The Cooler Master RC-690-KKA1-GP is designed to keep your system cool, no matter how hard you work it. The top and front are made of a metal mesh to facilitate airflow. Three 120mm fans are installed at the factory, in the front, rear and side. There is room for four more, two on the top, and one each on the bottom and side. You can also add an 80mm fan to the back of the motherboard tray to cool the CPU from both sides. The included Real Power Pro PSU delivers 550W of power to your system.

Each of the five external bays has the same mesh cover and the 5.25" to 3.5" adapter is also. All of the bays have a tool-less design for easy installation. The removable hard drive racks are also tool-less and come with anti-vibration pads for decreased noise. Each of the expansion slots has its own lockdown lever to eliminate screws. Cable routing clips minimize clutter and increase airflow.

To keep the case's design lines pure the two USB, one FireWire, one eSATA and two audio ports have been put on the top of the case. This also makes them easier to access if the case is beside your desk. The power and reset buttons have been mounted on the side of the front bezel for the same reason.

  • newegg Superior Expandability with 10 Drive Bays Boasting five external 5.25" drive bays, and five internal 3.5" drive bays, the Cooler Master CM 690 provides superior expandability. With the included 5.25"-to-3.5" converter, easily mount an external 3.5" device on the chassis.
  • newegg Excellent Cooling System The Cooler Master CM 690 features three 120mm fans (front, rear and side), as well as front and top mesh panels for maximum airflow and enhanced heat dissipation. • newegg Tool Free Installation The tool-free design ensures quick installation or upgrade for expansion cards, 5.25" and 3.5" devices, so you can save the time spent on setting up and start enjoying computing as soon as possible.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Case to work with

Pros: Easy to work with, built in wire bundling for management, multiple hard drive bays separate from other areas of case so you don't have to sacrifice optical bays for HDD bays. The PS on the bottom is nice since it gets it out of the way.

Cons: fan on side is a little loud but thats not too big of an issue i just unplugged it since there is more than enough airflow if you really need it by a silent fan otherwise just forget it but its amazing space for fans for extra cooling is great esspecially since i am running a Quad core + SLI configuration with 2 9800 GTX+ cards heat generation is massive

Other Thoughts: good enough that im buying 2 more today...

5 out of 5 eggsmaster of cool

Pros: simple setup, easy to install anything. no tools required - great air flow, and great design

Cons: case is a bit heavy, and to take the front peice off you are supposed to pull it off from the bottom - it feels like you might break something after a lot of times doing this

5 out of 5 eggsGood case and supply

Pros: -Tool-less (except for motherboard mounting)
-Supply is nice and quiet when idle (not sure about under load my other fans become audible)
-Case fans are quiet with my ASUS p5Q pro set to silent,
Full out they aren't too bad either
-Big enough to fit my 4870 + PEG connectors
-Fits a xigmatek 120mm cooler
-Easy to work in and route cables
-Arrived via UPS with no dents or chips
-Top ports are convenient for me
-Looks nice

Cons: -Taking the front panel off should be easier, the clips look cheap.
-Had to discopnnect the 4 LEDs on the front fan because I don't like flashy stuff
-Front fan lead is short, I had to make modifications to reach the header on my motherboard
-Power LED is super bright, I unplugged it.

Other Thoughts: As good as or better than any Antec case/Supply I've ever worked with

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Room,Power supply,Fans (and can add more),Design and most of all keeps things cool with all the added led fans I put into it.I managed to fit in a HUGH (V1 thermaltake) heatsink for my processor.

Cons: plastic cable holders fell apart b4 arrival only had three to work with but not a problem since they can be moved.

Other Thoughts: Wished it had a side window but I have to big led fans that look real nice and you can still see in the case from the front because of the mesh design.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case!

Pros: This was my first attempt at building my own computer. I took a long to looking over all the available cases. This case offers all the extras I wanted and even included a good PSU. For the price I paid it was the best deal IMO. This case has very good cooling, installation is very easy, and plenty of room for expansion. I really enjoyed putting together my own computer, and feel this case will easily last for years.

Cons: One of the included case fans was a little louder than the others, but that wasn't enough to deduct a point.

Other Thoughts: ASUS P5QC MB, Mushkin XP Ascent 2x2GB DDR2 memory, 2x250GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 HDs, ASUS V72 heatsink, EVGA GeForce 8600 GTS 256MG DDR3

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Case

Pros: Decent PSU - odd everyone makes a big deal about Wattage -- use a power supply calculator and you'll see that most likely you'll never need above 700 and quite possibly never need above the 550 watts this thing delivers.

I like the location of the power supply (bottom of case). Makes cabling easier.

Cons: Side case fan is a little loud. I disconnected it and am patiently monitoring temperature. No issues after a week, though.

The cable management, while a nice touch, is perma-installed and can snap off fairly easily. Luckily, the one that broke off is the one that needed to go for my SLI setup.

Other Thoughts: A little pricey, but very roomy.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it!

Pros: No tools required! Nice perforated design keeps interior nice and cool. Design makes it easy to organize insides.

Cons: The side fan is very loud, but this can be fixed.

Other Thoughts: Its a "large" mid-size tower, being a little larger then I expected. But that can be a very good thing as it will house a lot of hardware.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Case

Pros: This case have great air flow and is pleasantly quiet. I really like having the USB/eSATA cables at the top; it really makes things easier. The PSU seems to be running strong. After running some benchmark tests with my Zotac 9600 GT video card, everything runs stable.

Cons: While having the USB/eSATA ports at the top is a definite plus, it does make it hard to install a 5.25” drive at the very top of the case. Not a big deal, but it’s still a little annoying. One thing that’s really not so great with this case is the fact that I had to take a hammer to get the faceplates off for my DVD drives. They do clip onto the case, but once you get that undone they get caught on the mounting rails for the drives.

Other Thoughts: My Hardware:

Asus P5N-D nForce 750i
Core 2 Duo E7200
Zotac 9600 GT 512MB
4GB Corsair DDR2800
Seagate 250GB 3Gb

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Case

Pros: Excellent design, and airflow. Top mounted e-Sata, usb, firewire and speaker ports. HD trays & very quiet (fans)

Cons: space between case and where the connectors for the HD's go is very small, normal sata cables & power connectors barley fit. I used 90 degree sata cables, but power still was tight. The case came with the powersupply, so the excuse that I wasn't paying attention doesn't apply.

Other Thoughts: Excellent design & overall looks are appealing. I was impressed with the airflow more than anything.
