- and I will certainly suggest this case to others.
This case replaces my mid-tower Lian-Li. My system along with all my drives can breath much cooler now.
