CM Storm Scout 2 Mid Tower Chassis

The highly anticipated recreation of the benchmark in LAN gamer cases, Scout 2 offers refinements on its predecessor’s design to arrive at a theme steeped in the future of combat. These refinements are bolstered by improved steel reinforced carrying handles, bolted to the core structure. Front console connections have been updated to USB 3.0 while offering protection from adverse travel conditions with hidden sliding cover. Support for current high-end hardware is greatly increased by a removable HDD cage that supports VGAs like the NVIDIA GTX 690 and AMD HD 7990, making the Scout 2 better prepared for all conditions. Scout 2 comes in Midnight Black, Gunmetal Gray and Ghost White color.

BRING THE BATTLE TO THEM
Pickup and go at a moment’s notice. Scout 2 comes equipped with comfortable and durable rubber-lined steel reinforced carrying handles that are bolted directly to the steel frame.
HIGH AIRFLOW PERFORMANCE
Scout 2 can support up to 9 fans for maximum airflow to keep your chassis cool.
REMOVABLE HDD CAGE
The HDD cage can be easily removed to accommodate long high-end graphics cards.
CONVENIENT HIDDEN FRONT PORTS
A quick sliding cover protects your ports against damage from travel and other household hazards. It includes 2 x USB 3.0 and 2 x USB 2.0 ports with audio jacks and a LED On/Off switch.

4 out of 5 eggsGood build quality, Attractive Features

Pros: Great build quality, sturdy, overall "Tough" looking case. The carrying handle has made me love it even more (especially when lugging this guy around). Plenty of fan options (although see cons for further thoughts on that). Red LED fans fit in with my MSI themed build.

Cons: Hard drive L.E.D. on the top of the case is sorta half lit. It works, but not all the diodes are firing apparently. Not enough to request an RMA (as there is no current stock on this case), but enough to drop an Egg. Could use a fan power hub as my friend's NZXT case does.

5 out of 5 eggstop notch case!

Pros: Very solid....Plenty of room for the largest GPU's (mine is 11inches with room to spare)....Awesome handle on top (strong and rubber coated).....Completely solid (never heard a single vibration from it)....Black internals which I just prefer for show.....Plenty of cooling options with this case.....Perfect alignment and placement for ATX motherboard .....Excellent for wire tuck......Very pleased with my purchase.

Cons: The only con I have with this case is that it didn't have the small 3.5 inch drive bay option on the front of the case.....I had to get one separate for my front mount card reader! My fault since I didn't specifically look for that option.
.....oh ya for the folks that can't read it only comes with one fan....and yet you still wouldn't know that because you can't read this:)

Other Thoughts: Perfect for my build which was top of the line everything AMD build! No one should be disappointed with this case....

5 out of 5 eggsMid ATX Case

Pros: Easy to install and has plenty of room for a lot of drives and other expansions. The top pops off so making adjustments on the top end without removing everything is easy even if you have a huge heatsink. As a whole, it is very slick and portable. The rubber grip handle feels nice and makes it moving around easy. The black interior looks sexy. Lots of room for fans, I count close to 9 fans.

Cons: Can barely see the power LED. Instructions are minimal so I recommend this for novices and up. Would have been nice if the front panel had better background LEDs like for the power, reset and light buttons. The clip release for the 5.25 drive bays are solid if you're installing a full lenght drive. For half length drives however, even though it does lock it in, they do shift a little if pushed on the side without the locking pin.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Case

Pros: Handle....Inside Space....cable management area....comes with SSD 2.5" brackets....good airflow

Cons: Honestly cant think of any....

Other Thoughts: The handle really makes it easy to carry around, and is durable so it wont break. Another great surprise for me was an area for cable management.

When looking at case, the right panel comes off and there's a space behind plate where MB sits with rubber holes in 3 areas for great cable management.

PSU sits on bottom an there are 2 fan slots there both with small screens. Two fan slots also on side not used, but doesn't seem to affect airflow.

With stock 2 front fans, PSU fan, and top rear fan the temps in case did not get over 33C after gaming for over an hour!

5 out of 5 eggsLike an air conditioned tank!

Pros: Sturdy build. Plenty of options for airflow. Easy installation. Quick release tabs a great. Plenty of room for a evga gt280 to fit without removing the hdd tray. Cable management is great.

Cons: quick release tabs are a little flimsy. the spot for the fan in front of the psu is pretty worthless. Who wants carpet or desk tray airflow? Red leds only in the front of the case makes it a little difficult to customize color without removing and rerouting. If you want red then you are set.

Other Thoughts: Great upgrade from a 10 year old xion solaris case. So many options for cooling.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Lots of room
Great cable management (there's lots of room in the back)
I love the way the drive bays are set up. You basically remove the side panels and there they are ready for you to put in or pull out the hard drives as you wish.
Lots of fans included

Cons: I did have to buy a 3.5" to 2.5" to fit in my 2.5" ssd where I wanted it to go but it's not really a big deal.

Also, no 3.5" external drive space, but I'm hoping to find an adapter that will fit the case.

Other Thoughts: This case made my first build very easy.

5 out of 5 eggsCM Storm Scout 2

Pros: Comes with LED fans
Lots of room for expansion
Not very heavy

Cons: Fan intake in the bottom could be a little farther away from the power supply fan intake. I cant put a fan down there because the power supply is covering some of the hole.

Other Thoughts: This is a great overall case. I haven't really found anything wrong with it. Other than the fan mounting thing in the bottom this is a great case.

My build:
CM Storm Scout 2 Case
MSI Z87-GD65
Intel i7-4770k
MSI GTX 650 2GB
EVGA SuperNOVA 750G
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB
CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO
