3 out of 5 eggsGood, but some flaws.

Pros: Spacious, has a lot of room for larger GPUs, good airflow, decent room for cable management, and space for a good number of fans of varying size.

Cons: ONE dust filter that is quite a pain to clean, have to take off both side panels and the top part which has the power button to take off the front panel, and my house is very dusty so the one filter is a near death sentence for my computer.

With a non-modular PSU cable management can be a bit of a hassle.

Other Thoughts: I don't know if it is because it is an older case but with a ASRock Z87 Extreme 3 ATX MOBO installed two of the risers on the right side of the mobo are about an inch out from the board. This had me very nervous when seating the ram and plugging in cables on the right side as I was afraid I might damage the board.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Impressed

Pros: Outstanding case that by far exceeded what I thought I'd get. Sturdy and well thought out in every area. I especially love the server style drive mounting shelves.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have to admit that I was worried about ordering a case online and not being able to put my hands on it before I bought it. If you're looking for a mid sized tower and are stressing like I was, relax and get this unit.

4 out of 5 eggsUSB 2.0 or 3.0

Pros: Appears to be a nice case with good airflow. Still collecting other components for the build.

Cons: I just know the documentation, which lists USB 2.0 front ports, is wrong, or the add for this case, which lists USB 3.0 ports is wrong. Either Newegg needs to correct its page describing this case, or Coolermaster needs to correct the case documentation.

Other Thoughts: Case arrived in good shape. If I can get the front port USB 2.0 or 3.0 issue resolved in favor of the 3.0, then I will be happy (at least temporarily).

4 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: Lots of room. Lots of cooling. Nice location for front access USB and Mic/Headset..
Running AMD 6-core 3.5, ZALMAN CNPS9700 LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler, 16Gig ram, SSD plus 1 750Gig hard mounted, 1 2T in a hot-swap bay, 1 DVD and 1 Blu-ray, Radeon HD 7770, and X-Fi Titanium sound. 72 degrees in room. CPU at 10C as I type this.

Cons: Not a deal breaker, but the power supply mounts on the bottom. My computer sits on a carpeted floor. I removed the button feet and added 4 threaded chair glides ( with nuts, bolts, washers and plastic spacers ) from Lowes to raise it up about an inch..I'm much happier...

Other Thoughts: 20 months after purchase the top fan has a minor rattle after its last air-compressor clean out ( usually twice a year I blow the whole case out and all the fans and fins with air ). New fans ( Cooler Master MegaFlow 200 - Sleeve Bearing 200mm Red LED Silent Fan ) on order to replace the top and a spare incase the front one starts too. I also have a ZALMAN MFC1 Plus-B Black 6 Channel Multi Fan Controller controlling all the fans... set to low speed 90% of the time.

1 out of 5 eggsBig for nothing

Pros: none

Cons: -Dust magnet (whats the point of high air flow if its going to be full of dust after only 3 months)
-too Big and too heavy
-top fan started to rattle after 4 months which was really annoying had to keep adjusting it, so it wouldnt make extra noise.

Other Thoughts: For this price you can get alot better cases. I regret buying this case it really is too big for the stuff i have inside I wish i would have gotten cm scout instead or corsair even the antec 300. Don't be fooled by the reviews like i did if you like a big ugly monster sitting next to you while you game then go ahead and buy it.

Manufacturer Response:

Good Afternoon Dominic,

I apologize your HAF 922 is not working correctly for you as you know this case is designed for those looking for MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE and COOLING EFFICIENCY as a High Air Flow meaning that it will push a lot of air through the case as you can remedy this by adding aftermarket fan filters which can lower the dust and performance of the air circulation. The same goes for the noise as you can lower the fan RPM through a fan controller or bios to minimize the sound output.

You can apply for a Parts Request through our CM Fanzone to replace your top fan at the link below.

Please let me know for further questions.

5 out of 5 eggsAbout as I expected and then some.

Pros: Got it with certain % off + an extra off that newegg knocked off already. Plus the rebate. The price couldn't be sweeter. The case is wide and about as high as I need it to be. The top fan is HUGE and the front fan is pretty big too. the rear one is pretty standard 120mm I think? I've never had a case with fans that big, so not sure how much replacing those would cost if they were to fail, unless Cooler Master actually covers replacing the fans.

The expansion slot screws all come with black covers, which is awesome, as well as twist-able screws. You know like the ones typically found on the rear end of your case for easy opening. I find that extremely helpful and highly convenient. all cases should do that! It should be the new standard!

Cons: For what I paid for it, I shouldn't be complaining, but compared to my other cooler master case that is an older model by several years (the square-ish more simpler sturdier ones) I feel this one is light and was expecting it to be made out of more steel just like my old one, specially for the price range, which was pretty much around the same range as I had paid for my old case, which I sacrificed for the good of helping out a friend with his build and some issues... So I went wit this one because of the price and it's functionality.

The USB 3.0 cable is not separated into 2 different cables, its all in 1 header. I am not sure how one would connect that as i don't own a 990FX chipset motherboard with USB 3.0 headers on the motherboard yet. So that is a bummer, I am stuck with a case with front USB ports which I can't use. Sadly that is sort of an oversight which I wasn't fully aware of.

Other Thoughts: It's lighter than my old trusty case that I had to give to my friend. (The things we do for friends ey?) but when all is said and done I like that it's spacious, lighter and looks nicer than my older case. The only thing I don't like is that it has more plastic on it, because plastic tends to break eventually, don't matter how careful you are, when you least expect it, what can go wrong will go wrong. Oh and I forgot to mention The power button is conveniently on top of the case, which is good for people like me who have the tower on the floor next to them. It has a switch that lets you turn on or off the front fan's LED which is awesome, and lastly, finally a RED LED fan! I am sick and tired of all the blue motherboards, and blue LED's on every single power indicate LED on nearly every device known to man! C'mon industry! A little variety please!

I could write more about this case but, there is plenty of other reviews that cover whatever I didn't so keep on reading some more if you need convincing.

4 out of 5 eggsStrong Contender

Pros: Great Beginner Case to Build in
Great airflow
Spacious and easy to build in
Appealing Exterior
Nice finish
Lots of Optical Bays!
Lots of Hard drive bays!
Extremely Sturdy and Resistant (Lanned with this for 2 years!)

Cons: No Rubber Grommets for Cable Management
Non-Painted interior
Top fan failed after a year of use
Front dust filters are hard to blow out

Other Thoughts: I just recently upgraded out of this case to a Corsair 750D, the HAF 922 has been a great case, I hauled it around weekly to friends houses and it always took it like a champ despite my less than loving handling (I trusted it was a solid case, I wasn't afraid of impacts on the case and corners).

The main reasons I upgraded out of it are no native 2.5" tool-less support, un-painted interior (Clashes with black theme), no rubber grommets for cable management, and I have been missing a top fan for about 2 years as it failed a year into its life, which isn't horrible, just alittle disappointing.

I would buy this case again, however at this point in time this case is abit dated for its price, i'd recommend a Corsair unit over the Cooler Master.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth

Pros: THOSE FANS ARE HUGE! They keep the system cool and are massive. When the computer is off and the fans aren't spinning, they are almost windows into the computer. The 3.5' and 5.25' slots are amazingly simple and durable, the mobo stands are sturdy, and the front USB 3.0 ports are amazing. Provided zip ties and overhangs provide great ability to manage cords as well Great mid sized tower

Cons: Its a mid size tower. In hindsight I wish i got the HAF 932 just becasue I like the full tower. You need to have decent cord management to utilize this tower well because of the more limited space. Thats my only complaint, but it has nothing to do with the product in and of itself, just my decision when purchasing

Other Thoughts: Phenomenal. If you are going for 2 GPU or plan on installing one later, I would recommend the HAF932, which I consider it's larger counterpart, but if you have more limited space to keep your desktop, then this is the case for you.
