4 out of 5 eggsBeautiful case

This review is from: MasterCase Pro 5 Mid-Tower Case with FreeForm™ Modular System, Window Side Panel, Top Mesh Cover, and Watercooling Bracket by Cooler Master

Pros: -lots of space
-lots of customizing

Cons: -top radiator cover is pretty loose sadly
-I accidentally ordered two...

Other Thoughts: -I would definitely recommend it to a friend. I just so happen to let my friend buy the extra on I bought on accident for 100.
-like I stated as a con the radiator cover is pretty loose.

5 out of 5 eggsJust What the Doctor Ordered

This review is from: MasterCase Pro 5 Mid-Tower Case with FreeForm™ Modular System, Window Side Panel, Top Mesh Cover, and Watercooling Bracket by Cooler Master

Pros: -Space and lots of it. Wide enough for tall CPU coolers.
-Versatile. You get a bit more freedom to do what you want with this one. Don't need that- take it out. Yields a nice clean look.
-Air flow, Air flow. Air flow.
-Looks- I think this is a really appealing case visually even before any lights or other toys are added. Subtle right of the box. But a wonderful starting point if you want to customize.
-Easy to clean filters. Easy to remove. Thankfully. Put enough fans in this thing and it is like another vacuum in the house. You'll be cleaning them frequently.
-The feet that lift her up. That allows the PS to get a fresh air supply from the bottom. That allows that separate chamber for the PS down out of sight. Keeps the wires out of sight for the most part. Yields a clean final look.
-Build quality is superb. No sharp edges. Built in cable management.

Cons: -The underside filter is not as airtight as you would think. You'll need to keep the filter clean and prevent it from clogging. Or the draw from the PS will just pull the dust through the sides. Easy enough to remedy and seal it up better. Not enough of an issue to reduce an egg though. The front filter is pretty airtight though and easy to get out so it reduces the detraction of the lower filter design.
-The design only allows for 2 drive bays to be used. If you have a need to have three, look close and figure out how you are going to get that done, or what you are not going to install. I've seen some controller panels that take 3 bays. Not with this chassis you aren't. This is more of a limitation than a con however. Plan your build accordingly.

Other Thoughts: I looked high and low and just did not see anything that said this is your next case. Until I found this gem. The flexibility of the design is awesome. My old chassis was an OLD Cooler Master ATC 201B. Hated to not be able to use that again, but the design is dated and will not allow for newer power supplies and with only 80 mm fan provisioning I knew it was time for her to retire. This was a wonderful replacement however. No regrets at all. I had originally wished they would have incorporated a removable motherboard tray like they used to, but this thing has plenty of room to work in it without it. Especially with the top cover off.

This case is pretty big. Wide as well. No issues with headroom for the Cooler Master GTS-V8 cooler I used at all. Looking forward to anything the designers come up with the will allow some adaptations with this chassis.

As much as I loved my old case, I am not missing her one little bit....

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome case!

This review is from: MasterCase Pro 5 Mid-Tower Case with FreeForm™ Modular System, Window Side Panel, Top Mesh Cover, and Watercooling Bracket by Cooler Master

Pros: - Awesome case with plenty of space and plenty of customize friendly route.
- Great cable management
- Placement of HDD and SSD location is grand. You can literally mount SSD's in 3 different locations.
- Nice airflow and with combination of cpu cooler and how the case is designed, I get idle temps about 25c for CPU and 28C for motherboard. Load temps at about 30-35c. Rarely goes to 40c. Of course your CPU type and set up will change this value.
- I love the separation of PSU and the main components. Keeps temps separate and cables tidy.
- Easy to remove side panels.
- Handles to help you carry the tower. Very easy to move this big boy because it is heavy with all components inside. (Again, your results will vary based on PSU weight, GPU weight, etc.
- Have 2 mechanical drives and 1 SSD installed into this case. 2HDD and optical drive on the very top corner so air flows through easily because you can remove the HDD cage! Love it!

Cons: Now for the cons... Coming from a CM Advanced II case, I have nothing really bad to say about this case. I upgraded to this tower because my CM Advanced II case was only USB 2.0 front panel. The airflow to my CM Advanced II case was awesome, but this one is even better.

However, some of the screws to this case can be a bit janky, as the threads of the holes are either a bit loose or a bit too small. It is advertised as a tool free case but I had to use a screwdriver to remove some of the screws, unless of course I wanted to peel the skin off my fingers. Some screws didn't go in all the right way when putting it back on, again, could be janky holes, but not enough to take an egg as it just takes a little patience and work.

Standoff screws and other screws: Some people were reporting that they didn't get standoff screws and I was a bit afraid to purchase this product solely because of this report. Coolermaster has done me well in the past but I've read some horror stories with this company so I was weary going in. Once I decided to take the jump and bought this case, I opened the package and realized that I did not see any packaging for screws and what not. I was really upset and freaking out because I could not find the packaging for the screws ANYWHERE! I was getting ready to use extra standoff screws from my previous case (CM Advanced II), but still upset and was about to give CoolerMaster hell about it, until I realized that I the standoff screws and all the other stuff was located inside one of the HDD cages! Total dunce hat moment and out loud called myself insulting names.

I am not calling out to everyone who reviewed this case on NewEgg any names but I want to give other customers a notice. STAND OFF SCREWS ARE LOCATED IN ONE OF THE HDD CAGES! Do not think it didn't come any and start getting upset. It's hard to see because the box that the screws come in is black, interior is black, everything is black, and it's hard to see. Look hard inside one of the HDD cages. It is all inside! Now it would not have been an ideal location I would've put if I had a choice but breathe better knowing your screws are indeed inside the case.

Besides this, I really have nothing bad to say about this case at all. CM did it again and despite all the bad things I read about CM and their customer service, I personally think they make some outstanding products.

Other Thoughts: Get this case, as it is future proof to the fullest degree. There are small things here and there that's annoying about this case but it is nothing to grumble over on a permanent basis. The fans inside (3) are quiet and runs your components really cool. The case itself looks awesome (like a stealth fighter), and the carrying handles at top makes moving this thing (when you absolutely have to) a breeze. Coming from a CM Advanced II, I love this case much better to be honest just because it is much easier to carry than my previous case.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent case!

This review is from: MasterCase Pro 5 Mid-Tower Case with FreeForm™ Modular System, Window Side Panel, Top Mesh Cover, and Watercooling Bracket by Cooler Master

Pros: Made with quality materials and built to last.
Large enough to fit all my components easily.
Additional parts can be purchased to further customize this case.
IT HAS HANDLES. I CAN ACTUALLY CARRY IT PROPERLY.
Some parts are easy to remove.
Side window has a black plexi(?) glass bottom to block the view of the cables tangled in a mess.
Comes with 3 140mm fans. (These are GREAT fans)
So many places to mount SSDs and HDD.

Cons: Heavy. My system weighs around 60 pounds now. The case is half of that.
The side panel hiding the wires was EXTREMELY difficult to remove. At one point I thought I was going to break the case trying to remove it. I believe either the box was bumped in transit jamming the side panel, or during assembly a worker simply pushed too hard assembling the case.

Either way this was simply an inconvenience I resolved quickly and the panel now opens as desired.

All thumb screws are tightened to the point where I was almost tearing flesh off my fingers trying to unscrew them.

The placement position of the SSD (upside right or upside down) on the bottom is a bit confusing and the sata cables suffer if you do not have the proper sata cables (bends).

Only (2) 5.25" front bays.

Other Thoughts: I gave this product 5/5 eggs because it is exactly as advertised and is made very well. The option to customize the case is also there, and hopefully soon Cooler Master will release even more parts to customize this case.

I purchased this product because it is exactly what I wanted. (Large fans, window, quality, known reputable company, large case, roomy, can be customized (afterthought), and has good cooling.

The black plexi(?) glass on the bottom blocking the view of the bottom compartment is really nice. It hides the jumble of wires, but can be removed if desired.

5 out of 5 eggswin. infiniti!!!

This review is from: MasterCase Pro 5 Mid-Tower Case with FreeForm™ Modular System, Window Side Panel, Top Mesh Cover, and Watercooling Bracket by Cooler Master

Pros: By far best case I've seen in a while for a mid lvl. Its more of a full. Its perfect. Its beautiful. Its everything. fans super quiet. with enermax 240 cooler, cant even tell its on. fits with room to spare in top cpu cooler mnt. Can easily change rad fans without opening side case. Upgraded from corsair spec 02. Went flawless. A lot of expandability.

Cons: Only downside, its a heavy beast. But it has handles. So it helps a lot. It is about five inches taller than a lot of cases.

Other Thoughts: Cause of my kids. Wish it had a front input/usb cover. Don't like coming home and finding it's been on all day. Or reset a whole bunch. Daughter thinks its funny i guess.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Mid Tower Case, Innovative, High Quality

This review is from: MasterCase Pro 5 Mid-Tower Case with FreeForm™ Modular System, Window Side Panel, Top Mesh Cover, and Watercooling Bracket by Cooler Master

Pros: -Durable and you can tell the material is high quality
-Everything is modular
-Easy to use
-Amazing amount of room for a mid tower

I love how it looks. It's sleek and simple on the outside, but what's inside is far from plain. Nearly everything in this case can be customized.

Cons: I really can't think of any "cons". You will need a screwdriver the first time you loosen anything on here, for some silly reason Cooler Master thinks thumb screws need to be tightened with one. But that's not really a con and it doesn't hurt anything. Just have a screwdriver handy for your first use.

Other Thoughts: Would you recommend this product?
Yes, absolutely. If you're looking for a quality mid tower with some room to expand and a great design, you've found it.

Would you change anything?
The back is a little more open than I'd prefer, but with a good enough positive air flow it will be fine.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME

This review is from: MasterCase Pro 5 Mid-Tower Case with FreeForm™ Modular System, Window Side Panel, Top Mesh Cover, and Watercooling Bracket by Cooler Master

Pros: Just buy it

I freaking love this case. There is so much space its just stupid especially for a mid tower.
All hard drive trays can come out which allows for extra long video cards or if you just want it to look spacious.
I love the SSD clips which allow for back panel mount behind the motherboard or below the motherboard so you can see it in the window.
I have installed a corsair H100i gtx in the top with no issues
I love how you can install 3 140mm fans in the front (I used red corsair fans looks awesome)
The psu is separated from the rest of the case for cable management and airflow also has a dust filter for the fan
usb 3 ports as well as gold plated audio jacks

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: JUST BUY IT you will love this thing

5 out of 5 eggsBest mid-tower case ever!!! Will not find better

This review is from: MasterCase Pro 5 Mid-Tower Case with FreeForm™ Modular System, Window Side Panel, Top Mesh Cover, and Watercooling Bracket by Cooler Master

Pros: -Sleek and sturdy. not flimsy, very heavy
-Easy to work in and install
-virtually toolest (but many of my thumbscrews came very tight)
-even the window comes with nice sturdy assembly
-grommets are super durable and worked well
-bottom chamber for power supply and cables was amazing!
-the case power headers were clearly labeled and really made things a breeze
-Fan options really made the case stay cool and maintain airflow
-the special water-cooling radiator cage, made things so flawless of an install. Plus the cage gave me some serious clearance with my motherboard (MSI Z170a SLI)
-best packaging I have ever experienced in anything for PC builds. It was Perfection

Cons: will update if I discover any.

Other Thoughts: I watched a lot of unboxing and build videos on various cases. However, it boiled down to the Phanteks Evolve Black edition, and this one the Master Pro 5. I have to say I almost went with Phanteks, and boy am I glad I didn't. Ultimately, not only is this case typically 40 bucks cheaper, but its so nice to the touch, nothing but the real deal does this justice. Its Gun Metal black appearance is much sharper in person. Installation was absolutely flawless. I put the back 140mm fan in the front creating a clean and amazing front case wall of 3 140mm fans. I then added my spare 140mm all black fan to the exhaust. that push some serious cooling across the very open and clean looking inner chassis (the case stays at around 26 degrees.) It really is that complete gem of Computer cases. First time buying a Coolermaster case, and I must say I am sold as a fan.

5 out of 5 eggsEven better that I thought it would be!!!

This review is from: MasterCase Pro 5 Mid-Tower Case with FreeForm™ Modular System, Window Side Panel, Top Mesh Cover, and Watercooling Bracket by Cooler Master

Pros: I love the ability to customize it to your own build. You can hide almost completely all cables. You only see what you want to see. The large clear side panel is perfect for showing off your new build. Although I did have to add a lighting kit to show off my build to best effect.

Cons: Taller than the description said by over an inch.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely recomend this case to others. I am probably buying a second one to build a new machine for my son.

I would love the second generation to have the ability to install 280mm liquid cooler in the top, not just the front.

This, for me, is a near perfect case. I didn't think I would find a case that I like more than the one I just replaced.

5 out of 5 eggsFinally a case that didn't draw blood....

This review is from: MasterCase Pro 5 Mid-Tower Case with FreeForm™ Modular System, Window Side Panel, Top Mesh Cover, and Watercooling Bracket by Cooler Master

Pros: This case was honestly designed exceptionally well. I found it very easy to install all of my components in. The removable components were very well thought out. Compared to my old CM690 (The Original) this case is head and shoulders above it....i really liked my CM690...i like this one even more.

PUSH/PULL SETUP!! I was able to mount my Corsair H100 in a Push/Pull Configuration. It is a VERY tight clearance with my GA-990FXA UD3 R5...nothing is touching...but I am within 1/4" of my RAM Tabs.

Cons: It Doesn't do dishes...and it didn't install all of my components automatically...

Other Thoughts: Great Mid-Tower case. Very Flexible...i look forward to seeing some of the FreeForm options that come available.
