5 out of 5 eggsNicest Server Case I've seen in a long time!

Pros: Well laid out, comes with detailed quick reference on case cover, no shape edges, and easy to remove drive bays. Priced incredibly well.

Cons: None thus far, maybe USB 3.0 on the front panel but likely not necessary being a server case.

Other Thoughts: I build A LOT of server case systems. At least 50 a year I'd estimate. I decided to try this Chenbro and am extremely impressed with how easy and nice it is to work with. I'll definitely be buying more as we need them. We build video edit/playback systems with multiple video cards (980 Ti, Titan X, and soon 1080) so cooling is key. I've added three 80mm fans to round out the cooling. I haven't started testing it but believe it will provide plenty of cooling.

System built with 1 950 PCI-E boot drive and 1TB Samsung EVO SSD for backup so cooling shouldn't as bad as if I had it loaded with hard drives which I'll never do.

5 out of 5 eggsA nice case for a homebrew server

Pros: I used this case to build a server using a regular ATX motherboard and a standard size desktop power supply, Everything fit nicely.

-Very sturdy construction. Metal is relatively thick and there are no sharp edges internally.
-Fits standard ATX or smaller boards.
-Separate sub case for hard drive arrays.
-Fits up to 4 hard drives in said sub-case
-Hard drive casing has rubber grommets where it meets the main hull, preventing transfer of vibrations
-Has spot to mount a laptop style cd drive, Hell even a floppy drive
-Front fan assembly removable from front (nice if you dont buy the rails and need to change the fan in production)
-Works with generic rails
-Has a nice tamper detection switch, if your board supports it.

Cons: -Airflow is nice, but not really sufficient with the fans provided. There are 2 fan mounting points in the back of the case that are unused however. I frequently have overheating on the servers I built using this case, but its generally resolved by adding a couple fans/ liquid cooling

-Hard drive casing is very close to where a ATX motherboard's main power connector is. I had to bend that and my lowest SATA drive's data cable in a way I did not like.

Other Thoughts: I was impressed enough to buy 3 more after my initial purchase

5 out of 5 eggsFor somewhat portable video editing

Pros: Very nice case. I set out with the intention of building a somewhat portable video editing workstation. I was debating between a 3U and a 4U. With the gtx980ti, a 4U would be minimum. It has room to spare with the length of the card. Not much, but some. The height is just enough for the card. Very sturdy construction and heavy. Almost wish it was a little less sturdy to get shave off some weight for transporting, but I knew it would be heavy with everything I was planning on installing. I got the ASUS X99-M WS mATX, but it could handle a bigger board. Seems to be able to handle just about any type of power supply. I put in the EVGA 220-GS-0850-V1 80 PLUS GOLD 850W without a problem. I love the look of the case, and all of the 3.5 and 5.25 drive areas are fairly easy to add and update.

Cons: I ended up getting a 120mm cpu cooler and the very top copper bars are too tall to get the top cover on. Going to have to get a smaller cooler. Not a big deal for me, just running it without the top cover until the new cooler comes in.

Other Thoughts: Very happy with this case. Next up is getting some sort of portable rack to carry this to different editing locations.

5 out of 5 eggsHard to beat for the price

Pros: Plenty of space
Nice layout

Cons: Included 120mm fan is really loud

Other Thoughts: I looked around a lot for a case that would fit in an 18 inch deep rack that waslarge enough for a decent video card and this fits the bill. I have a gtx 960 in the case and there is a few inches left for a larger card and I think sli would be fine also. I plan on replacing the 120mm fan and adding 3 80mm, 1 for the front and 2 in the back, should be adequate cooling. If you want a rack case that will fit in a pro audio rack this is probably the one. Rails would have been nice but I can't complain for the price. Great case.

1 out of 5 eggsWas Happy, Not Now

Pros: Does everything it says it does

Cons: I have used these in many builds over the last year or so, but the last batch of cases came with only two motherboard stand-off spacers. That may not sound like a big deal until you try to find some after market stand offs. They are either too long, too short or the thread patterns is different.

Why in the world would the case come with only TWO stand offs when ten are needed?

Thumbs down and looking for another case for future builds.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat value

Pros: Great build quality, rugged-yet-unobtrusive good looks, great airflow. Also, appreciated the clear illustrations and labels for case setup, nice rubber grommets suspending drive cages, and included extra/optional parts.

Cons: No significant cons - some sharp edges, but nothing that every other case doesn't have. Blue "POWER" LED is incredibly bright -- it will actually project a blue circle over 4-6' in broad daylight. What other reviewers have said about HD fans is true, too (must be "bumped out" a screw to make room if you want 80cm HDD fan)

Other Thoughts: If you're considering this case and want to put an optical drive in, think about getting a "slim" (laptop-style) one - this case has a slot & hardware for one below the HD/LED indicators and would free up the three 5.25" bays and look super cool, too.

All in all, easily the best 4U case I've ever had at this price point (sample size: 6)

5 out of 5 eggsChenbro get's it right

Pros: Great case. Allot of small details that you would expect to be overlooked at this price point are thoughtfully covered. Plenty of options for customization, plenty of fan options (I assumed the stock fans would be noisy and bought a few silenx versions).

Useful information is actually etched onto the interior metal, a rare thing that is greatly appreciated, and a comprehensive sticker is pasted to the roof of the top panel. Just about any ATX PS can be installed, even ones that are "longer".

Cons: No real defect in this case.

About the only improvement I would make to it is if the case was about 1 or 2 inches deeper. I know it's intended to be shallow, and that there is a MUCH deeper version available, but if this one were just an inch deeper then there would be room to have the internal 3.5 inch drives fully seated back and still have room for an additional 80mm fan in front. As it stands, if you want the 80mm fan in front of the HD's, then you have to extend the drives out of the cage about an inch (using two screws per side instead of three). That's not a problem, but on an ATX board, depending on where your CPU is, you may bump into the cooler. Then again, if you have a cooler blowing front-to-back in that location, you don't really need a fan in front of the HD's. So, not really a defect.

Other Thoughts: At 4U, this case may be a bit larger then you might need, but it will accomodate just about any future hardware combination you might have.

5 out of 5 eggsBIG Case

Pros: Big, sturdy construction, plenty of room for fans.

Cons: Doesn't come with 2nd drive cage for left side.

Other Thoughts: I didn't mind not having the 2nd cage, I mounted a 120mm fan on the left side.

5 out of 5 eggsBest cheap case out there

Pros: I have two of these cases; one is a hyper-v server, the other ESXi. Solid construction, good airflow, lots of space for drives. This is my favorite rack-mount case for builds. I find myself wishing my other cases were as easy to work with as this one.

Cons: I do wish it came with the second drive cage, or at least it was easier to find the secondary cage.

Other Thoughts: It is a short case, so you will have to make sure any multiple hot-swap bays will fit.

5 out of 5 eggsHigh Five!

Pros: Solid construction
Very Modular
Room for lots of goodies!
Looks cool!
Slim optical drive mounting!

Cons: Front power LED is obnoxiously bright (I just disabled it)
Some people have commented that the switches are cheap, they work fine for me I will not be swapping them out.
Front panel audio and/or front panel USB 3.0 would be nice.

Other Thoughts: This is my first server case (have always bought tower cases). I wanted something more physically rugged and cool looking. I'm very pleased with this case! I bought an extra 5.25" cage and will be swapping out the 120mm fan for it.

I was going to buy an iStarUSA server case but this one is so much better.
