5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

Pros: When optimally utilized I would venture to say this is the coolest case out there. Installation is a breeze and I always prefer to have my motherboard lie flat. For me, 5 eggs.

Cons: Only con for me is a result of my own stupidity. It fits 180mm PSU and I purchased 200mm PSU assuming the giant case wouldn't have an issue. It would have taken me 20 seconds max to figure out this bit of info beforehand but too late now. With a little know-how it was easily modded to fit.

3 out of 5 eggsJekyll and Mr. Hyde of cooling

Pros: The case is very spacious and easy to access, Lots of ventilation for motherboard components and I even managed to fit a large CPU air cooling solution. The case is also very sturdy, easy to move around and it looks good.

Cons: - It is divided into two sections: The top, where most of the components reside, and the bottom, where the power supply, drives and cables live. This is where the problem(s) lies. However cool and open the top part is, the bottom is its evil opposite with no ventilation panels, holes or fan mounts of any kind (with a HDD bay exception).

- Forget about placing this case on top of carpeting or another "soft" surface. The bottom placed PSU draws air, through a filter, from the bottom, so you only have about a 1/2 inch of clearance between the air intake and whatever surface the case is on. Keep this in mind.

- Also, all the extra cables in your power supply will be cramped in this small area, further blocking any possible air flow (if there is any),

- There are 3 drive bay groups: 2 HDDs in the back of the case, the 2 optical drives in the front and 2 hot-swap HDD trays in the front, next to the optical drives.
- The optical drive bays are nothing to speak about as they do what they are supposed to do.

- The 2 front "x-dock" bays are where the deadly problem lies. See "other thoughts" for details.

Other Thoughts: - The back drives are cramped but the case panel here is ventilated and there are mounts for 2 -not included- 80mm fans (which I used to push cool air into the bottom of the case). This open area and these -optional- 2 fans are the ONLY cooling available to the entire bottom part of the case (other than the minimal gaps between the motherboard tray and the rest of the case)!!! I used a SSD and a hybrid 2.5" drive here, further allowing airflow through - 3.5" drives would be cramped here-.

- The HUGE issue (that will kill your hard drives) resides in the 2 front "x-dock" HDD trays. This is a nightmare and I can only imagine the rationalization that went on to allow this design into production. Although the bay itself is metal, the trays where the drives sit are plastic -a very, very poor heat conductor-. In addition to the material used, there is virtually no ventilation holes, openings, space between the drives or open mesh/grill of any sort!!! Definitely none in the case as there are no openings to draw air out or push air in to try to dissipate whatever heat manages to escape the oven that this drive bay is.

- I had a 500GB Seagate Barracuda on the bottom and a 3TB WD Black on top. The Seagate will stay there, but the WD is my removable backup. I ran a backup on my system (about 3 hours) and while the WD was VERY hot, the Seagate was actually painful to the touch. I was so freaked out that the drives were pulled and placed in front of a fan, in front of the AC vent.

- This was last night. Tonight the project is to take the case apart and start drilling holes and cutting panels to see if I can make those "x-dock" bays usable because, as they are from factory, they are simply HDD killers.

- Cooler Master, if you are also reading this review, it would be nice if i could purchase additional x-dock trays.or a mesh cover for an unused x-dock. I am using the top x-dock for my off-site backup drive, but it would be nice if I had different drives already mounted on trays.

- As it is now, I am leaving that top slot open to try to provide minimal ventilation for the bottom drive, but this impacts the good looks of this case.

5 out of 5 eggsEpic Case

Pros: Had my rig in a Coolermaster Storm Scout case and transferred it into this one and my Operating temperature went down 12 Degrees F. around my GPU and my CPU.
There's plenty of room for expansion and modding. Definitely a modder's case. Plenty of spots to tuck, hide, and zip down wires and such.
You can mount your 120-140mm front fans inside the case or on the outside behind the grill like they are stock depending on your preference.
So easy to install and maintenance parts due to the motherboard tray being removable.
Can hold a bunch of laptop/external type 2.5in drives.
3.5in drive hotswap bays are very sturdy and very nice.
Has so much room inside i actually didn't need the raised top for my CPU heatsink and fan to fit (Coolermaster 212 Plus)
The Ports on the case including the headphone, mic, and usb 3.0s are very impressive. Nice and strong.
The fans the case comes with are very high quality Coolermasters that come with molex adapters just in case.
The thumb screws are nice.
The frame is so strong i can sit on it (175lbs) and there is no flex in the panels at all holding them off of the case.
Handles are built in, strong, and durable.

Cons: You have so many options its hard to decide where you want to route things. (takes some time to put together)

Other Thoughts: Newegg only has the mesh style case and not the windowed one.
So much room in this thing I was able to install my own speakers to the case and was able to have significant space away from Magnet sensitive components.
Can stand on its side nicely and take up less space than a conventional tower if you have some rubber foot pads to put on it.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Bigger than you think, incredible airflow (if you replace stock fans with some Corsair SP120s, anyway) and above all, it's a very open case, which means it'll better ventilate the heat, rather than warming up internally and acting as a bedroom heater.

Dozens of tie-down points for cable management. This case was a dream to build.. Dropped my CM Cosmos for it and couldn't be happier.

LOTS of room on the mobo tray for high/long GPUs and coolers, but.. see con.

Favorite part has gotta be the top panel, 70% mesh, removable and easy access for part-swapping, OC'ing and.. well, what it's advertised for-- it's a Test-bed.

Cons: Advertised as fitting the CM V8 cooler, while this is true, it's a half-truth.

The case will only fit the V8 (6+ inch coolers) WITHOUT a 200mm top-fan installed. I'll order up a 200mm x 20mm (low-profile) fan and update if that'll fit, however eyeballing it-- I don't think there's 3/4 inch clearance between the fan mount and the top of the cooler.

Other Thoughts: It's so clean.. It's like the REAL Game Cube. XD

.. I'm much more aware of my noise levels from the case fans now, though not really a con.. White noise from case fans is calming after 20 years.

(Old, I know, I'll upgrade when there's a point)
i7 2600k @ 4.4 w/ HT on air (idle @ 34'c, no powersaving, 100% 24/7)
16GB Corsair Dominator GT 1600
SLI'd GTX 470s

PS; NewEgg shipped this thing out via OnTrac, a regional shipping company that has some fantastically bad reviews, horror stories and the lot online. This was not the case for me, I ordered the stuff sunday, OnTrac got a hold of it monday and I received an email at about 10:15am tuesday that it had been delivered.

I selected 3-day shipping but basically got the thing over-nighted.

I've seen NewEgg travesties scattered about the 'net, but they've kept me a loyal and extremely happy customer since ~2002.

5 out of 5 eggsBig Case

Pros: Plenty of room for expansion. Stay very cool even it hot weather.

Cons: The sheer size.

Other Thoughts: I knew this was going to be a big case. But wow it is big takes up a lot of space. I do love it but I need a bit more room. After having this thing for a few months. I have decided to move down to a smaller case. I'm not saying that the size is a bad thing. Its just I don't have the room for this at the moment. But it has worked well with everything I have put in it. Love how all the sides come off so easy. Makes it fun to play around in. As far as the hot swap bays I have never had the need to use them. But I would say be careful to make sure your drive is seated properly or you could break the leads.

5 out of 5 eggsI couldn't love this case more

Pros: Everything worked as it should in all 3 of these cases I've dealt with. Love the HDD dock option and the airflow you can get is just truly impressive. It is by far the easiest case to work on I've ever encountered. I also love the mobo being horizontal I've always disliked upright cases.

Cons: Had to train my cat to not sleep on it.

Other Thoughts: I bought one for myself and loved it so much I got one for my wife too (since I have to do the work on it i decided i'd get this one)

Since then I have built a computer for a friend and of course this is the case i went for. He loves it too.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very sturdy. Lots of options for cable management (comes with cable ties and lots of places to attach them to.) Removable motherboard tray is godsend when putting on a bulky aftermarket cpu cooler. PSU is mounted underneath the motherboard tray so keeping cables out of the way of airflow is trivial. Lots of fan/radiator configuration options.

Cons: Like some other reviewers have stated, the left panel (from the front perspective) is a little loose, but it's only noticeable when you're moving it around; it doesn't make noise during operation. I'll probably bend a few of the pins later to firm the grip.

Other Thoughts: Cooler Master, consider offering swappable power buttons if you're going to choose the LED color for us. Not that big of a deal, but would be a nice option to have.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome airflow, and sturdy!

Pros: excellent airflow.
plenty of room inside for parts.
panels are sturdy as hell!

Cons: the hot swap dock isn't working.

Other Thoughts: when you're building in this case make sure you attach all of the cables you need into the PSU. I put my rig together and completely forgot to install my CD/DVD drive, had to cut all the zip ties and remove the motherboard tray so I could get the cables plugged in to the PSU.

about the hotswap dock. on my case. HHDs are getting power, I can hear them spinning when plugged in but they just don't show up. Don't know whats going on because when I plug them in to the regular sata ports they show up just fine.

that is the only reason I'm knocking an egg off. not really THAT big of a deal for me. I'll probably just remove the PCB and use the slots as regular mounting bays for my extra HDDs.

another that is annoying me, but isn't a con. the left side panel doesn't want to fit tightly like the other panels. doesn't rattle UNLESS you touch it. only bothers me if I bump against it while shuffling things on my desk.

other than that, this is an AWESOME case!!
