Best Case Ever
- Pros: I have had many cases and this is by far the best. My last case was a CM830 which is similar in many ways but not as good.
>Very quiet with the large fans >Huge amount of room in the case - easy to work on internals. (also see cons) >Plenty of room for radiators if water cooling. >Slide out mobo tray with the back cut out so you can access the cooler attachment without removing the mobo (finally!) >Ton of drive bays >Excellent fit/finish >Great cable management. Comes with cable anchors. >Easy to assemble >Seems to keep everything cool with minimal noise (I have an i7 920 OC's to 3.8GHz on air). >HDD cage is great! >Easy remove/clean filters for the fans
- Cons: Very few cons, these are very nitpicky...
>Very large (HUGE!) & heavy, no good carry handles for moving (ok for me but may be a problem for some). It is wider than most cases. >On the black case, fingerprints show up easily >Some PSU's may not have long enough cables (not an issue for me with the Corsair 620HX) >I wish the mobo tray used thumbscrews rather than traditional screws (holds the tray from sliding out). > Pricey (but worth it IMO)
- Other Thoughts: The reason the case is so big is to accommodate the 230mm fans. These fans are very quiet while still moving a good deal of air. You can add more fans internally on the back of the HDD cage and on the bottom vent.
Back in Black
- Pros: 3 x 230mm fans spinning at low speeds still produce a great amount of air flow in this case. Keeping the overall sound to a minimum for a high end PC. The 120mm in the back is quiet as well, but I may switch it out for a Noctua NF-S12-1200 and drop the fan speed to 600rpm.
Solid construction and there's defiantly enough room to run either the Nvidia 280 in SLI or the ATI x2's in Crossfire.
The removable motherboard tray on ball bearings is a nice feature that I looked forward to in purchasing this.
- Cons: It is substantially larger than what I was thinking when I did my measurements... it is only a few inches off from the Zalman GS1000, and doesn't come with the SATA plates in the HD setup like the Zalman, so I'll have to purchase those and mount them myself. Price is steep, but I was willing to pay for it as this was a early Christmas present for myself.
The back and other spots that are too open I covered with Roofing Material (essentially dynomatting in cars) and some thin egg crate to sound proof it as much as possible.
If you can part with some deskspace and a extra $100 it's worth it, if not the Zalman GS1000 would have been my pick in stead.
- Other Thoughts: Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W - Overclocked to 4GHz
CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) - 8-8-8-24
Waiting for the Nvidia gtx295
Corsair 1000hx power supply
Modified Drobo in SATA Backplane mounted in the 5.25 slots with USB and Power running out the Water Cooling Ports. 4x1.5 seagate HD's.

Custom Designer
- Pros: This case is excellent designed with plenty of room. A removable motherboard tray with very silent fans moving lots of air. I did a window mod which really enhanced the case. I installed the EGVA Classified X58 mobo with two GeForce GTX 285 video cards and it made the mobo look very small. There was still 8" of room behind the cards.
The wire management has tons of room to hide the wires. Way more room the the Cosmos S. The best case out there. I replaced all 3 black 230mm fans with Cooler master red LED ones to enhance the case. I also added 4 of the new cooler master R4 red 120mm fans. I wanted tons of air flow with very low noise and it did the job. Inside case temp at 19 deg "C".
- Cons: I have two complaints on this case. The retaining clips for the front bezel covering the fan are plastic and does not hold it very solid. Cooler Master should made them metal or should of hinged it with a magnet clip.
- Other Thoughts: Plenty of room for a large water system. It beats the Cosmos S where you do not have to do any mods at all, not unless you want a window.
Looked nice....
- Pros: Spacious
Removable motherboard tray Good Cable Management Elegant design
- Cons: Tooless installation for 5.25" drive is a joke
The front panel isn't secure enough for touch Noise level is through the roof There might be some humming noises from vibration. Humongous
- Other Thoughts: I initially was very excited to use this case, the removable motherboard tray was great time saver. I have no trouble till I begin to install my DVD drive which was suppose to be simple with the tooless installation but I struggle for a good 20 mintues trying to align and make sure the drive is secure. The front panels aren't secure enough for even the lightest tap. After I went through the hassles of installation, as soon as I booted I noticed a humming noise that fades in and out as well as strong vibration from the case. The Side panel is really really thin, I think if they added some acoustic mats or made it out a steel it would help with the noise and vibration a bit.
As the case weights quite a bit I am pretty much stuck with it and probably wont RMA it considering the cost for shipping.
I would seriously triple check your conscience before commiting on this buy.
Best case ever!
- Pros: I actually bought this case after I got my radeon 5870 graphics card and it wouldnt fit in my last case, it fit easily into this case. this is the closest thing I have ever seen to a perfect case. the slide out motherboard tray is worth the cost of the case alone not to mention the great air flow and huge amounts of space.
- Cons: the side panel are alittle thin.
- Other Thoughts: do you want a large high quality case? buy this one!
