CM Storm Scout 2 Mid Tower Chassis

The highly anticipated recreation of the benchmark in LAN gamer cases, Scout 2 offers refinements on its predecessor’s design to arrive at a theme steeped in the future of combat. These refinements are bolstered by improved steel reinforced carrying handles, bolted to the core structure. Front console connections have been updated to USB 3.0 while offering protection from adverse travel conditions with hidden sliding cover. Support for current high-end hardware is greatly increased by a removable HDD cage that supports VGAs like the NVIDIA GTX 690 and AMD HD 7990, making the Scout 2 better prepared for all conditions. Scout 2 comes in Midnight Black, Gunmetal Gray and Ghost White color.

Pickup and go at a moment’s notice. Scout 2 comes equipped with comfortable and durable rubber-lined steel reinforced carrying handles that are bolted directly to the steel frame.
Scout 2 can support up to 9 fans for maximum airflow to keep your chassis cool.
The HDD cage can be easily removed to accommodate long high-end graphics cards.
A quick sliding cover protects your ports against damage from travel and other household hazards. It includes 2 x USB 3.0 and 2 x USB 2.0 ports with audio jacks and a LED On/Off switch.

5 out of 5 eggsSexy case!

Pros: First off I gotta say this is one hell of an aesthetically pleasing case. To start it off It has a nice rubberized handle that is very sturdy. makes handling the case far more easy, secondly is the cable management I can just tell how clean this case is going to look when I get the rest of my components, it has LOTS of room for cables and the side panels push out a little so theres more room. You can remove the middle HDD cage so thats a plus if you have a really large graphics card or you want to improve airflow. Thirdly I just LOVE the fact this case comes with 2 Red LED lights on the front and that the control panel on the top has a switch where you can turn the LED's on the fan's off & on. Overall this is a very good case and I can't wait to work with it once the rest of my gaming PC components ships in! Very happy!!!

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: If you're in the middle of whether you should buy this or not you definitely should you will NOT be disappointed!

(If your wondering what my build is; here it is: Asus M5a97 R2.0, Sapphire Dual x R9 280, AMD FX 6300, G.Skill Ripjaws 2x4gb, Corsair CX600m, WD Blue 1TB, It's my first build and I'm very excited!)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

Pros: Best case I have ever owned hands down. I've built my own computers since 1999 and this case is the highest quality best designed I have had yet. That said I've never spent over $100 dollars on one (typically $60-80). The handle is great and padded. The inside and out are well designed. I put a huge 290x ATI card in it. I did have to remove the extra drive cage for that. That was not a problem at all. I really like the on off at the top and the usb connects being at the top. It comes with 3 case fans and they run super quiet. I have it out in the living room displaying to my tv and I can not hear the case fans 4 feet away. I really liked the drive rails and design of how the dvd and hard drives slide into the system. I have two hard drives WD black 1TB and a small SSD 250gb from samsung and both fit right in nicely in the case.

Cons: The sides have been difficult to get off. I remove the two screws holding it on and then really have to pull hard to dislodge the side panel.

Other Thoughts: I am very pleased with this case and actually may buy another for my second pc upgrade. I would recommend it to anyone.

5 out of 5 eggsSo Beautiful

Pros: I just received my Storm Scout 2 today and even though I watched a lot of reviews to make sure it'd be the right case for me, I was still extremely impressed by the looks and overall construction of it. It's an extremely solid case.

- Extremely Sturdy. Nothing feels cheap on it at all.
- A lot of space behind the left panel for cable management
- One of the hard drive cages is removable to increase space for larger GPU's, i'm putting a GTX 770 in and it just fits with the cage on
-The easy lock system for the drive bays makes installing optical drives and hard drives a snap

Cons: I really haven't noticed anything wrong with it and I don't see how i'd have any problems with it. The only thing that bugs me is that the power LED is extremely dim, but that's something small that most people won't even care about.

5 out of 5 eggsJust Darn Sexy

Pros: The cable management is just ridiculously good.
Carry handle is perfect for moving it around extremely solid.
Very very spacious for a mid tower. When i opened it up and put my Gigabyte GA 990FXA board in there i knew i was going to have a good time.
LED switch for when you don't want the lights to be on
Adult looking case nothing to over the top or cheesy
very sturdy you will feel confident that your precious components are safe inside.
OH and supports 9 FANS or small water cooler.

Cons: If you have a longer GPU you wont be able to place in the HD Cage Fan. I figured out a way to angle it and still get one in there but took a bit of work.

no 5.25 to 3.5 adapter but knew that going in.

Other Thoughts: If you are on the fence, know that you will not be disappointed by this case.

4 out of 5 eggsSexy looking

Pros: The best thing about this case is that it has a whole bunch of cable management space. It also has more than enough fan mounts. Two usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports on the front. In overall it's just so freaking good looking.

Cons: I think the only con about the case is that if you lean on the handle and put too much pressure on it i with bend in, but that was my fault cause im an idiot lol. but no need to worry about the handle, its really sturdy

Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend this case to anyone that is looking for a case thats really sexy looking and has more than enough cable management and fan mounts; and basically a gaming pc. SO its a must buy for this one. I hope i helped out any one looking for a case and is having trouble choosing one cause there is so many lol. i feel your pain. but anyways peace out and i hope you purchase this case.

5 out of 5 eggs  Very good quality

Pros: When I first saw the case in person I knew that it would be great for my build. It has all of the specifications that I was looking for and more. I wasn't sure how well the handle of the case would work, but it is extremely sturdy. Any time I move the case around the handle makes it so much easier.

Cons: The fans that come with it aren't that great, but they do get the job done nonetheless.

Other Thoughts: Very happy I purchased this. I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a great case for their build, whether it's for gaming, work, or whatever else you want.

4 out of 5 eggsPortable

Pros: I really enjoy the handle for LAN parties and the build quality is amazing. Included 2.5 inch drive sleds are nice and the case has great cable management.

Cons: I only have two cons with this case that are just enough to knock off an egg. Unfortunately a 240mm radiator in push-pull can't be mounted at the top without either the fans or the radiator sticking out of the top. Because of this I had to choose a 12m water cooling system. Also I would rather have a larger side panel window instead of having holes for 120mm fans o the side panel.

5 out of 5 eggsSimply the best case I've ever used

Pros: Excellent build quality. Exactly what I've come to expect from Cooler Master. None of the metal is flimsy, all the plastic is matte black and very tough. The carrying handle is covered in a soft rubber and is tied into the frame of the case making it very secure.

The old version of this case wasn't very aesthetically pleasing to me. It sort of had a rounded square look to it. This new version has gone more round and less square giving it an easier to digest look. The side panel window is tasteful and all the front ports can be hidden away with a little sliding door.

The front panel is very easy to remove and doesn't bring any electronics with it, making it particularly easy to clean.

The old case had mounting points for a mixture of 140/120mm fans. This new version has simplified everything by only including mounting points for 120mm fans.

Uses a sliding and locking rail system for 3.5" drives, a system I find much more convenient than screws, and much cleaner to look at than other static mounting/locking methods.

Secondary drive cage can be partially dismantled to make more room inside the case.

Has true front USB3.0, not annoying USB3.0 pass-through. Not particularly impressive today, but a year ago, at this price point, it was a very nice feature.

Cable management has been greatly improved from the old version of this case. The right side panel features a much more prominent pop out to give you more space to hide your cables. It also has holes to allow you to run your CPU power behind the motherboard tray and out near the top of the case.

Cons: I suppose the storm guard feature is kind of useless for me? I can see why Cooler Master included it. This case after all does have a carrying handle, it's built for LAN parties, but for me, it's just a hole I had to plug up. My solution was to take one of the expansion slot guards and install it where the storm guard was. Even that didn't fit too well, so in addition to being held in place by a screw, it's also being held down with some tastefully placed black electric tape.

Other Thoughts: For the time I've owned this case it's been a pleasure to work with. It doesn't have the insane interior space of a full tower case, but it has excellent wire management, which allows me to keep my build looking super clean, but super tight.

I can't speak on how good the standard cooling is because it was installed for less than a day before I replaced every fan and added an additional three, not to mention I'm running a five channel fan controller in this build.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Quality

Pros: Supports High End GPU's
Supports High End CPU Coolers
A lot of upgrade possibilities
Great wire management

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've had this case for awhile, it's been generally amazing, alot of fan spots and ect. Can support large PSU's, GPU's, and CPU coolers with no issues.

Currently i have a NH-D14, R9 290, and an XFX 1050w Plat PSU, with enough room for great wire management.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

Pros: -Large case makes for lots of room for hardware
-Lots of space behind the side panel for cable storage
-Steel reinforced handle very sturdy, perfect if you want to take your desktop to a friends
-Slide cover for ports on the front, good to keep dust out

Overall a solid case with limited issues.

Cons: The mesh at the top of the case lets in a lot of dust, this is easily solved by adding in the 2 120mm fans though.

Other Thoughts: I like the case a lot, I move it from my house to my boyfriends apartment fairly often and its reasonably easy to do so, even with a GTX 770 in it.
