4 out of 5 eggsGood for the money...

Pros: Aluminum everywhere. Good heat dissipation, fits standard ATX boards. Nice looking finish.

Cons: Biggest Con is that the power supply was unplugged from inside its little heat tunnel, and if thats not bad enough, it was set to 230 Volts! Good thing i read these reviews and checked it first. Multiple screws misthreaded. I liked the design except for the one screw on each side that holds the top on. They could have gotten rid of those and used some sort of slide motion to remove it. No Vista support for the VFD display. I better get my rebate.

Other Thoughts: Great for a home theatre machine. Running an ASUS M2N mobo with an MSI video card with HDMI output. Couple that with the LG combo Blu-Ray/ HD DVD drive and you've got yourself a nice little multimedia machine.

5 out of 5 eggsDecent HTPC case

Pros: A steal with the $100 MIR, great price for an all aluminum HTPC with power supply and VFD.

Cons: Be advised that is a NOT a toolless case, you will need the correct tools to install or disassemble components, the cheap ten dollor tool kit just won't quite cut it. With that said, my installation was a snap, everything lined-up and mounted correctly.
Use LCD Smartie 5.4 to get the front display to work and save yourself the headache. This program is free and you can program the display.

Other Thoughts: Decent case, don't wait, looks amazing in my AV rack.

4 out of 5 eggsGREAT VALUE WITH THE $100 REBATE

Pros: IF! the rebate comes in price is a steal. good looks, lcd display is nice.

Cons: need to use up 2 mb fan connectors for the 2 fans on the back. took a lot of guess work & google to make the display run. front dvd cover has a lock & hinge system that will need modding. my MSI 6600gt with a zero therm cooler touches the top cover but still fits.

Other Thoughts: all in all a great htpc case with lcd display & ir reciever, all works fine with xpMCE, be prepared to do some modding to improve dvd cover, air flow and psu which is loud.

4 out of 5 eggsProblem mounting.

Pros: Great idea. Despite all the problems I'm sure once I get the air flow problem corrected it will be great. The design is why I'm giving it a high rating.

Cons: Hight is a problem for most of my cases. Instructions for mounting on a AMD 939 were difficult to understand, could not mount, ended up using different bolts/nuts.

Other Thoughts: Way to tall, I made a funnel to direct airflow from the top to the back of my case to use my case fans.

3 out of 5 eggsWhere's the QA testing?

Pros: Price: If the $100 rebate comes in, good price for an aluminum HTPC with power supply .
Exterior Appearance: nice finish, door covers ports and drives. Not as nice as Lian Li or Silverstone but pretty nice.

Cons: Assembly: At the factory, the power supply was not connected to the external AC socket! I would have thought the power supply was broken if I didn't read the other reviews here. You have to unmount the power supply to connect the cable which is hidden in an air-box running down the side. Why don't they test these things?
Interior Build Quality: Some of the screws are too tight, deforming the soft aluminum they are threaded into, or causing the screw slot to strip.

Other Thoughts: Pick your own quiet power supply and replace the stock one, especially if you need to power a PCI express video card.
That air-box takes up a lot of room and can resonate if the power supply on one end or the fan on the other end are audible.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Full ATX Case

Pros: Very high quality aluminum case. 450w powersupply works fine so as all the electrical and mechanical parts. I wanted a cheap quiet case to place in audio/video shelf but this is a lot nicer than expected for the money.

Cons: The screws holding powersupply could bave been a little bit bigger.

Other Thoughts: The internal space for parts is tight but given the exterior size limitation and hoding large ATX MB, something has to give. I am very glad I got this case. Let's hope that the Rebate goes through.

4 out of 5 eggsVFD works with Vista (use FrontView only!)

Pros: Cheap, clean looking case. If the rebate comes, I'll be sitting pretty with a decent HTPC setup.

Cons: Poor documentation, needed to research alot to get the vfd to work.

Other Thoughts: I want to share my experience and save you all a lot of wasted time and frustration, just download the latest FrontView from and your vfd will show up (trial, probably have to purchase) (you don’t need anything else (avoid lcdsmartie & port95nt).
When you fire up media center in Vista, it says “media center”, it shows the artist, song, song conter, track #, etc. It just works.
I couldn’t get the remote usb to work though, I will probably use my external device for that.

2 out of 5 eggsLook Elsewhere

Pros: Sturdy construction. External appearance.

Cons: Where to start. Too many to list. PSU weighs about the same as a box of tic-tacs. Lots of wasted space inside. Only one HDD mount. Display requires the parallel port, my P35 doesn't have one. If you upgrade the PSU be careful, poor design butts the PSU against the drive rack, so if yours if longer than the one that came in it, you're out of luck. Too many small screws that are not easy to reach and easily fall under the MB during assy.

Other Thoughts: Don't get me wrong, for the rebated price I'll tolerate all the shortcomings. It's ashame they didn't think the design out because it could be a nice case.

3 out of 5 eggsWarning to newegg customers

Pros: It's Aluminum and decently made.

Cons: Eagle doesn't pay out on their rebates! I bought an eagle 700watt psu almost a year ago and still no rebate. I wouldn't expect to recieve one on this item either.

Other Thoughts: Be warned This comapny doesn't pay out on their rebates!!!

5 out of 5 eggsI love this case

Pros: Nice looking, fairly easy to install, everything works. It makes a cool HTPC system.

Cons: Wires wires wires, there are wires everywhere once you install your motherboard. Power supply comes unplugged from the factory, you must remove it and plug it in. Just pull out the screws actually holding the powersupply in then reach in and pull the power cable out and plug in the power supply. Not too hard but added 30 minutes to install.

Needs more drive bays, only room for 1 5.25 and 2 3.5 drives, I want more. If the rebate shows then this is an awesome deal.

Other Thoughts: I am using this with XP MCE 2005, the remote works flawlessly, I also have the MS remote, they are not compatible but I am able to use both. I was hoping to get rid of my MS remote receiver but the built in one does not support MS remote. Not as quiet as I was hoping but it does stay fairly cool.

Display is ueseless. Can't read it from 10' away and all it shows is title name of program you are watching or scrolls whatever you tell it to scroll. It looks good but has very little functionality.
