Nice HTPC Case
- Pros: Nice basic case. Accommodates full-height cards, plenty of drive bays. LEDs aren't blinding, I may leave then plugged in. It fits in perfectly with my entertainment center. Sturdy construction, and it's cheap.
- Cons: No major problems. Getting to the VGA connector on my video card is tricky because it's so close to the top of the case, but that's my video card's fault as much as the case's.
- Other Thoughts: I didn't have any problems with the drive trays. My motherboard has 1 bank filled, the pair furthest from the drives. If I had the other bank filled, I may have to remove the memory to remove the drives, but that's not a big deal for me. Front USB would be nice, but there are plenty of front I/O units you can add to the drive bays.
Excellent case for the money
- Pros: Large desktop box with three 5.25" bays for CD/DVD drives etc. There is also a separate drive cage that will take three 3.5" drives, of which two can be floppies... but see cons below. Good ventilation, solid quality without going overboard. Recommended overall.
- Cons: The 3.5" drive cage is in a position that interferes with the power connector and/or RAM sticks on a lot of modern AMD ATX motherboards. Be careful to study the images to see if your motherboard will work.
- Other Thoughts: I couldn't use the 3.5" drive cage for hard disks due to interference with my motherboard, so I ended up using the three 5.25" bays and some 3.5" adaptors instead, which is enough for what this will be used for (HTPC)
- Pros: Low Cost and does the job well. Good dimensions
- Cons: Not enough airflow vents for high-end systems.
- Other Thoughts: Low Cost, Simple design. Sturdy and fits regular ATX motherboards. Fits large graphics Cards, Fits regular PSUs. 3x 5.25 drives with just about enough space to squeeze additional 2x HDDs under CD drive. That's quite a bit for an enclosure that will fit into a a decent shelf space
