This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus - Mid Tower Computer Case with Windowed Side Panel and USB 3.0

Pros: price was decent
looks good

Cons: no cable management and very few spots to try and tuck some of the wires behind stuff to hide it

Other Thoughts: would recommend for someone who doesnt mind a cluttered wiring setup

2 out of 5 eggsDon't buy this case

This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus - Mid Tower Computer Case with Windowed Side Panel and USB 3.0

Pros: Cheap, attractive, has good airflow

Cons: No room for cable management, hard drive was incredibly hard to install, GTX 950 won't line up with expansion slot screw holes

Other Thoughts: Being a first time builder, I wasn't expecting to have great cable management or the easiest time putting my new computer together.

It took hours. I have the extra cables tucked up into the optical drive slot. My EVGA GTX 950 lines up just fine with the poorly made expansion slots, but is half an inch above Where you're supposed to screw it into the case. When I went to put the HDMI cable in, it pushed the card out of its slot. I don't know any way around this. The 3.5 inch drive slots were actually pretty handy, being tool-less and all, but the instructions were unclear and I had to consult YouTube to find out where you even put the darn thing. After putting it all together, it looks good. I power it on, and it doesn't boot. I check all the connections, make sure everything is plugged into where it's supposed to be, and try again. Still nothing. I had to take everything out and it ended up being a standoff that was taller than the rest of them.

Other than those things, it's a good looking case with lots of airflow. The side window looks really nice. But I would not buy this case again.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case!

This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus - Mid Tower Computer Case with Windowed Side Panel and USB 3.0

Pros: Comes with blue lit fan, lots of fan mounting options, see through side.

Cons: back of motherboard access to cpu mount could be bigger, but I think that's more of Coolmaster evo cooler and its cheap uni-mount instead of two mounts for AMD vs. Intel.

4 out of 5 eggsIts no storm

This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus - Mid Tower Computer Case with Windowed Side Panel and USB 3.0

Pros: Plenty of room. All black finish done very well. Looks great

Cons: Fit was not exact but workable for motherboard I purchased. Mounting rails for drives are lose and not snug like the previous storm version which was one of the best cases I ever purchased

2 out of 5 eggsPoor materials, but has room.

This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus - Mid Tower Computer Case with Windowed Side Panel and USB 3.0

Pros: It's light weight, and has room for just about everything you need for a basic PC to a mid range gaming PC.
The buttons are well responsive, and there is a nice amount of front ports.
Nice fan options.

Cons: First off, others have said a number of things I will say. I'm saying ti again as this is off MY PERSONAL experience, and acts as validation for others clams.
To start, the case itself is flimsy. It takes almost no real effort to bend the metal out of shape, so bee careful when working on it. My top panel is permanently bent, and no longer flush with the side panels.
The back plates for expansion slots are made to be either left on, or leave a hole. The worst part is that you need to take them out before installing a motherboard. Any board will block the ability to remove them. I had to spend more money of some PCI slot covers.
The side panels can be difficult to re-install if the case is up-right. They don't line up well, and usually involves gently pressing on it and trying to slide it into place.
The side panel with the window is especially flimsy/week as it's been bent in the back where the thumb screws are from me removing it. The plastic window is more of a place holder and helps keep the stability of the panel as a whole.
The front LED's are not the same brightness. This doesn't seem like an issue until you see how bright the HDD activity is. It's so bright, it lights up my room. I picked up some LightDim'sto lower it, and it's now slightly dimmer then the power LED.
The plate that holds the motherboard will hold an ATX motherboard, but the mounting screws don't line up on the last column. Not the worst thing, but now you need to hold under the board to connect things on the far right side if they go straight down.
I had to buy accessories for this case. No one should need to buy expansion slot covers for a case this day in age.

Other Thoughts: This is unfortunate as I have a Cooler Master Centurion 5 that is a little over 5 years old that was amazing. The only reason I got this is because it doesn't support a front 120MM fan.
I can't say anything about the included fan, as I removed it and installed a different one before turning it on.
Things I knew before getting, but could have been fixed are no cable management, and only one front USB 3 port.
I wanted to like this case, but I just cant. It will be replaced later this year.
I wound not buy this case again, nor would I suggest it for beginners or experienced builders. I have built over 10 systems, and worked on over 50 with different cases and this it the worst one I have personally seen.
The only reason it's not one egg is because it seems to hold everything well enough for temporary usage, and I will be able to trash it eventually.

2 out of 5 eggsCooler Master What Happened?

This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus - Mid Tower Computer Case with Windowed Side Panel and USB 3.0

Pros: ...Nice looking case

Cons: Poor Cable Management
Cables too short for full sized ATX mobo (HD Audio Cable)
USB 2.0 Cable could be too short depending on Mobo I lucked out
USB 3.0 Cable is very long
Thin metal
No SSD Drive bracket
Video Card / Optical drive slots need broke out watch out for sharp edges
No rear fan
The thin metal means the brass standoff holes for the mobo have very few threads. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!
Blue LED is very bright.

Other Thoughts: I am a Cooler Master Fan Boy!! I love the products but on this case the engineering department went full Hodor.

I will not use this case again, but still have faith in the brand for now...Don't let me down next time!

5 out of 5 eggsCooler master Elite 431 Plus Case

This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus - Mid Tower Computer Case with Windowed Side Panel and USB 3.0

Pros: Nice, sturdy case with lots of room. I especially like the fact that you can plug a hard disk drive in from the front without having to remove the sides.

Cons: Only comes with 1 fan, need to purchase extra fans for cooling of performance systems. The slot panels for plug in cards are hard to remove.

Other Thoughts: I would buy this case again.

2 out of 5 eggsDefinitely better options elsewhere

This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus - Mid Tower Computer Case with Windowed Side Panel and USB 3.0

Pros: -This case looks really slick and really nice on the outside
-The blue fan looks amazing
-Just everything about the outside looks really nice

Cons: -The inside is all kinds of awful, really no positives
- The wiring is a funny joke. No wires even reach anywhere in the case.
-Installation of parts was no better
-Added at least an extra 2-3 hours to my build time
-Would never buy again

4 out of 5 eggsNot too bad

This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus - Mid Tower Computer Case with Windowed Side Panel and USB 3.0

Pros: Everything works just fine. Isn't too heavy and has a nice big window. The front panel comes of fairly easy to make changing the front fan a lot easier. Make sure if you are buying other fans to buy 120mm instead of 140mm. Metal material it's made from is very sturdy. Is fairly big for a mid sized case.

Cons: There is NO cable management whatsoever. The slots for the graphics card have to be broken out and is some what of a task. Had some trouble with some of the screws for the motherboard, but got it sorted out later.

Other Thoughts: I haven't used the SSD hot swap port, but other than that I like it a lot. I really wish it had better cable management but it still gets decent airflow. Works really well for big cheaply priced.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Case/Needs Fan Modification

This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus - Mid Tower Computer Case with Windowed Side Panel and USB 3.0

Pros: Good size case for your typical computer user.

Cons: Does not come with rear fan. You will need to add one yourself. This is imperative. I used this case for my nephew's build. I used it without modifying the case and ended up with a damaged processor due to poor airflow. If you want this case that is fine just 100% definitely add a fan to the back before even powering on once.
