The new Elite 431 Plus builds upon Cooler Master expertise and delivers high-end features in the affordable market space. Cooler Master believes that just because something is affordable, it doesn’t have to lack features or be a “budget” product.

The Elite 431 Plus features a classic black Cooler Master design with clean, yet attractive lines. It has been built to last and uses high quality materials, unlike many “budget” products that tend to use cheaper materials that don’t last. It’s also been designed to keep the components inside the case cool and not only does it have space for plenty of additional cooling fans, but it can also be fitted with large CPU coolers, such as the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus.

  • newegg Excellent Cooling The COOLER MASTER Elite 431 Plus comes with one front 120mm blue LED fan, front ventilation design and four extra fan mounts for efficient ventilation and effective system cooling.
  • newegg External SATA X-Dock The external SATA X-Dock allows hot-swap data access to your 3.5" SATA HDD, eliminating the hassle of opening case and groping for the cables.
  • newegg Transparent Side Window The transparent side window provides a direct look of inner system. The blue LED fan gives out mystic light for an eye-catching fun.
  • newegg Easy Installation The tool-less design for 5.25" and 3.5" drive bay enables easy installation and upgrade. It also supports ultra-long VGA card within 400mm, making it an ideal dwelling for high-end card.
  • newegg Bottom Placed PSU The bottom mounted PSU design allows for independent and optimized cooling.
  • newegg Convenient I/O Panel One USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports and one mic jack & headphone jack allow easy access to a variety of peripherals.

3 out of 5 eggsNot good, but definitely not bad

Pros: Pros --

1) Cheap
2) Lots of space
3) Not a bad looking case
4) Plenty of fan mounts

Cons: Cons --

1) Cheap
2) Back panels are not ones you can put back in (beware)
3) Poor cable management
4) Comes with only one fan -- with a very short power cable, so you will likely not be able to connect it to your motherboard from the front

Other Thoughts: Overall I'm pleased with this case. For the price it's hard to complain about.

4 out of 5 eggsNice case for the money

Pros: Used this to build my last rig. It is solidly built and I like the medium size and form factor of it. There is no cable management so making it look clean is tough but possible with some work. The 120mm fan on the floor of the case isn't mountable once a power supply is installed so that is frustrating. I has to use a 90mm fan to cool my GPU cards. I get compliments on the case often and I would consider it again or recommend it to others.

Cons: Cable management, bottom fan mounting

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Case

Pros: Lightweight, Easily removable front panel, bottom-mounting power supply location, screwless 5.25 bays, several blank fan locations, front-loading 3.5" SATA port, front-facing USB's (2x2.0, 1x3.0), easy to run wires behind right panel, easily accessible power/reset buttons

Cons: My only complaint is the power of the LEDs... I leave my system on 24/7 and the blue LEDs penetrate the night! See below...

ULTRA-BRIGHT blue HD activity indicator:
You could use this light to project 35mm slides on the wall! I pulled off front panel and taped a 1/2" square of white paper over the LED to dampen the flash. It's perfect - You can see the indicator just fine, but now its dimmed and has an "indirect lighting" effect as opposed to the "flashlight beam" it was before.

Bright Front-facing Blue LED fan:
Also bright - The 4 points where the LEDs are attached inside the clear fan have a prism-effect and project light from the case like little floodlights. I did 2 things. First, I used white-out on the clear plastic just in front of the LEDs that was acting like a prism. That stopped the beams from projecting out of the case, but didn't effect the fans illumination. (No, you can not see the white out!)
Second, I tacked a second piece of mesh to the inside of the front panel. That helped dim the rest of the light and seems to have done the trick without hindering the fans operation.

Other Thoughts: This case is great! Easy access, super lightweight but durable, lots of blank fan locations, 2 liquid cooling ports on the back, stylish shaped window, front SATA port... I know I carried on about the LED's, but it is a minor point. For many, it won't be a big deal at all.

Other notes:
Just an FYI - the 3.5" SATA port in the front of the case isn't hot-swappable. Pop a drive in there and after a quick reboot, the drive appears.

The case comes with a single blue LED case fan (in the front.

5 out of 5 eggsgood

Pros: Nice looking case that has two external 3.5" bays that I use and one USB 3.0 port on the front. Really good price with the rebate. Lots of fan ports.

Cons: The Elite 430 case comes with a fan port on the left panel. This one doesn't. The hard drive dock is not SSD friendly. I knew this when I bought the case; so, no eggs deducted.

Other Thoughts: A second USB 3.0 port would be nice. This is the second Elite 431 case that I bought.

4 out of 5 eggsFairly good

Pros: Cheap
Lots of expansion
Big enough to have room to work

Cons: If you are using SSD please read:
You need to buy a 3.5" to 2.5" adaptor for your SSD to fit! There are no 2.5" drives. I was new to building and didn't realize this. I have since figured it out, but just be aware.

Less bays than expected. And two external 3.5" drive bays. I have no idea what these are for. The case recommends I use them for floppy drives. I don't have that many floppies and I don't know what else to used them for.

Other Thoughts: Good case. I like it. I hope it lasts. Just a couple of quirks that make you think, 'Why that?'

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case for a budget builder

Pros: There is room for cable management, the fans LED's are nice and bright, and the buttons on the front of the case also light up in their center.

Cons: The side panels are slightly flimsy in the middle but not bad enough to remove a star.

Other Thoughts: Joy dressed in black with black LED buttons.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: looks really cool, lots of airflow, window shows off your build, locks eliminate the need for screws for the drive bays which is neat. it does have foam and dust screens to minimize dust.

Cons: poor cable management, really tight fit for upper fans if you have a mobo with bigger heat sink, cables for I/O panel are kinda short, external SATA dock is nice, but doesn't work all the time

Other Thoughts: this is a con for me, but may not be for others. My PSU is long, long enough that it covers the holes for the 120mm fan mounting holes on the bottom. I had to use my old 80mm fan, the 90mm mounting holes are not covered, so you may be able to fit that one in there. I'm kind of disappointing with the cable management and was aware about when I was buying, but I didn't think it would be as bad as it is. All in all its a cool looking case with great airflow and very poor cable management.

4 out of 5 eggsSpacious Case

Pros: Fits ATX mobo perfectly. Optical drives are easy to install. Fits 1 rear 120mm fan and/or two top 120mm fans. could support large radiator 120mm x 240mm

Cons: hard drives are annoying to install. Not difficult just not easy to reach.

Other Thoughts: blue lights look cool. Front USB/Audio ports work well.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Power Switch Wire Job!!!!

Pros: Right Case Size.

Cons: Power switch is poorly assembled at the wiring connection to the power button. Contacted Cooler Master, 3 weeks later, new panel arrived, system was build and only functional with a tester on/off switch. New replacement switch, SAME DANG THING!!!! DON'T BUY THIS CASE!!!!!

Other Thoughts: I have purchased over $100,000 in parts at newegg in the last 12 years, this is the ONLY GARBAGE buy, not bad, but a power switch, really Cooler Master!

Manufacturer Response:

Good Morning Valued Customer,

I apologize your power switch is not working correctly as we can replace it through our CM Fanzone Parts Request along with your purchase invoice and serial number at the link below.

I look forward to your response.
