4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Low cost, free shipping, comes with PSU

Cons: Very flimsy case construction, somewhat suspect quality on the PSU although HEC makes decent PSU's generally. This should be more than enough for the very low stress computer I built my parents.

Other Thoughts: The case is plain and basic. The side panel must be unscrewed. The material is very thin and bendable. Be careful with that. On the other hand... it was super cheap, and I knew what I was getting. 4 eggs because the side panel requiring screwdriver seems really outdated. The rest of the cons, I knew what I was getting when I ordered it

3 out of 5 eggsEhh

Pros: Good case for the money. I'm actually running a pretty high end machine out of it, but I've been able to keep it cool enough for comfort. The design is pretty decent as well. It's sturdy and everything is pretty easy to access.

Cons: The included PSU is trash. Mine was DOA, and I never could get anyone to replace it.

Other Thoughts: Not a top end case, but I guess you get what you pay for. I would suggest buying a case without the PSU and buying a PSU with a good rating separately.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent!!!!

Pros: Excellent Case! Build quality is on par with the price. My customer was pleased with the system more than expected.

Cons: I hate knockouts. They need actual filters on the slots on the back.

Other Thoughts: For the people that don't enjoy this case as much as me, I'm truly sorry.

2 out of 5 eggsPain...

Pros: Plenty of interior space. Quiet power supply.

Cons: Back was smashed. I had to fight this case every second. I have built more than a 100 computers and this case really challenged me. PAIN!!!

Other Thoughts: Please pack it better.

5 out of 5 eggsRoom for lots

Pros: Room for many drives and devices. Has room for many different types of motherboards. Decently solid construction. Has room for intake and exhaust 120mm fans. Solid power supply with 2 SATA power connectors. Power button, power LED and hard drive LED all match and work with my motherboard

Cons: Reset header does not match my MOBO. So, no reset from the front of the case. Comes with annoying I/O shield which I took out.

Other Thoughts: I have owned a past revision of this case from mid-2008 and still like it. Yes, a bit flimsy but very much solid enough for the usual builder.

4 out of 5 eggsold system has new home

Pros: Seems to be a value equal to what I paid. Nice design and plenty of room.

Cons: Typical complaint of thin metal and the knockouts are somewhat difficult to remove. I also had to take some time to figure out the mobo fasteners. I've never before had one that did not require standoff on all points. This uses raised metal mounts on 3 of the MATX board mounts. Simple once I figured it out. The adjustable CPU fan cone is a bit of a joke to adjust.

Other Thoughts: I have not yet started the PSU that it came with as I have just now moved my main system to this using my good PSU. It is not as heavy as my Thermaltake 400 but it has wire fan guards and that is always my first observation in buying a PSU.

4 out of 5 eggsHEC Case

Pros: I had no issues installing my Asus motherboard, I only had to add 2 standoffs to accommodate the motherboard. The faceplate for the motherboard snapped right in with no issues. Lots of expandability. I would recommend this case.

Cons: The connector for the "power on" led is a 3 pin connector, however,
the "power on" led on the motherboard is a 2 pin.

3 out of 5 eggsNot as garbagey...

Pros: Well laid out inside, makes for decent cable routing. Decent airflow when re-equipped with 2 120mm fans. I'm pretty sure HEC made one of my all-time-favorite cases -- the IC8000. The interior of this one is sort of similar, but lacks the removable drive bay...

Cons: ...build quality feels pretty cheap and the PSU should likely be replaced with a better quality unit, but honestly, the case isn't *THAT* bad. At the discounted, free-shipping price, I would recommend it -- but mine had come broken. Some super glue and patience rectified some of the damage.

Other Thoughts: I apologize for my last 'review'. I wish Newegg had the option to edit previously-posted ones. Newegg issued a partial credit due to the broken panel. HEC makes some very, very nice cases, and this one didn't really deserve the bashing I gave it. While it does feel cheap, overall, the case is intelligently laid-out (for the most part), and actually looks nice when it's built up. With a couple moderate-flow 120mm fans in it, it is a little bit loud, but that's a soothing sound for me. Yes, I'm weird. Nyah.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: It was cheap...

Cons: ...for a reason. It arrived broken (the front was cracked and falling off with two of the six retention pins shattered and floating around inside). The build quality is cheap, the PSU is pretty junky -- just avoid this case. There are plenty of others for a minor bump in cost.

Manufacturer Response:

You can always get a spare part to replace broken unit with factory.
