5 out of 5 eggsThe Best Case I have ever seen

This review is from: CM Storm Trooper - Gaming Full Tower Computer Case with Handle and External 2.5" Drive Dock with Side Panel Window

Pros: The case is MEGA huge, which is what a full tower is supposed to be. The side window and fan options are an added plus. I am not an OCer, however, I can definitely see the available cooling options whether for fans or water. The cable management was a breeze and has a load of options. The ability to remove or reposition the HHD cages is flipping awesome, though bits tedious until you get the hang of it. I had not used a new case in over a decade (coming from the old chief tech server tower yes I know I dated myself). The handle is very sturdy and the bigger fans are at lower noise decibels than my 3 80mms that I just had. The build quality is very sturdy and not cheap plastic like I have seen on other popular cases these days. I appreciated that they give a dust filters since newer cases have more open ports.

CM definitely knocked this one out the ballpark. I had trouble connecting the power switch to the MOBO and originally thought it was missing, called CM and a Patrick answered the phone and told me it connects directly to the PSU through the Molex connector. I contemplated between NZXT for two weeks, but in my humble opinion, their reviews are just too mixed for the amount of cash they are asking you to pay, in addition to the proprietary 200mm fans in the full tower cases. Make no mistake, they look pretty, but beauty does not always mean quality, I have dated enough women to learn that hard lesson LOL. This is a really great case and I will certainly keep it until it just quits.

I have had the case for a few days and will update as needed, but so far so good.

Cons: The only cons are the tooless HHD attachments are definitely on the flimsy side, because I broke one and cracked the other just putting them on my HHDs, so be EXTRA careful with those. The 2nd con is that the top fan does not have an LED like the front two. No big deal though. The two cons do not warrant taking a egg off for.

5 out of 5 eggsSucked in and BLOWN away!

This review is from: CM Storm Trooper - Gaming Full Tower Computer Case with Handle and External 2.5" Drive Dock with Side Panel Window

Pros: Check it out yo, I'm a verified owner!
I purchased this case because I was tired of the cleaning process with my old Rosewill Destroyer. This case is SOOOOOO much easier to clean. The front filters, the bottom filter, the power supply filter, and the top filter are all very easy to remove and re-install, but are secure once installed.
• The Screen that looks into the case itself is the perfect size, not too big or small.
• Plenty of space for fans, my current set up is two pushing in air from the front, two pushing air from the bottom, one pushing air from the back, two pushing air from the back.
• The case is wide enough to accommodate large aftermarket CPU coolers.
• The Handle is very strong, thus carrying this case should not be a worry, no matter how heavy.
• Great feel to this case (I love rubbing my face on it).
• The buttons work well on this case
• The case is beautiful in style
• The top buttons actually do control fan speed and the LED lights.
• This case is very sturdy
• The cable management makes a huge difference.
• More versatile than meets the eye.
• The stands are tall enough that I actually have a gap of air for my bottom fans.
• Worth its $159.99 price tag, but I would happily pay as much as $175.
• This case comes with lots of extra screws and zip ties!

Cons: • In order to use the LED on/off, you must have special fans (besides the ones included) that have a three pin connector (power) and two pin connector (the LED itself).
• The case is HEAVY with a full build

Other Thoughts: I'll be honest, I use to have this thing against "big cases" I use to think that they were too big for their own good, you couldn't control air flow well, looked out of place in a home environment (I'm looking at you THOR from rosewill) and were a waste of money. And I still do have some of those views, but this trooper case is the perfect size, not too big or small (I was originally going to purchase the cooler master storm scout because of form factor). I am happy that I purchased this case, the few extra inches across all dimensions really do make a huge difference. But more importantly is the design and build quality, you'll know what I mean when you get it. Do what I did, watch 2 hours of youtube videos from professional reviewers (not the cheap web cam people).

Closing comments:
This case has made me consider going with water cooling, but only the super reliable stuff. I feel like I have the space for a cpu cooler and a graphics card with water cooling. This thing has a ton of space. I don't regret spending the money on it, it really stands out when my friends and family visit.

5 out of 5 eggsThe best case ever

This review is from: CM Storm Trooper - Gaming Full Tower Computer Case with Handle and External 2.5" Drive Dock with Side Panel Window

Pros: Plenty of room. Most likely the last case you will need for some time. Plenty of fans for ample cooling

Cons: This is a large case that needs some space.

Other Thoughts: I looked at a lot of cases. I really did not have room for something this big but with all the features it was the best.

5 out of 5 eggsCooler Master wins again!

This review is from: CM Storm Trooper - Gaming Full Tower Computer Case with Handle and External 2.5" Drive Dock with Side Panel Window

Pros: -Plenty of space for components, fans/cooling, and upgrading in the future.
-Ample room for cable management.
-Already comes with four fans with case-controlled fan speed and LED lights. You can run these fans off your motherboard if you so choose.
-Has a SATA X-Dock for SSDs. Something I may not use now but in the future.
-Plenty of hard drive space in the cages. Also has a 2.5" cage for SSDs.
-LED lighting on the case and fans are bright but not distracting.
-Side panel window is large and gives you room to show off your components.
-Front ports include 2 USB 3.0 and audio jacks. Really nice when you don't want to reach to the back to plug "fast moving" items in and out.
-The carry handle is well-balanced and gives you a good grip.
-The overall feel of the case is very nice. Doesn't feel cheap at all.

Cons: -Not sure if this is really a con but the weight of the case is quite substantial. The carry handle makes it much easier to lug around. However, those of you looking to move this case around from house to house may find it a bit heavy.
-Included documentation is a bit vague. I find this typical of many case manufacturers; however, if you know what you're doing it wont really be much of an issue.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this for a new build. I found this case very easy to set up and a dream to cable manage. The LEDs and side window give a nice touch to the already aesthetically-pleasing case. Cooling this system seems to not really be a concern as it comes with plenty of fans, with room to improve. I have always loved CM products and this one is no exception. I really don't think you'll be disappointed with this case if you are looking for an ATX-sized rig.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CM Storm Trooper - Gaming Full Tower Computer Case with Handle and External 2.5" Drive Dock with Side Panel Window

Pros: -Very Roomy
-Configurable (for air flow, lots of mounting options)
-Very sturdy.
-Easy to work with.
-Filters work great (I have three cats who love to sit in my office with my computers)

Cons: -Documentation can be a little fuzzy, but its strait forward enough.

Other Thoughts: -I only had one problem with the actual case and that was that one of the screws on the front bays was warped. I ended up being able to get the screw out using a flat head for leverage. This was really minor and I fixed it very quickly.

5 out of 5 eggsIf Batman built his own PC...

This review is from: CM Storm Trooper - Gaming Full Tower Computer Case with Handle and External 2.5" Drive Dock with Side Panel Window

Pros: ..he would have Alfred order the Trooper from newegg.

First off, the thing looks styled after Batman's Tumbler. Awesome. Coupled with the asus z87 wifi magnetic card stuck to the side, mine looks like it has bat ear coming off the back. Fantastic aesthetic.

Second, Ive already used the rubber handle numerous times during the build process as a solid gripping point to maneuver efficiently, which was a priceless experience. Also, I just like the idea of my pc being easy to carry. Ive had to transport my prior pc many times during moves and it was always a pain in the rear.

I love the space for building, the cable management is perfect, it looks better IRL than any pictures/videos ive seen. One the newegg video review I thought the front facade looked cheap, but I was completely wrong. Quality materials. I love the tactile rubber coating on the metal. I also love that there is no window fan. It looks so much cleaner than other cases for this reason.

There may be more expensive cases out there, but nothing comes close to the bang for the buck as this case. I could go on forever about the features, but lets just say its worth every penny.

Cons: Although Im in love with this case there are shortfalls.

- The BEEP noise that adjusts fan speeds is absolutely ridiculous and obnoxious. It sounds like your mom's microwave oven from the 80's. Bypass this problem by hooking up the hard drive fans to your mobo.

The utility compartment in the bottom front is the most useful and innovative part of this case to me. WHY DONT ALL CASES HAVE THIS?! (the con is coming) I found myself accessing this compartment more times than I can count during the build, and I like that I wont have to rummage in some forgotten corner of a closet in the future when the time comes to revisit the build.

Unfortunately the plastic tensile latch that snaps the lid down broke, and that was pretty frustrating. I hope in future builds they upgrade this to metal components. Fortunately mine still closes. Just keep that in mind and open/close it carefully.

When my order arrived from newegg, I was concerned when I saw the package, thinking they had shipped me the wrong case. Apparently Coolermaster never changed the look of the packaging to match the windowed case, (as opposed to the dated mesh side) and that concerned me enough to almost call newegg right away without even opening the box. Minor gripe, but still I think Coolermaster should have changed the packaging accordingly.

Finally, just a bit of advice from my frustration - mount your SSD(s) before installing the PSU and save yourself some headache.

Other Thoughts: In some ASUS/Newegg video out there, JJ from ASUS discusses reversing the ceiling fan from exhaust to intake. At first I was inclined to disagree, but with this particular case, I believe thats an effective and reasonable solution if you keep your hard drive fans in the factory perpendicular setup. Because otherwise you have no intake fans pulling air inside! Even though heat rises, I think that controlling the airflow is a powerful enough solution to manipulate the heat path in the compact environment, and I want to make sure cold air is blowing over my ram and mobo components.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice Case !

This review is from: CM Storm Trooper - Gaming Full Tower Computer Case with Handle and External 2.5" Drive Dock with Side Panel Window

Pros: Everything on this Case went together without a fight it all fit together nice and snug Cooler Master spent a lot of time on this alone screws were very smooth the X dock is a nice feature and works well this case is very sturdy has very nice color scheme the outside looks Fantastic came with 200mm fan at the top 140 rear and 2 x 120 at the front with room for more as if you would need them and they are on a fan controller this case also has dust filters throughout the paint is everywhere i meant i could not find a bare spot except where the fan controller grounds which is very well hidden this case is superb i love it and will be buying my next one from Cooler Master

Cons: the security lock is poor needs improved the rear expansion card covers do not sit flush and can be turned the rear 140 fan is up against the edge of the case 120 would solve this but ill live with the 140 needs a grommet below the motherboard for things like usb front audio ect

Other Thoughts: while i do have a few Cons listed they are minor at best please do not let them be the reason you do not purchase this case because i did and i love it i even thought i might by the Storm Stryker because it is in White and its pretty much identical to the Storm Trooper all things aside i love the space this case has will buy my next case from Cooler Master if they keep making products of this Quality at a great price
