Don't be a sheep. Compare feature for feature.
- Pros: Simply beautiful. This case has just about everything I was looking for. Sinister good looks, totally functional design, relatively compact size and high airflow without the noise. This case delivers on all fronts. I have never attended a LAN party, nor do I plan to, but I love the functionality of the large single handle on this case. It has helped make the build process a breeze.
CM pulled out all the stops when they built this case. Screwless drive bays all around, ample room for my large video card (I can still get cables past the end of my 10.5" GTX 260). TONS of connectivity. I was very concerned with noise and this case's three huge fans blow little more than a whisper. Another rarely mentioned feature is the through hole in the motherboard backplate that allows you to mount massive CPU heatsinks without taking the motherboard out of the case. You might not appreciate that feature if you are not mounting a monster HS/fan, but if you do, you will appreciate it.
- Cons: I would like to have seen individual fan speed controllers like the 902, but that is not a big deal, since tha fans are quiet at full speed. You could reach near silence if you could turn them down, however.
The dust filter on the front fan and the lower HD cage is drowning out the gorgeous LEDs. It would be nice if it were more visible. No big deal though, it gives it a menacingly subtle look.
- Other Thoughts: I flip flopped back and forth with the Scout and the Antec 902 for quite a while. After all, everyone and his brother is gushing over the 902. In the end, the Scout won me over after i realized it has all that and abag of chips. The 902 has nothing over the scout except for sweet fan speed controllers and a bit of extra headroom over the mobo between the top case fan.
The scout more than makes up for those issues and ends up being the best case option for me.
Excellent Case!! Can't go wrong with this one!
- Pros: Cooler Master has done it again! I upgraded from a CM 690 which was also a great case! This case has it all! Plenty of room, good cable management, impressive styling and sturdy design . Front grill comes off fairly easy as compared to other cases. There is built in dust screens for the power supply and front intake 140mm Fan. Accommadates 120mm fans also! Large CPU access hole on the right side for CPU Fans with back plate. No need to install before MB! Nice feature!
- Cons: Being a bit picky here! If you are going to setup RAID for your SSD there is only 1 1.8/2.5 SSD bracket included. Would have been nice to have 2! Also they only included 4 screws for expansion cards. I have yet to have a toolless/screwless expansion card bracket that held the cards in securely, especially the larger Video card like the nVidia GTX 285.
- Other Thoughts: Paid $129.00 for mine! Price has already fallen to $109.99.
My Build: Intel Core i7 940, 6GB Corsair Dominator-GT 1866 Memory EVGA GTX 285, Gigabyte GA X-58 UD4P Thermaltake Toughpower 850w PSU, CoolIt Systems Domino Liquid CPU Cooling

Nice compact chassis
- Pros: Cooler Master makes a great chassis, again. Even though this is lower end, it is fully capable of making a high end gaming system out of it. I loaded in a high end MB, Cooler Master V8 cooler, OC'ed DIMMs, 260 GTX graphics, and a couple extra 120mm fans. Everything is running smooth and quiet (it isn't dead silent, but I value the great cooling). Highly recommended! Nice all-black finish (inside and out) with some Red LED highlights...
- Cons: None
Very good but has a few minor flaws
- Pros: Roomy. Tool-less drive mounting. Quieter than you'd think with those 3 big fans running. Styling not tastelessly overdone. Fit and finish better than what I'd expected for the price.
All in all a good case with a couple of minor flaws that are easily remedied.
- Cons: On my unit, the power lead for the rear 120mm fan didn't extend to the bottom of the case like all of the other fan power and LED power connectors did. I had to remove the right side of the case and fish a power line back there to it.
The second problem was that the tool-less card holders are fragile and easily broken.
My fix was simply to remove them and use some of the included black screws to secure the cards.
- Other Thoughts: The above is really a minor nitpick on an otherwise excellent case, and looking on the bright side I was able to use the zip tie attachment points on the back to secure both the power lead I ran back there and the unused 12v 4 pin motherboard connector from my PSU.
Speaking of power supplies, I had to mount my Seasonic M12II 500 upside down because the EPS 12v line wasn't long enough to reach the connector at the top of the board and still leave a little slack after going around the cards.
This isn't a knock against either the case or the PSU but it is something to take into consideration when deciding whether or not to mount your supply right side up or upside down.
Good Overall Case
- Pros: - Sturdy Handle on the top for easy transport
- Roomy on the inside - On/Off Button for the LED lights - Durable, not cheap feeling, Screwless setup - Expansion slot screwless clips do not need to be removed if you wish to screw in a graphics card - Expansion slot covers are not punch outs, so can be re-inserted if you accidently take out the wrong one or wish to reconfigure your cards - Solid overall feel. Case feels like a rock solid design - Quiet - borderline silent - Ample cooling for most users with ability to add 2x more side fans. - Generous front panel (esata, 4x USB, and audio all in a handsome brushed aluminum setting.
- Cons: Unfortunately the con is worth deducting an egg.
- Not very good cable management. There is a divider running along the backside of the motherboard tray that makes cable management of even the smaller wires tricky. This divider does not seem to have any structural purpose, and if you are not careful you can actually cut into the wires when putting the back panel of the case on again because of this flaw (the divider is a straight edge at the top and rounded edge towards the bottom).
If you are the resourceful type you could always cut/grind down this annoyance.
- Other Thoughts: Overall this is an excellent quality case especially for the size and the price tag. The handle makes moving this thing around with 1 hand a breeze without worring about dropping it. If you dont mind being patient and spending an hour or so just working with the cable routing, this is definately a case for you.
