The new Elite 431 Plus builds upon Cooler Master expertise and delivers high-end features in the affordable market space. Cooler Master believes that just because something is affordable, it doesn’t have to lack features or be a “budget” product.

The Elite 431 Plus features a classic black Cooler Master design with clean, yet attractive lines. It has been built to last and uses high quality materials, unlike many “budget” products that tend to use cheaper materials that don’t last. It’s also been designed to keep the components inside the case cool and not only does it have space for plenty of additional cooling fans, but it can also be fitted with large CPU coolers, such as the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus.

  • newegg Excellent Cooling The COOLER MASTER Elite 431 Plus comes with one front 120mm blue LED fan, front ventilation design and four extra fan mounts for efficient ventilation and effective system cooling.
  • newegg External SATA X-Dock The external SATA X-Dock allows hot-swap data access to your 3.5" SATA HDD, eliminating the hassle of opening case and groping for the cables.
  • newegg Transparent Side Window The transparent side window provides a direct look of inner system. The blue LED fan gives out mystic light for an eye-catching fun.
  • newegg Easy Installation The tool-less design for 5.25" and 3.5" drive bay enables easy installation and upgrade. It also supports ultra-long VGA card within 400mm, making it an ideal dwelling for high-end card.

5 out of 5 eggsBest case for the money

Pros: This is the best case I've ever purchased. Easy to get in and access all the parts, nice turned down edges so you don't cut yourself, and excellent parts/screws kit.

The drive bay on the front is a great addition. I use mine to dual boot Linux. Need to boot Linux, just pop the drive in the front, when I'm done I remove it.

Two front USB 2.0 ports, and one USB 3.0 port are a bonus. Audio on the front is nice for headphones also.

10 out of 10, would buy this again.

Cons: No "behind the motherboard cable routing", so if you want a really clean case you might want something else. Not really something I care about though.

The top two case fans can cover the top 1cm of your motherboard, which can make it hard to get at those top screws sometimes.

3 out of 5 eggsA beautiful case with aggravating faults

Pros: - Beautiful design that's received a lot of compliments. Clean edges, shiny blue LEDs and great 120mm fan included.

- Great airflow to keep everything nice and cool.

- I love the 3.5" front-loading SATA bay and USB 3.0.

Cons: - Flimsy construction. This is marketed as an entry-level case and it definitely shows. One of the major annoyances I encountered was the fact that you can't replace slot covers after you pop them out. So if you're like me and accidentally open a wrong slot in the back, expect to have a ton of dust come in through the perma-open hole and party with your graphics card. The front panel is amazingly flimsy. Every time I plug in my headphones or a USB drive, the panel warps until it feels like my hand will punch through it and end up somewhere in the vicinity of my heatsink.

- Noisy. Granted, my build has four 120mm case fans, two fans on my ACX cooler, and a Hyper 212 plus with fan. Still, I've had setups with similar designs that were much quieter than this. I suppose a lot of this has to do with the fact that it has excellent cooling, but it also has a tendency to rattle which is more than annoying. If you do a lot of work with headphones on you probably won't notice it as much, but otherwise be prepared to bring earplugs.

- Cable management, or rather the lack thereof. For a case with a windowed side, I'm amazed at how little space you have to route cables and make the inside look nice. The case doesn't have any cable passthroughs and there's about half a nanometer between the back of the motherboard and the right side of the case. If you have a non-modular PSU, prepare yourself for one of the greatest challenges of your life. It can be done, but be prepared to spend a couple hours and use your imagination. It would probably also help to have a bottle of your favorite liquor by your side and no less than a doctorate in engineering. Be prepared to slice your hands on those sharp metal edges.

Other Thoughts: If I had to pick a case again, I would spend a little extra money and get one with better build quality and cable management. This case would work great for someone without a need for a lot of fans and components or who's on a tight budget. I'm using it as a gaming PC and I really don't recommend it for that purpose. When I'm ready to upgrade a new case will be one of the first things on the list. It still looks really nice though.

2 out of 5 eggsNo cable management

Pros: side window, usb 3.0, hdd dock, cheap

Cons: no cable management option, too tall for a mid tower.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Gucci32sam,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience regarding the purchase of this case. In regards to the height of the case, this is actually one of the smalles cases available for the mid tower spec, any longer would classify it as a mini tower. If you need a mini tower, we recommend that you have a look at the N200 as it is 2 inches shorter in height. If the height is manageable, but you still require more options in regards to cable management, we recommend that you have a look at the Haf 912 as it provides more options in that area. If you have further questions, please let us know.
