5 out of 5 eggsexcellent case - sharp looking - good airflow - quiet

Pros: Best looking and coolest/quietest case I have ever owned. Was thinking of getting a water cooling setup. Hence I bought this case. However the existing fans are good enough that I did not need to water cool.

Cons: No filters. So you have to blow it out and keep it clean a little more often than you would if you had filters. However I'm pretty sure filters would restrict the airflow.

5 out of 5 eggsA few years old

Pros: Large, great air flow, solid construction. Not one problem since the date of purchase in December 2011.

Cons: USB 2.0 are upside down. I wasn't able to lock one plastic clip into place on my dual width GTX 760 and I cannot lock the clips into place on the GTX 460.

Other Thoughts: Everything is still working and I mean everything that is original to the case. I should get my GTX 970's tomorrow perhaps I can lock those into place with the clips.

I wish Cooler Master was clearer on the web site how large of a radiator the case will accept, it isn't on the capability chart.

5 out of 5 eggsProfessional.

Pros: Named my Tower: HAF Shell. This is a awesome tower! Plenty of Room, The fans are strong in air flow. The amount of custom modification ideas are nearly endless.

Cons: Wish this tower had strong built on handles. The only way to lift is grabbing the whole tower from the bottom - which feels safer anyways. Glad this has wheels! The blue light on the front is stupid bright, wish I could dim that tape cover while I sleep!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case, but have to replace a fan already

Pros: Great airflow, with tons of space inside. No problem finding places to tuck wires, until I get a modular PSU.

Cons: The top 230mm fan started failing the other day, after only 2 months, so I need to find a good replacement fan. Not docking an egg for it though.

3 out of 5 eggsAlright

Pros: -Fits SLI GTX 780's with lots of room to spare

-Moves alot of air (I installed the rear case fan pulling air from the front from the 3.5 bay, I got water cooling)

Red and black matched my old theme as I upgraded from a CM Storm Scout (had to dremmel out drive cage to fit SLI 780's)

-Tooless install and spots for 2 x SSD's

-HEAVY and will deter weaklings from stealing, ESPECIALLY with all parts installed (Also a con)

Cons: -Motherboard cut out isn't big enough, I had to pull my motherboard out and put electrical tape on the liquid cooling bracket because first boot was stuck in an endless start / restart

-A marking ( I think the D one) Is incorrectly marked for ATX motherboards and is therefor, in the wrong spot (its where an E-ATX should be near front)

-The brackets for the optional installing your PSU on top interfere with installing the CM Nepton 140XL Liquid cooler where the rear fan was (took much swearing and trying to get it there)

-Really not enough space to hide all the cables behind back panel, as putting it back on was a chore because all the cables pushing on the panel

-HEAVY!! I actually pulled my lower back muscles lifting this thing around with all my stuff in it

-Can't install a fan at bottom of case once the PSU is installed even if there is two slots (I really wanted to)

Other Thoughts: Would I buy this gain the way it is? No. I would have went for a more modern case with bigger cut outs for CPU Cooler brackets for sure, and more back panel space.

Cooler Master needs to add rubber grommets in its slots where you run cables through and also make the USB 3.0 panel match the other slots, it looks odd.

5 out of 5 eggsWell thought out design

Pros: As big and roomy as I had hoped
Plenty of places to route cables
Lots of tie offs for cable management
Big, quiet fans
Controls and input/output jacks are in the right place
Love the HD rack and fan placement
All set up for water cooling
Plenty of screws, tie offs and do-dads
Solid and sturdy design

Cons: Wish it had dust filters
Would be cooler if the entire window were see through
Blue power and HDD lights are very bright but that's easy enough to solve with some tape.

Other Thoughts: Went from a Lian-Li mid-tower to this for my newest build. I wanted something with plenty of room, big quiet fans, an easy to install/swap HDD rack and the ability to easily change up later ex. add water cooling or change fan set up. This case delivered all of that, and more, at a very reasonable price. I especially liked how much room there was behind the mobo to route and tie off cables. Initially I thought I would have a hard time closing it up the way I routed everything, but there is even more room than appears. Case looks sweet but I do wish the whole side windows was transparent. I suppose I could mod it if I really wanted, but I knew that when I bought it, so I can't knock off points. I do wish there were fan filters but my computer is in a pretty dust-free area so it's really not a problem for me and again, I also knew that they weren't included prior to purchase. Perfect for me, it was exactly what I wanted, and a bit more, at a very reasonable price.

5 out of 5 eggsBig & quiet

Pros: Big and Quiet.. The cavernous black interior has room for all sorts of goodies. The large CoolerMaster Hyper 212 cpu cooler fits with about 1/4" to spare between the top of the cooler and the side case fan. The 3 x 230mm fans are quiet.

Cons: If you like little computers like the Mac Pro, stay away. The massive interior on this has room to store 6 Mac Pros and your lunch.

5 out of 5 eggsMonster

Pros: Huge. Did I mention it's LARGE?

Heavy gauge metal. It weighs a lot.

"High air flow" is an understatement. The three huge fans are great! Although I'm not looking forward to replacing them in future.

Space inside and to spare. The drive bays are plentiful and well laid out.

Ample space behind the mobo tray for wiring made possible an incredible tidy build with virtually no wires dangling about. The openings are perfectly placed.

Quality throughout. Built to accomodate a high-end gaming build, water cooling, etc.

Cons: Just a couple of minor annoyances. Only two USB 3.0 ports on the front. Only two? Please. On a box of this class, that's just wrong.

My ASRock mobo had only a pair of USB 2.0 ports available for the front panel. The panel has two pairs. So two of them are dead, unusable. Not a big issue but it made me realize there should be snap-on covers or some such so that dead ports are hidden and not mistaken for live ports by a user.

So, I have too many USB 2.0 ports and too few 3.0. Take the hint, CM! No eggs off, though. Its still a great case at a decent price.

Other Thoughts: I see that it's out of stock at the moment. Not a surprise, this case is probably popular and very well should be.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case

Pros: Super roomy and keeps the parts cool with sufficient fans.

Cons: The only cons I have is that it is a tank. The wheels that come with the case broke within weeks of me assembling the case. Would of been five eggs if the wheels weren't so bad.

Other Thoughts: Overall the case is of solid construction. Only problem were the wheels.

4 out of 5 eggsLots to love

Pros: When building a machine in this case, it's abundantly clear that someone put a lot of thought in to it.

For starters, the hard disk bays are small, removable trays with snap in pegs for 3.5" disks, and a pair of 2.5" holders, the 5.25" bays are likewise set up for easy drive insertion and removal. Large holes throughout the mobo tray(not removable) allow for cables to be fed and organized cleanly. A small, sturdy tray on the bottom can suspend the power supply above the bottom of the case. The front port selection is great. There was plenty of space for my large heatsink and GeForce 970. I couldn't think of a screw, adapter, or cable that wasn't included.

On powering up for the first time, I was impressed at how little noise it made. The large fans move a lot of air at a sound volume quiet enough that I've forgotten if it was powered up or not.

Cons: Make no mistake, this is a large case. I dread the day I will again be forced to maneuver its mighty bulk from its current resting place. There are wheels included so small changes in position are easy on mid thickness carpet. But only by including a cart with decent suspension could changing rooms or homes with this case be made simpler.

The documentation could use a little touching up, and labels on some cables would help save a minute or two during builds.

I have no idea what to say about the aesthetics of the case, as I've always been a fan of angled obsidian monoliths, I like it, saner people may not.

I feel placing the power button on top of something tall and sturdy enough to make a good footrest was a poor choice.

The LEDs on the front of the case guide ships through my rocky harbor safely on all but the foggiest of nights. (They're bright, seriously, put some scotch tape on them to dim them and never stare directly at them without proper protection.)

Other Thoughts: Honestly, any full-tower will suffer the main drawback of this case, ie size. However, very few full-towers will offer the benefits this case has.

If you want a full tower, I recommend looking in to this case as a first option.
