The new Elite 431 Plus builds upon Cooler Master expertise and delivers high-end features in the affordable market space. Cooler Master believes that just because something is affordable, it doesn’t have to lack features or be a “budget” product.

The Elite 431 Plus features a classic black Cooler Master design with clean, yet attractive lines. It has been built to last and uses high quality materials, unlike many “budget” products that tend to use cheaper materials that don’t last. • newegg Excellent Cooling The COOLER MASTER Elite 431 Plus comes with one front 120mm blue LED fan, front ventilation design and four extra fan mounts for efficient ventilation and effective system cooling.
  • newegg External SATA X-Dock The external SATA X-Dock allows hot-swap data access to your 3.5" SATA HDD, eliminating the hassle of opening case and groping for the cables.
  • newegg Transparent Side Window The transparent side window provides a direct look of inner system. The blue LED fan gives out mystic light for an eye-catching fun.
  • newegg Easy Installation The tool-less design for 5.25" and 3.5" drive bay enables easy installation and upgrade. It also supports ultra-long VGA card within 400mm, making it an ideal dwelling for high-end card.

3 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Shiny.

Some fans are included, and they're decent quality. This signifigantly increases the value of this case. One of them is shiny blue, if you're into the sparkly thing.

A big window is included, if you're into the whole "looking inside your case to watch the PC gnomes doing their thing" thing.

Lots of mounting spots for maximum fannage. You can fit 4 comfortably using a Micro ATX board. (bottom fan near PSU can be a little tight).

I got this case while it was on some ridonkulous sale in 10/2013. If you want it to be yours on the cheap, I am pretty sure they'll discount this again.

Cons: One word -- flimsy. You have been warned.

I would be willing to bet that if a gnat farted near this case, it'd probably dent it.

Take off the side panel, and this case twists like a leaf on the wind. And not in that cool "Serenity"-type twisting, I mean like, "I tightened a standoff and felt the case torquing under the pressure"-type twisting. Seriously, this is the flimsiest case I have ever worked with. Most OEM cases are far sturdier than this, and even the cheapest budget crapbox OEMs are moderately less flexy than this one.

The side panel was a bit out of true, and didn't want to lay flat. Unfortunately, the material is a little more sturdy than the rest of the case. I couldn't get it to cooperate, except by re-bending the case to fit the stubborn panel. (LOL?)

The cable management in this case, quite frankly, is non-existant. Seriously? If you're gonna put a giant window on the case....

Also, don't gloss finish the front panel, where the greasy fingers go to smoosh buttons and plug in their latest iDonkey.

Other Thoughts: Personal note: I love Cooler Master's other cases. The HAF 912 is easily my favorite $50-$80 case. I kept my main gaming rig in one for several years. I recommend that case to almost anyone. And I really like the other HAF cases as well. I've built in a HAF 932, and an Elite 311. I keep coming back to CM for cases when it's feasible.

This case is the opposite of why I usually love CM's cases. It's a poorly-designed product that doesn't know what it wants to be. I mean, it's got a big plexi window, and nowhere to hide cables. It's a jungle in there! If I installed a big video card in here, I wouldn't have been able to get the front panel connectors plugged in. Why not take the window off and spend that cost on better structural integrity or mobo backplate?

Another personal note: I used this for a server case, intended to stay on 24/7. (Removed the sparkly fan, though.)

I would not recommend putting a gaming rig in here. It'll make you want to punch babies. That is all.

3 out of 5 eggsLooks okay, but has a few problems

Pros: Looks nice, fairly lightweight. Lots of space.

Cons: Although easy to take apart, I think the side panels were slightly bent, so I had to use an actual screwdriver on the panel thumbscrews to get into the case. Not a huge deal.

Most importantly, this case does not have an SSD slot (I know, I should have looked it up first), and it does not seem to play nice with 3.5'' adapters. I figured I could use my existing adapter to put in my SSD, but the screw holes in the adapter don't work with the toolless installation system.

The 5.25'' metal covers snap out, but it looks like there are screw holes to put them back on if you need to.

The dust filters are very poor, just small pieces of mesh that look like they were just cut straight from a large roll of it. I would prefer a case which has filters which have edges/snap into place, and which don't bend out of shape as soon as you look at them funny.

Other Thoughts: I'm sure its a nice case, but the lack of SSD support is a dealbreaker for me.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Case

Pros: I liked the look of the case. It came with a single blue LED front fan which is a plus for me. Also i like the clear windowed side panel to look at things in the case. Adds a nice touch to the case. I am familiar with the cooler master products and have one myself and i really like the build quality.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsDecent - for price

Pros: This case is fairly cheap and decently sized, like the window and all the areas for fans and vents.

Cons: Cable Management is all I am going to say. Its a nightmare in this case, also I wish the front IO cables had sleeves or better options for sleeves. The stock fan that came with the case is meh also but hey its nice to have I guess

Other Thoughts: I gave this 4 out of 5 because honestly yea the Cons are bad, but the case overall is decent if you are on a budget. Also I got this case for 25$ near Black friday so cant complain really. You get what you pay for usually.

3 out of 5 eggsWas cool at first... Now "Meh"

Pros: Price, internal 3.5 bays, hot swap SATA Bay, USB 3.0.

I bought this case after hours of looking through reviews on several different cases for my new Vishera build PC. I was happy with it at first, and for several months after I bought it. My GTX 560ti graphics card fit nicely with some room to spare. I then went to put all my hard drives into the case, of which I knew I'd be maxing it out due to a SATA raid array and an SSD raid array. No problem... until I tried to manage the cabling better. There are no grommets anywhere inside the case, simply because there is no built-in cable management system. You manage the cables in this case by zip tying everything together and trying to stuff them in spaces where they are just less visible. There is no "behind the scenes" panel one might expect on a newer case.

Then, I upgraded my graphics card, not even thinking about measuring... I went for the most money for the almighty buck and bought a GTX 760 4GB card... well... I had to take out a hard drive out and lay it on the bottom of the case to accommodate the graphics card. Even if I had 90 degree right angle SATA power and data cables, the video card still wouldn't fit anywhere with a hard drive left in its proper bay. An extra half in to 1 full inch width would have done the trick.

I was reeled in by the price, USB 3.0, colored LED fans, and the external hot-swap SATA bay. Once I got everything in there and wanted to upgrade my video card, I was hosed.

Oh... Don't even try to put a half way decent water cooling system in the case... There just isn't enough room. Period. Great case for the money; bad case as a main gamer PC.

Cons: Small... Very small. Can't fit some newer video cards - the case isn't deep enough with all hard drives installed; good luck installing any decent water cooling inside the case.

Do Not plan on using this as your main gamer PC case... It's just too small.

Other Thoughts: I'll use this case for my bench PC... Should have spent more money to begin with and got a full tower... especially when I knew I was going to use it for a gaming PC.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid case

Pros: The case is nice to look at, good for beginners, and offers plenty of hard drive slots that are easy to access. Also, the fan runs relatively quite and you can attach more quickly.

Cons: The cheap plastic window had decorative plastic rivets that snap off easily. In addition, don't expect to have great cable management.

Other Thoughts: Been using it as a mid-range gaming computer. Can't really complain other than the minor cosmetics. Trying to get a decent cable managment is the worst thing to force onto this case though.
