The Cooler Master RC-690-KKN1-GP is designed to keep your system cool, no matter how hard you work it. The top and front are made of a metal mesh to facilitate airflow. Three 120mm fans are installed at the factory, in the front, rear and side. There is room for four more, two on the top, and one each on the bottom and side. You can also add an 80mm fan to the back of the motherboard tray to cool the CPU from both sides.
Each of the five external bays has the same mesh cover and the 5.25" to 3.5" adapter is also. All of the bays have a tool-less design for easy installation. The removable hard drive racks are also tool-less and come with anti-vibration pads for decreased noise. Each of the expansion slots has its own lockdown lever to eliminate screws. Cable routing clips minimize clutter and increase airflow.
To keep the case’s design lines pure the two USB, one FireWire, one eSATA and two audio ports have been put on the top of the case. This also makes them easier to access if the case is beside your desk. The power and reset buttons have been mounted on the side of the front bezel for the same reason.
Pros: Oh wow, where to begin... Very roomy inside, and lots of places to put fans (even the stock fans that come with it cover the essential airflow points). The 120mm fans that come with it are quiet. All of the fan locations are drilled out to handle various fan sizes. The hard drive rack is nice. The cable ties are useful for a few of the wires in your case, but for the ones that are in the way, you can just unscrew them.
The power supply mounted on the bottom may seem like a bad idea... Until you realize there's a fan hole right under it. If you get a two-fan power supply, it will drag cold air out from the bottom of the case, and straight out the back. Virtually eliminating the power supply from the list of heat sources in the case! Very nice!
The construction of the case is very sturdy, and has a very nice finish. I barely cut myself removing the top cover. 1 cut during the whole build is pretty good I'd say.
eSATA connector on top accomodates motherboards without it.
Cons: I'm nitpicking at this point really. The power LED connector for this case's front panel was a 2pin, and I needed a 3pin. Not a terribly hard modification to make if you run into this problem.
No PC speaker? I'm not sure if this can even be considered a con though, since most motherboards have other means of reporting errors these days.
The top and front covers are a little hard to remove. Take them off once, get the work done, and don't put them back on until the end of the build and hopefully this will become a non-issue.
The top connection header wires are a bit long. It's probably bad to complain that any wire is 'too long,' since longer wires will accomodate all situations, but these things can reach about a foot outside the case from the header. Yikes.
Other Thoughts: I think a few people said it didn't come with any screws. It's funny, because I caught myself thinking the same thing. On the 5 1/4" drive bays they placed all the screws into the metal of the case. There are more than enough there to handle the mounting of your components. The case itself comes with 12 brass motherboard standoffs if you needed to know that as well.
Also, the 3 1/2" bay adapter for the floppy drive is great, just be sure to install it in the right orientation. Some users reported it sticking out an inch too far, and it's likely they put it on the adapter backwards. Looking at it again, it probably will stick out a bit if it is on the wrong way. Just examine the diagrams carefully and/or trial and error it otherwise.

Great case for the money!

Pros: Great cooling, inexpensive, nice aesthetics, easy to work with, roomy, quality construction.
Cons: Steel, heavy.
Other Thoughts: I replaced my 3 year old WaveMaster with this case and couldn't be happier. I outfitted it with 7 Masscool 120mm fans plus the 80mm behind the mobo. Dropped idle/load temps on my E6600 @ 3.2ghz by 6c.
If you're looking for a new case on a budget this would be one of my first stops. I was also considering the Antec 900 and I don't regret deciding on the 690 at all. Fully recommended.

Pros: Great case. Had plenty of room for all components. Fits a GTX 260 video card with no problems. Definitely keeps everything nice and cool with plenty of air flow.
Cons: Not really a con, but the power button could be a little better.

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: This case has plenty of room, it can hold the bigger video cards. I bought this in June of 09, all my fans work fine. I just ordered a 4 pack of the same 120mm fans for 16 bucks, this case is completely perforated so it has plenty of airflow. Abuse all the fan slots and you have a wind tunnel. I got this case in a combo with a 750watt power supply from cooler master for 90 dollars case+psu back in June of 09. I would still pay 70 dollars for this case because A. its cheap, B. its big enough, and ventilated enough.. for people who like to spend money on 2way+ xfire/sli.
Cons: Absolutely none, Love it.. built the rig myself.
5 Eggs because I have enough room for 2 way sli, possibly 3.. More than enough hard drive/disk dive bays, and a completely perforated case for maximum airflow.
Side note.. Don't spill anything on it.

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Great airflow, strong case, cable ties built in for good cable management, screwless drive / card installation and plenty of places to add more fans if I need it.
Cons: The power suppy being on the bottom posses a problem I overlooked: cable length. The 24 pin main cable didnt reach the socket on my motherboard without pulling it uncomfortably tight and pressing on my graphics card - minus one egg. This was fixed by adding an extention but its something I thought you should know.
Other Thoughts: Its a good case for your money. Just be mindfull of the power cables.
