2 out of 5 eggsSeriously...?

This review is from: Cooler Master HAF XB EVO - High Air Flow Test Bench and LAN Box Desktop Computer Case with ATX Motherboard Support

Pros: Love the case! Fasteners are good, panel fitment good, expand-ability good, etc... This case will not disappoint you!

Well, it might. Read below.

Cons: THE FRONT COOLER MASTER EMBLEM IS CROOKED!!!!!!

This is an enormous disappointment for me. I realize that this may not be a big deal to some, or even most; but, for me it is a huge deal! It's like having a grammatical error on your resume. You just can't do that and impress people.

I went to their website hoping to be able to drop an email to someone, but you have to go through a registration process before you can email them. I found that to be unnecessary.

I had no idea how to rate this case, but I will say this...had the emblem been straight, it would've gotten a seven egg rating!

Other Thoughts: Increase QC.

5 out of 5 eggsSmallest "Big" Case I've Found Yet

This review is from: Cooler Master HAF XB EVO - High Air Flow Test Bench and LAN Box Desktop Computer Case with ATX Motherboard Support

Pros: All five sides come off and go back on, easy as pie. The exposed frame makes it very easy to work on just about anything. I like how drive bays and power supply is kept on the bottom, and the motherboard and components have room to breathe (and be showed off!) on top.

They're kind enough to give you some zip ties and places on the frame to zip your cables to. Nice touch. The steel frame is rugged, and the power supply juts out about two inches from the rear of the case (just an FYI for people planning the footprint)

As I mentioned in the title, this is a "small" case that is still able to house a larger motherboard and graphics card. I put a beefy GTX 980Ti in mine along with a 110iGTX liquid cooling unit without any problems at all.

It's very easy to get cables to run from the bottom of the house to the top, if that's something your concerned about when looking at its product page.

The 3" drive bays on the front feature the ability to quick-swap your HDD's or SSD's. Neat feature, but I ended up modding mine to make those two bays hold a card reader and additional USB 3.0 inputs.

Cons: The two 3" drive bays on the front are really only intended to house drives, and not any peripherals. I had a hard time getting my card reader and USB 3.0 inputs to sit in these with the way the hinged doors are designed. I may end up ripping the doors off and drilling my own holes on the mounts to properly fit these hubs, but for now they seem to be doing okay.

If you DO end up keeping and using the quick-swap drive bays, then beware of the power supply you buy. There's not much breathing room between these slots and the PSU.

The front panel feels a little cheap, but then again the case is a great price for its functionality.

Other Thoughts: I was looking online at what people have done with this case and it's really a fun one to mod with, IMO. All the faces come off easily. The power/reset buttons and stock USB ports can be easily removed, so you can paint or powder coat every part of the case without messy taping or risk of damage to components.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Testbed, easy build

This review is from: Cooler Master HAF XB EVO - High Air Flow Test Bench and LAN Box Desktop Computer Case with ATX Motherboard Support

Pros: Huge interior, great airflow, handy features.
Bought this as a case for my home office/gaming/work do-all machine and I have to say that this case has given me the best build experience in years. From the spacious interior, to the modular panel set up, to the little quality-of-life improvements on the overall design, this case has so far proven to be a breeze to use as a testbed. Plenty of spare room for further expansion as well.

Cons: None that I can think of. Maybe future dust accumulation?

Other Thoughts: Bigger than it may seem. This thing can fit a full ATX motherboard with ease. Might be an issue with larger GPU's if using a smaller board, as the header for the case wires can be pressed on.

5 out of 5 eggsLOVE IT. 200MM FAN WONT WORK WITH TALL CPU COOLERS. SEE CONS

This review is from: Cooler Master HAF XB EVO - High Air Flow Test Bench and LAN Box Desktop Computer Case with ATX Motherboard Support

Pros: LOVE THE ABILITY TO REMOVE EVERY PANEL. REMOVEABLE MOTHERBOARD TRAY. TONS OF ROOM. KEEPS PC NICE AND COOL.

Cons: YOU CANNOT USE THE 200MM FAN WITH ANYTHING AS TALL AS THE HYPER 212 EVO CPU COOLER. I'M HAVING TO MOUNT MINE ON TOP OF THE MESH WITH SOME RUBBER BUSHINGS TO AT LEAST USE THE $30 200MM FAN I PURCHASED

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master HAF XB EVO - High Air Flow Test Bench and LAN Box Desktop Computer Case with ATX Motherboard Support

Pros: It contains perks one would see in a much more expensive case.
I personally would love to have tons of these just for the ease at which you can switch motherboards out.
Multiple levels in the case give it a more compact footprint while streaming more air over the components that need it most.
Hard drive bays are hot swappable and in the front
Lots of space to route cables

Cons: Taller than I expected, but I could have done the measurements so no eggs off.
Badge on the front cant be taken off without gaping hole. I was going to replace it with a sick MSI badge.

Other Thoughts: Not small enough for the top of a desk but I use it in my living room and I just barely didnt have enough room for it in the entertainment center, so the glass shelf is now resting a few inches in the air with wood blocks on the case corners (to keep from blocking the top vent) This was because I didnt measure and I was barely wrong enough to have to work around it.

4 out of 5 eggsAMAZING Case!

This review is from: Cooler Master HAF XB EVO - High Air Flow Test Bench and LAN Box Desktop Computer Case with ATX Motherboard Support

Pros: 4 Removable Panels
USB 3.0 Ports in front
Fan mounts where it counts
Easily removable HDD Bays
Removable interior Drive Bays
Removable MoBo Tray
Plenty of notches for zipties - Easy Cable Management
Plenty of room for a GPU like mine (GTX 670)
Removable dust filter for PSU
Removable mount for PSU
Side Vents, Mesh grille in front
Carrying Handles
Enough height for a tall CPU Cooler (See Cons)

Cons: Mesh top, but with a tall CPU Cooler (made by CM) WILL NOT fit along side a top mounted 200mm Fan (also made by CM).

Super Bright (obnoxious when flashing) RED Power LED. First case I have ever seen with a LED that wasn't Green or Blue.

only 2 - 5.25" Bays

Front Mesh Collects Dust, not easy to clean.

Other Thoughts: LOVE THIS CASE, but it's too bad you can't use a CM Cooler (Hyper 212 Evo) with a CM Fan (200mm), one would have thought they would have thought of this and measured the case accordingly before finalizing the design.

I bought a new Top Panel (the one with the window instead of the mesh) since I couldn't use the 200mm fan anyway and the Mesh allowed for extra dust to produce in my case minus the help of the other fans.

It looks great when fully assembled and was very easy to assemble, Cable Management with a non-modular PSU was surprisingly easy.

4 out of 5 eggsSpacious, but no Rebate...

This review is from: Cooler Master HAF XB EVO - High Air Flow Test Bench and LAN Box Desktop Computer Case with ATX Motherboard Support

Pros: 1) Tons of Air flow for the cooling components.
2) Toolless Drive bay installation.
3) X-doc implementation.
4) Tons of fan placements, I'm an Air cool type of person so filling out all the fan slots is kinda an OCD type of thing. and I love all the fan mount spots.
5) The indented handles on the sides, great for lifting to LAN parties (if you have a lightweight system)!

Cons: 1) I purchased the EVO variant which means I swapped out the SSD bracket with a HDD. Now I could purchase a SSD drive sled from a third party vendor but I want the whole bracket to be swappable.
2) On my product (this won't be applicable to others) my MOBO tray sometimes won't cooperate when I want to reinstall the tray.
3) Rebates...I purchased this case along time ago but still have yet to receive a rebate in the mail (did the necessary paper work when doing so). and it's been 34 weeks, originally the rebate was set to 15 weeks if I recall.

Other Thoughts: Time for the nitpicks, 7 expansion slots for extra cards, I wish there could of been 8 but that what I spent my money on.

No dust filters with the side vents. dust filters for the drive bays are "frilled"

A great paper weight :P

This case is fantastic. Just I want my rebate.
