COOLER MASTER Elite 335 Upgraded RC-335U-KKN1 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Its a cheap case aimed at budget builds, and that's mostly what you get.

Cons: There are a few things that Cooler Master does TOO cheaply. My number one complaint is the PCI slots. The PCI slots are stamped metal, meaning you have to punch out/rip off the metal brackets that shield the slots. I actually ended up bending the cheap metal backing of the case, since it took such force to remove the PCI slot protectors. - 1 egg.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a good quality case, keep looking. I bought this case to throw some parts in and set it in the closet, and that's what I got.

I would suggest looking into the HAF 912. Its only 15 dollars more, and well worth it.

Pros: OK, it's a case.

Cons: Only comes with one rear mounted fan.

Other Thoughts: If you're going to put the words "Cooler Master" on the front of a case, then the case ought to cool the components. Here's the description of this item: "All your components will stay cool in the Elite 335 Upgraded, with its 120mm rear fan, one optional front fan, one optional bottom fan and three optional side fans. "

I can tell you from experience that those "optional" fans don't do much to cool the unit if you don't install any of them. My system displayed signs of overheating until I added more fans.

There are plenty of places to install the "optional" fans, and you'll want to install the one in front at a minimum. One can legitimately ask why the maker, whose name, I repeat, is "Cooler Master", doesn't do that for you, since it is absolutely necessary. It's not very "cool".

Pros: This case is cheap, looks fine, and good access to USB and audio ports in front.

Cons: Cool Master really cheaped-out on the blank tabs that are taken out when adding a PCI device. The tabs and the case are one piece of super thin steel, so trying to remove a tab bent up the case. This also means that the tab will be irreplaceable. Bottom line, if you are going to be changing PCI devices out often, do not buy this case.

Pros: This, along with several other coolermaster cases I've built inside of over the last year or two, are some of the nicest cases I've worked inside of. I remember when a build would take several hours to put together, but with the assembly systems in these cases, it comes together lightning fast. Case is sturdy, lightweight, has plenty of room, and I like the mesh-and foam paneling.

Cons: This is hardly specific to just this case, but endemic to so many cases with modular hardware mounting systems. I can screwlessly mount harddrives really fast, but I only get 4 brackets. There's bays for more harddrives than that, but I dont get brackets to mount more. I would pay for extras, if I could.

Only other con is that it was kinda tough to work a 120mm fan into the front of the case for cooling. Felt like I was going to bend the front grille out of shape.

Pros: Decent case all around, no glaring faults except...

Cons: The foam dust filters on the front panel. There are half a dozen thin pieces of foam held to the front panel with little metal tabs. When you get dust between the foam and the front panel, you have to unbend all the fiddly little tabs, clean each little piece of foam, put them back and bend the tabs back.

Pros: Excellent Build Quality, Very sturdy
Side panels are very easy to take off and on.
motherboard back plate gives you positions on where to place your standoffs, for m-Atx, and ATX motherboards
Huge amount of room, best case that I have bought yet

Cons: What ever I said on my last review, has changed.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend for anyone wanting to build a gaming rig or a simple pc to get this case. I for one will be using this case exclusively on any and all my builds.

Pros: Good case for a cheap price. Built about 12 systems recently. We uses 8 of these cases and tested a few others just to see. All were about this price range and this case was the best of the bunch. Decent build quality, decent organization of hardware. Comes with tool less clips for the CD/DVD, Hard drive and even 2 slots for 2.5" sized products.

Cons: Tool-less clips aren't that great, just adequate enough to hold the drive or device in place. The hard drive clips are much harder to work with as they are on both sides of the slot. You can remove them easily, but you may need to remove both sides of the case to easily seat the inner clip.

Other Thoughts: Good case for a good price with some features that usually only come with more expensive cases.

Pros: Tool-free design drive bays.
Tool-free design rear card slots that don't break or slip when plugging in video connections.
Plenty of air flow with built in dust filters on front mesh.
Mid mounted front panel IO keeps clear of desk clutter.

Cons: Front IO missing Firewire although punch-out and pcb mounting location exists for one.
3.5 bays face front to back instead of sideways causing some installation and removal interference with motherboard SATA connections and video card.
Tool-free bay design requires opening both sides of the case to use twist lock hardware when installing / uninstalling 3.5 or 5.25 hardware.
Side vent air intake for processor did not line up with processor by about 30% but that may be the motherboard design.

Other Thoughts: Bought this off my son after he abandoned building his own PC due to acquiring a laptop for college. Have used Cooler Master before but not thrilled with this one mostly for the drive bay orientation and two sided tool-free design requiring both side panels open to use.

Pros: Nice style, power-supply at the bottom and plenty of places to mount additional fans

Cons: Included 120mm fan was DOA, tried on both motherboard connector and straight connection to power-supply. Sheet metal directly under where motherboard is mounted was gouged and scratched, almost making this unit look like a return or refurb. Glossy plastic front panel area is easy to scratch.

Other Thoughts: I ordered two of these cases and didn't have any trouble with the second (though the front panel area is still very easy to scratch).

Pros: Looks nice, lightweight

Cons: Power button was DOA, making this completely worthless. I thought it was my mobo and RMA'd it, turned out the power button just didn't work.

Other Thoughts: It could be an exception, but this completely ruins the reputation of Cooler Master for me. I won't be purchasing any of their products again
