The Cooler Master RC-690-KKA1-GP is designed to keep your system cool, no matter how hard you work it. The top and front are made of a metal mesh to facilitate airflow. Three 120mm fans are installed at the factory, in the front, rear and side. There is room for four more, two on the top, and one each on the bottom and side. You can also add an 80mm fan to the back of the motherboard tray to cool the CPU from both sides. The included Real Power Pro PSU delivers 550W of power to your system.
Each of the five external bays has the same mesh cover and the 5.25" to 3.5" adapter is also. All of the bays have a tool-less design for easy installation. The removable hard drive racks are also tool-less and come with anti-vibration pads for decreased noise. Each of the expansion slots has its own lockdown lever to eliminate screws. Cable routing clips minimize clutter and increase airflow.
To keep the case's design lines pure the two USB, one FireWire, one eSATA and two audio ports have been put on the top of the case. This also makes them easier to access if the case is beside your desk. The power and reset buttons have been mounted on the side of the front bezel for the same reason.

great case
- Pros: this case is exceptionally well built. it has rolled edges, extremely sturdy construction, rubber feet, just great craftsmanship all around. plenty of options for cooling. 6, count them, 6 120mm fan slots. stock power supply is surprisingly good as well, for the price most of this case is a beauty
- Cons: there are only a couple things here that really bothered me. 1) the clips to help with cable managemant more often than not hindered it. they also got in the way of installing my motherboard, which is standard size. good idea, bad execution. 2) I truly do love the tool less hard drive bays but here is my issue, you have to wire them through the back because they do not fit within the side of the case. becasue of this, if you have an older IDE cables then they wont fit on it. the back end closes in about 6 mm which is 2mm to close for the IDE cables.
Feature Rich But Not Without Flaws
- Pros: I read a number of reviews on this case before I opted to buy it. Overall, I like the look of the case and its organization. Features I like are the sturdiness of the case, the cooling organization, the tooless design and the wire harness are all positive points. The weight of this case is immense. My grandpa would say it's built like a "brick out house".
For those people complaining about the wiring harness feature, they lack patience and expect the wires to just behave. The harness works well provided you take the time to think about your wiring. It does work.
The wiring harness on on the top ports is top notch quality cabling and all USB and 1394 leads have full plugs versus separate pin outs. The inside is relatively free of sharp edges.
The Power switch works fine for me, so I don't know what the other reviewers are dealing with. Maybe their fingers are too sore from playing their fragging games all day long?
- Cons: After assembly and running for a few days, I have some cons. First off, MOVE THE SIDE FAN!!! The side panel is a sound transmitter and there is no vibration isolation grommets on the fan, so at soon as you plug that side fan in, it sets off a low pitched HUM! Move the side fan to either the bottom port or one of the top ports and the system will be a lot quieter. I am still making adjustments for noise coming from the case that is most likely due to one of the other fan placements.
One thing you should watch out for however is if your motherboard has side mount SATA ports. This can be a bit challenging since the harness takes the wires right along that area. Finally, my biggest gripe is with the length of the 12v ATX connector lead. This 4 pin plug is almost always up by the Processor and as delivered, it is not long enough to follow the harness. You end up having to stretch it straight across the motherboard. This looks cheesy.
- Other Thoughts: I moved from a 4 year old Antec Sonata case to this. I felt the Antec Sonata was substantially quieter, but recent Antec models seem to be lacking in quality from a few years ago. I am not unhappy with this purchase, just not satisfied with the initial sound levels. But this can be corrected with tunning. I may end up removing one fan for peace and quiet. I suspect the front "blue LED" fan is the noisy one and it is the first candidate to go...

Wonderful Case to work with
- Pros: Easy to work with, built in wire bundling for management, multiple hard drive bays separate from other areas of case so you don't have to sacrifice optical bays for HDD bays. The PS on the bottom is nice since it gets it out of the way.
- Cons: fan on side is a little loud but thats not too big of an issue i just unplugged it since there is more than enough airflow if you really need it by a silent fan otherwise just forget it but its amazing space for fans for extra cooling is great esspecially since i am running a Quad core + SLI configuration with 2 9800 GTX+ cards heat generation is massive
- Other Thoughts: good enough that im buying 2 more today...
master of cool
- Pros: simple setup, easy to install anything. no tools required - great air flow, and great design
- Cons: case is a bit heavy, and to take the front peice off you are supposed to pull it off from the bottom - it feels like you might break something after a lot of times doing this
Good case and supply
- Pros: -Tool-less (except for motherboard mounting)
-Supply is nice and quiet when idle (not sure about under load my other fans become audible) -Case fans are quiet with my ASUS p5Q pro set to silent, Full out they aren't too bad either -Big enough to fit my 4870 + PEG connectors -Fits a xigmatek 120mm cooler -Easy to work in and route cables -Arrived via UPS with no dents or chips -Top ports are convenient for me -Looks nice
- Cons: -Taking the front panel off should be easier, the clips look cheap.
-Had to discopnnect the 4 LEDs on the front fan because I don't like flashy stuff -Front fan lead is short, I had to make modifications to reach the header on my motherboard -Power LED is super bright, I unplugged it.
- Other Thoughts: As good as or better than any Antec case/Supply I've ever worked with
