5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Really good case, especially for the price. Lots of room for the components. The locking mechanisms that replace screws for mounting the 5.25" and 3.5" drives is really solid and secure. The non-motherboard side has a window to look through to see if anything is wrong with the computer from the outside. Great airflow efficiency.

Cons: Non that I can think about. The only con I can think about is that the Power and Reset buttons are silver and engraved with their respective symbols, which is the only way to tell them apart outside of knowing that the top button is the Power button and the bottom button is the Reset button. This can be confusing the first few times, but you'll get used to it.

Other Thoughts: There are two things I would like to mention that could be either pros or cons, depending on your tastes. The first is the front fan that comes installed in the case is lit with a blue LED. Aesthetically it looks good, but I know this might put some people off. The other is the shape of the case is rather generic.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far So good :)

Pros: sturdy, plastic isn't to flimsy, nice little blue led, arrived fast

Cons: could use a few longer case connectors

Other Thoughts: overall it seems like a nice case.
I bought it for build that I made for my friends birthday.

I had originally bought a LOGISYS Computer CS308RD Red, it was very bad, felt cheap, had a broken clear side cover, and the wiring to the power wasn't even in properly.
when I received this case I was much more happy with it.

1 out of 5 eggsLooks nice, flimsy chassis

Pros: This case generally has a nice appearance. Lots of air flow potential with mounts for quite a few big fans. Low cost.

Cons: The metal used for the chassis is complete garbage. On top of that, the punch-outs for mobo cards are permanent. But not only that...they have tabs so that you have to remove the mobo completely in order to remove any individual one. Even one wrong twist and the supports between slots bend. When I went in to remove the mobo so I could punch these out, I found out that the spacer screws for the mobo had actually stripped the cheap, soft metal threading. So now I can't even use the case.

Other Thoughts: I'm going to be returning this ASAP. Never purchasing Cooler Master again and making sure my system builder friends don't either. This was supposed to be a build for my mother's birthday, and she was really excited about it. I had ordered all the parts and shipped them to her so I could put it together at the house. 3 hour drive for this piece of junk to postpone the process, and now I get to risk getting denied on the rebates for all of the other parts or risk sending off the rebates and ending with equipment that was originally DOA. Since I purchased the parts piece-by-piece over a period of time, many of the rebate offers need to be mailed off sooner than I'm likely to find a replacement.

1 out of 5 eggs3 hours later .. defective power button!

Pros: cheap $30 case
case is shiny
they give you screws

Cons: power button does not work .. renders the case worthless!
I could not install 2 fans on top as the CPU - Heatsink was in the way, another reason I bought this case (worthless)

Other Thoughts: 1.5 hours to tear apart my old computer ..
1.5 hours to put it all back together in this case ..
Only to find out the power button does not work on this case ?!?!
2 hours later I have back together in my old case (works fine)
I give up .. this thing is junk .. going back (or into the trash)

Manufacturer Response:

Good Morning Thomas,

I apologize you're having issues with your Power Button as I can send you a replacement through our CM Fanzone Parts Request at the link below. The Elite 430 is capable of CPU Heat-sinks as tall as 163 mm | 6.4 inches, now depending on the type and orientation of the heat-sink, will determine if you can mount two 120 mm fans on the top of the case.

I look forward to your response.

Regards,
Felinni M.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent for a budget case

Pros: This is a decent case for a budget build. I was pleseantly surprised that it came with enough MB standoff's. Superb airflow, which is why I use Cooler Maseter cases. The inside has nice rolled edges so you don't cut yourself. Their tool-less drive bays are better than the last time I used one of their cases for a build abuot 4 yrs ago.

Cons: Like most I will have to say the case is a little flimsy/weak. However when you install additional case fans, it helps firm up the case. I also do not like the expansion slots. This is why I dropped the rating by 1 egg.

4 out of 5 eggsCool case

Pros: - Looks cool
- Good cooling *similar to Rosewill Challenger*
- Nice big window

Cons: - No back plate for cable management. (makes cable managing fairly difficult.
- The plates that you have to remove for your video card are cheap, and caused me to almost bend/break the backside of the case.

Other Thoughts: Make sure to remove the pci express covers for your DVI/HDMI hookup before installing your motherboard. If you don't you will wind up in a sticky situation similar to me.

- You will need to buy 4 120MM case fans to get this thing where it needs to be!

4 out of 5 eggsIts been around for a while

Pros: 1. This case is inexpensive
2. Compact and well-built- I've had mine for over 4 years now and despite the fact I'm very very tired of looking at it, it can't be beat for a nice case with a clear plexi side to it.
3. Used it with 2 mobos and processors so far, my cat jumps on top of it and still is in good shape.

Cons: Again like others said:
1. Top fan spots are useless for radiator + fans, use a regular fan.
2. Bottom fan area is useless, too tight of a fit for a fan-leave it blank.
3. USB ports on front is angles up, for me its annoying so I didn't connect them, I put in a card reader on the 3.5 port.
4. Side plexi wall port for a small fan is useless-it will hit mobo, leave it blank.

Other Thoughts: There are more expensive boxes and larger ones but this one does what gamers and do-it-your-selfers want.

4 out of 5 eggsNice little case

Pros: This case looks nice, has lots of air flow and all the room most people need.

Cons: The two top 120mm fan mounts in the top are useless for water cooling, in fact if you have big VRM heat sinks only one is good for a fan. These should have been offset closer to the side cover away from the MOBO not centered.

The bottom 120 is too close to the PSU for a 130 mm fan to fit, Should have been place a bit more forward.

Other Thoughts: Some say no cable management, not totally true, I have set up two systems with this case model. I stash cable behind the 3.5 drive bays, the 8 pin CPU power I route back across the PSU and up the back of the MOBO, front panel, PCIE etc all run straight forward to behind 3.5 drive bays then down or up and straight to where the go/come.

I built one with a Noctua NH-D14 and the cooler does not touch the side panel.

The side panel fan (I had to add it) is below the GPU, this is good, leaves room for things like the D14 and brings in air for the GPU.

For the money it is an awesome case.
