Cooler Master's Cavalier 3 blends strength, practicality, and beauty into one perfect case. It takes up arms against life's little troubles with a shield of steel, and keeps it light and cool with aluminum. There is "cool" to spare with its forward 80mm fan and 120mm rear fan, and the aluminum drive bay shield.

The Cavalier 3 boasts an exceptional five external 5.25" drive bays, one of the 3.5" drive bays, and the assurance of drive space with four internal 3.5" hard drive bays. It keeps the two USB ports, Firewire port, and two audio ports out of the way yet still accessible at its sides.

That same practicality continues with screwless drive cages and folded-over metal edges for easy and painless installation. The beauty of this case is at once part of its solid construction, and yet transcends it. This sleek black case will catch your eye with ease, bringing your desk a mystique of modern perfection for years to come.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case for the price

Pros: This is a very good case for the money. I do not have any issues with heat, and have owned the case for years.
I also bought the HTPC version of this case a few years ago that came with a power supply and all has worked greatwithout any issues.
For the price you cannot beat this case.

Cons: Side vent should fit 120mm fan.

5 out of 5 eggsNicer than expected

Pros: I ordered parts for an entire new system from Newegg. One of the packages was delayed a day but I had to open the others to see my new toys. One was this case. The first night I took it out and just kept staring at it. It’s absolutely beautiful. It runs cool, it’s got a lot of space inside (no issues with video cards running into drive bays, SATA connectors coming off the back edge of a motherboard, etc.) and the tool-free design holds everything in place securely (although they leave the option for screws if you’re paranoid).

Cons: This isn’t really a con but the front air intake is on the bottom of the case. Mine sits on a carpeted floor and the standard ~¼” feet sink into the carpet. I went to the hardware store and bought a set of 1” diameter furniture sliders designed to fit over furniture legs and slipped them on. They extended the standard feet by ~1/2-3/4 of an inch and now hold it off the floor and you’d never know anything had been done.

Other Thoughts: To whoever said that the door only looked good one way, well, it only fits one way. You just slip the top and bottom hinge pins out and move them to the other side leaving the door the way it is.

Buy this. It’s a really great case.

4 out of 5 eggsCAV-T03-UW Issues

Pros: Good aesthetic and solid design.

Cons: Cooling is the major issue. Removing that side funnel is necessary to provide filtering on both panel ports and provide room for larger cooling devices such as Zalman. The air intake to the case should have been designed better and the case must be placed on a hard surface free of obstruction. A better rear 120mm fan and interior fan is recommended to prevent hot spots. The case itself has great potential, but I think a few decisions were rushed.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case -- dubious cooling

Pros: Well for one, this case looks fantastic. This is a machinists piece. The sanded aluminum front looks fantastic, this is the thing that first caught my eye, and what really made me buy this attractive case.
Edges are all deburred. Craftsmanship is excellent on this case, I might even say top notch. The ability to switch door swivel direction is a nice touch.

This case doesn't have any really flashy lights, and is fairly unobtrusive -- exactly what I want out of a case. As I've said, this case gets an A+ when it comes to styling.

Includes all fans.

Cons: The cooling situation is dubious at best:
Note what is missing from the pictures? First of all, the front fan is only 80mm, not like the 120mm rear fan. Why? That fan by the way, is pretty noisy. Also, the included fans don't have the normal 3 prong fan plug. Again, why? This makes no sense.

The front air intake is on the bottom of the case. I understand they did so a grill wouldn't disturb the elegance of the front, but this would be a useless intake if the case sat on a carpeted floor.
The worst part is something I didn't see mentioned on any of the major review websites: The front air intake is pathetic. Not only does the fan have to overcome a honey comb grill, but the actual room for intake is a 1/2" x 4" slot on the bottom of the case. As if it isn't bad enough, the slot is blocked by a steel plate which covers the entire slot, and has a series of .125" diameter holes drilled in it. It's also worth mentioning that these holes are spaced widely apart.

Other Thoughts: I cut open that honey comb in the front, removed the restrictive steel plate, and replaced the stock fan with a temperature controlled Enermax fan. I plan to cut up the case a bit to allow better airflow, and a larger fan.

Overall this case is nice, but certainly not a 5 star case. It sure looks nice.

4 out of 5 eggsNice case with a major flaw

Pros: Nice looking sturdy case. Door is strong and easily reversed without tools. Plenty of room for my AM2 6400+ build. All the leads coming from the front ports are well marked and easily matched up with the MOBO headers.

Cons: PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING THIS CASE! You can't see a front intake vent in any of the pictures? Why, because its on the bottom of the case! Thats right, if you set this case on the floor, it will vacuum the dust right off you floor. If you have carpet, it will be blocked completely. Keep this case up off the ground and you'll be fine.

Other Thoughts: Nice, case, great looking, but the plastic piece that says COOLER MASTER is glued in place, do de-badging will be a chore. Toolless drive bays work well. Unfortuntely the thumb screws on the back are not attached to the side door, so they are can be lost like a regular screw. Thumb screws should always be attached.

5 out of 5 eggsMoney well spent....

Pros: Great quality construction. The metal is sturdy and the Door is a good 1.4 inch thick aluminum. Screwless mounts locked tight and nice brass standoffs were included. I wired the 2 fans at 5v direct and they are very quiet. Great deal for the money.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Great case for normal home use but not a gamers case. In my opinion a gamer case has alot more fans.

5 out of 5 eggsA Very Complete Case

Pros: This case has all the adapters for an easy installation. You do not need to look closely at your motherboard any more to connect the annoying case switches. Case also uses clips to hold internals.

Cons: No Cons.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Case

Pros: Slick looking case, good value, well constructed.

Cons: Comes with molex fans, useless.

Other Thoughts: For the price you can't go wrong, just plan on replacing the fans if you want less wires in your case.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent case, 120mm fan realy help for cooling down the temp. The tool-free design is amazing, it make everything be easy and simple such as cleanning, replacing parts.

Cons: It's gonne be perfect if the side vent be bigger. one more think, if cooler master can make the front fan a little easier for uninstalling, I would like to pay more money to them.

5 out of 5 eggsbetter then my friends lian li

Pros: Its a great case and its not very expensive. All metal strong. All harddrive and cdrom slots are easy to understand and no screws. Its big but somewhat light. Only thing I dont like is that it has a door but I guess that a matter of preferrence. the door is also opened and closed magnetically. 2 blue LEDs very bright.

Cons: really nothing could have used a stronger magnet but it does the job.
