5 out of 5 eggsAmazing starting case

Pros: Just amazing when it comes to buget and overall compatibility... as a first build this case stood out unlike the rest ... looks amazing and will show off your first build quite well ... simple and sturdy ... this case will not fail to impress for its price ... i was quite proud of a case like this sitting by my desk

Cons: cons? i mean yea the only thing i could think of is cable management and no ssd bay ... the price for this case you cant even complain about this ... as a first time it will definitely teach you the struggle of wiring and zip tieing everything behind the drive bays ... but an ssd bay is an ez fix ... ssd tray and boom there you go

2 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely Horrible...

Pros: Looks Cool,
Lots of room
Great Price

Cons: EXTREMELY hard to remove the back metal covers to install external cards.
Nowhere to put an SSD it seems unless you have an adapter

Other Thoughts: So, I bought this case from a review online, saying it was a really good investment for the price.

I was ecstatic. My first PC Build ever. Luckily my best friend is a software engineer, so I had him as a reference, and also numerous instructional videos online.

I get off work yesterday, all my parts had arrived. I assemble the motherboard, and all of the components. Everything is absolutely incredible.

I get to the point where I need to install my SSD. Little did I know, the slots that are included in the tower are way too big to house my SSD. They are for optical drives and bigger HDDs I am assuming. 3.5" and 5". Not really worrying too much about that, but it is lying somewhere insecure within the tower, which is kind of unsettling.

Here is the worst part though. I get to the point where I need to install my GPU. You are supposed to be able to just pop out the metal covers with a small tap right? Well, think again.. I tried tapping it, to no avail. I was then forced to use some pliers, which seemed to do well, until it start ripping a part of the metal that was not perforated. This took an immense amount of strength as well, and I am not a weak man. I know somebody either did their job WAY too well, or they are playing a prank, but it was a nasty prank. A job that should have took 1 minute turned into 2 hours trying to wrench this stuff off. Also, I know you are just supposed to punch them out, because the covers on the bottom slots were already coming out while I worked on the top ones(Where it was necessary to put my GPU). Go figure.

All in all, I do NOT recommend this case, unless you have an instrument that can cut through metal precisely. Either that, or I got a bad case. I will never know.

Manufacturer Response:

Good Afternoon Tyler,

I apologize you're having a challenge working with your Elite 430 as this chassis definitely has a lot of value for its price point as you shouldn't have had to do to many things to work for you. We do offer a SSSD bracket that can work with the existing 5.25" drive bays through our CM Store or even similar items on New Egg at the link below.

Please let me know for further questions or concerns through our CM Fanzone.

Regards,
Felinni M.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case for the price

Pros: Great price.
Plenty of cooling and build options.
Comes with all screws needed to build your own.
Tool included for motherboard stand offs.
Comes with zip ties.

Cons: Only way to make this case a better deal than it already is, include pci slot covers.
But I will not knock it any eggs because at its price its hard to beat.

Other Thoughts: I have read other reviews about the lack of cable management with this case.
I did not find cable management to be a problem.
I used a modular power supply and only used the cables that were needed.
I ran what I could to the hidden side of the drive bays and my build turned out pretty well.

4 out of 5 eggsIt does what it needs to...

Pros: ...and it's a very good price for what you get.
It's very roomy, and it's nice to have a window on the side. Always a plus.

Cons: However, it's very obvious what makes this case the price it is. The plastic/plexiglass on the side is very brittle for some reason? Swapping between two fans every year (for winter and summer) has left the screw holes with small fissure cracks coming out of them.

In addition, after general use and cleaning, the screw holes have become almost completely stripped and are now used just to keep the case from falling off. Also, one of the usb ports in the front has sunken in completely, rendering it useless.

Other Thoughts: All in all, it's a case for the price. It's surprisingly roomy inside, unlike some cases of its size, while maintaining structural support. I think if you're building a computer on a budget that you would enjoy this.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes it's job

Pros: Would have been perfect for a water cooler setup. Went into a low buget APU setup with a stock fan.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Cheap on sale with a rebate. Blinky blue lights... Really...Who cares...

5 out of 5 eggsgreat price good case

Pros: great price
a lot of room
Tool less drive bays
great air flow
sturdier case than expected
bottom power supply location

Cons: cable management
front fan power cable was too short

Other Thoughts: Is this the most sturdy case i've owned.??
Hardly but it is far from being flimsy ...
Great air flow and plenty of locations to put fans in if you need/want to.
The mother board tray did take some finesse with putting in the screws but a patient person will do just fine.

As far as cable management goes...
i am running a modular power supply so it's a non issue but with a few zip ties and some creative thought it is hardly worth lowering it an egg....

I am running a mico atx mother board and the front fan power cord was just about 3 cm too short to reach the fan header....nothing a extender couldn't take care of. but I could have ran another connector to my power supply..

I factor in the great price vs what you get and i feel cool master delivered a great product.
I would buy this product again!
